Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

This is still my favorite one

Awesome

I never gave up hope, but I had a cautious optimism about me. It's so good having the one character you want most confirmed first.
As a Mario main, it's always nice seeing him always be the first confirmed fighter. I've talked about it before, but I'm lucking in that I'm never worried about my main getting cut. Even though one of my mains is Lucas and it sucks to see him go, I'll always have Mario to fall back on.

I thought you could read Japanese. How else do you get those Pokemon leaks translated on time? :S

My Japanese knowledge is rudimentary at best. StreetsAhead helps me with translations when I need them.

Given the choice, I'd take a language option any day. I can understand many things, but it's always a hassle.

I guess I'm like the Will Graham of cut characters in that I can empathize with every single person who gets sad when their character is cut.

Except for Pichu.

On my official album it's just titled "Theme of Super Mario 3D World." But the more familiar one I think is associated with the Super Bell Hill level.

Or maybe that one is Title Theme... I know that melody appears lots of places.

Hmm wrong link I posted maybe. It's the remix of bowser's world theme.

Haha, nice reference. I definitely empathize with them, but I just never have experienced that fear waiting for the POTD to confirm my favorite character. Excitement for it to confirm other favorites of my main, but never the one.

Let's look at all the newcomers [so far dammit]. Would you have guessed them pre-E3 2013? Be honest. Don't let hindsight affect your initial guesses.

Villager: Probably not, since Sakurai specifically said he was unsuitable for Smash around the time of Brawl's release.
Mega Man: Yes.
Wii Fit Trainer: Not a chance.
Rosalina & Luma: I started considering Rosalina as a possibility after she was confirmed as a playable character in Super Mario 3D World. So, prior to E3 2013, no.
Little Mac: Yes.
Greninja: Obviously not before E3 2013, but after X and Y's release, I considered him as a possibility as part of a second Pokemon Trainer team, though not really as a stand-alone character.
Mii Fighter: I considered them a possibility.
Palutena:Yes.
Pac-Man: Yes. With Bandai Namco helping with development, it was obvious he'd be in.
Lucina: I thought for sure the Awakening rep would be Chrom.
Robin: See above. Also never dreamed there'd be two Awakening reps.
Shulk: I considered him a possibility.
Dark Pit: Nope.
Bowser Jr.: I considered him a possibility. He's been in a number of main-line Mario games.
Duck Hunt: Not a chance.

Ooooh, okay. I think one of the W-Bowser themes plays on the actual map, and the other is in-level or something. The more upbeat one is the one that plays on the World Map.

It's the one that's kinda more hip hop. Plays when the circus big top falls onto the map for a boss world.

Oh yeah I know what you mean. I'm pretty confident that Olimar/Villager are in Smash Bros. for good (I hope so anyway) so I feel safe too.

Also thank you for getting my reference.

Oooookay yeah yeah I'm remembering now. That and the "Main Theme" are my two favorite tunes in the game (along with Shifty Boo Mansion).

oh my god oric

I am a Hannibal geek to a near pathological (lol) degree. Pleeeeease keep me up to date with what you think of the show as you watch.
Will do! It's going to be a bit before I catch up, as I'm juggling Deadwood, True Detective (which I've already seen), and Hannibal all at once as things to watch with my girlfriend.

I've got some quality TV in my near future. :)

I really feel it's going to be custom moves. Though, if just dropped a Bowser Jr. trailer on us because "fuck it" mentality took over, I'd be thrilled.

EDIT: Since this is at the top of the page, let me clarify I'm not expecting that to happen.

Good on you, more people need to watch all of these shows.

Some quality TV and quality gaming coming up.

I'm talking of course, about playing Smash Bros.

In case that wasn't obvious.

*clears throat* where is that damned PotD?

Oh there it is

Pic of the day. In Classic mode, a roller spins before every stage to determine your reward. Rewards in red are for customization, green ones are trophies, and yellow means precious gold. Of course, if you raise the intensity, the abundance of these rewards will increase quite a bit, too. You can be rewarded in every stage, so in that way this mode might be a little more generous compared to previous games in the series.

And here's the results screen. It shows what you gained in each stage, but you won't be rewarded until you clear it all. If you mess up in the middle, you can lose some of them too. The fighter icons are special attacks, and icons like the shield are equipment. The icons that say Mii on them are hats and clothes for Mii characters. Icons that show characters on a stand are trophies, of course, and the coins are gold you earned.
