Normal is such a joke, lol. I just died a ton of times on hard during the
sword
quest. Switched to normal and one shot it.
Yeah, they toned down the difficulty for normal. And yet, I was using auto rifles for the beta and they've been so nerfed that I'm having to learn how to rock the hand cannons and scout rifles so I'm actually dying a bit more.

After playing for 4-5 hours, I don't think I'm diggin the game. Going to trade it for Diablo 3 instead. The lack of major story is hard for me to enjoy since FPS games aren't really my thing anyways. Fallout I can do, but this is just...different?

I'm at level 8 now and I have been enjoying it a lot. Yes, it's a lot of pewpew and yes, it seems the elements that made Halo so awesome have taken a step back but it's still highly enjoyable and polished'

Anyone know if the game will keep downloading on the "transferring game content" screen if I put the ps4 on standby? Or do I need to keep it on?

I wish Bungie would add an in game volume option. My headphones connect to my DAC through to my PS4, but unfortunately I can't control the volume. In most games I just turn it down in the games menu, in Destiny I can't seem to go find a volume option. So there I am playing the game secretly whilst my wife's asleep, with some super detailed, ultra loud headphones that are scaring me with loud random sounds all the time lol.

On a side note, the audio work in this game is fantastic.

lol gee really?

this isnt trying to be anything like that.

Oh please, this is an MMO in all but name. Strikes are dungeons, it has a raid, the comparisons between this and an MMO are not that wide apart. The only difference is there isn't a sub, instead we have "expansion packs". Funny thing is, SWTOR probably cost less to develop than this and it had more content, which was notorious for a severe lack of end-game.

I can't name one game were the hype is real. It's why a lot of people moan, they buy into the hype of the game before they have even played the game. Instead of thinking I will judge the game when I play it, some people go crazy and brand games amazing etc etc etc just from very little info.

I can name a few games that lived up to the hype for me.

I get what you are saying... but you will be far more disappointed in Diablo's story if that is what you are after. Both exceptional games for me, but it is the loot and game play that keep me there^^

i mean it's cool and all but you can't knife somebody across the map with it.

i don't think i can get rid of my long range spree extender and throwing knives.

on that note, i need to take a break from crucible or i'll end up skipping the pve modes.

I've logged hundreds and hundreds of hours into D3 on PC, so I know I enjoy that game. :)

Whelp, it's time to practice mouse aiming LOL.

The biggest thing about is that there's a huge shift in the range of motion when going from 1st to 3rd person. And the indicators for people in range is more 'feel' than anything else. It tracks decent enough, and there are 'spam' moves in it - but if you want anywhere near the same dominating effect as the Golden Gun, you need to practice a ton.

I've seen a guy clear out all of Blind Watch with it twice in the same match.

I haven't even started the Moon and I'm level 14. How over leveled am I?

Awesome!

I finished the Earth missions but I haven't tackled the Strikes yet. I'd like to party up with some Gaffers tomorrow and do them on both difficulties, and then explore some more, accept bounties, get in Public Events, etc.

I feel like I want to invest some time in the planet first before I move onto the next one. I'll probably be around Level 10-11 before I move to the Moon I think, but we'll see -- I could see myself getting lost in PvP.

Playing on PS4, pre-ordered at Gamestop and while I can see under "related items" that the Red Sparrow pre-order vehicle is installed, the bike itself is nowhere in my game. Not in my inventory (it's just the normal grey one), not at the postmaster, not at the vendors. I've hit "restore licenses" and rebooted the game multiple times and still I cannot access the pre-order vehicle. Can anyone help?

Damn.. that sounds and looks (from the gif) rewarding as hell.

Man this invite process needs t be streamlined and placed in-game (on PS4). Just did a lvl 5 mission with an awesome girl but it was awkward. Invite, leave game to notifications, open it, accept, re-loads even though she was standing right next to me.

These bosses r taking way too fucking long to kill. seriously. Not fun at all.

i keep seeing people say they toned down the difficulty but some stuff is definitely harder than the beta, although i do think the recommend level was raised for some things? - to get people to grind longer?

Restore licenses on your PS4.

Every enemy aside from thos acolytes who are super easy to head shot (big ol' domes) seem to require way more shots to kill. I've run out of ammo on boss fights twice.

Just had two awesome hours. First, I managed to clear the first Moon strike mission and holy hell was it ever tough. The final boss and battle are brutal, the whole thing took a good 30 minutes.

Here we are celebrating:

The best part though, was the reward. It was a crazy good hand cannon. I had tried a couple of others and hated using them, until I got a good hand cannon and this one is a monster. Love using it.

I also finally got to Mars and it is wonderful. The vistas, the music, the Cabal encounters are stellar. Destiny has a lot of weird, little issues that occasionally bug me, but as a whole I am really loving it. Only level 15 too. I'm very curious to see what it's like post level 20. I definitely understand why people will dislike the game, but I think that if you have ever really loved Halo and Borderlands, you will really enjoy this. The gunplay and enemy encounters feel fantastic (the Cabal is especially fun, not sure why). Loot and leveling systems are also great. The weakest stuff has been the story, looking at the guide I seem to only have 4 story missions left (after 5 hours too) and I have really no idea what is going on. There are basically no characters and the events on one planet aren't really tied in anyway to the next planets story. And literally every single mission has at least one encounter where you "hold square to deploy ghost" and then defend it for a while. Again, not so inspired, but the gameplay stops it from bothering me too much.

It's a shame that games like this, Borderlands, and Diablo have such shitty stories and mission structure and it's a bit crazy that a game so big has such lackluster story missions. But, like I said, the gameplay and loot systems make up for the crappy story. Much like Borderlands and Diablo, it's all about killing lots of enemies and improving everything about your character and Destiny does that really, really well.

By next week, PvP is going to be full of Warlocks (both) and Blade Dancers (noob trap) - providing free kills to anyone that can aim and jump.

I still don't know what the hell Bungie is going to do to protect Warlocks in PvP. They're just so free compared to the other classes its ridiculous.

So I am still unable to play the game. I'm on a university internet connection that's had no previous problems. Open NAT, high dl/ul speeds, etc. I and a LOT of other people have discussed this on bungie's forums, and it's a widespread problem at campuses across the US.

I'll give it til the weekend, then I'll start looking at refund options. I'm incredibly disappointed. Been looking forward to this game for like 2 years. Even bought the LE.

Figure one - two story missions from 20 (halfway through 19). Have to do some medical stuff, so have to take a break for an hour.

I'd hate to see how fast the leveling was if this wasn't (allegedly) tweaked down.

I have like 30 engrams ready to decode once I hit 20 :).

But that's because you probably didn't go crazy overboard in thinking how good a game could be. Some people hype up a game so much and start to think in their minds what they could do in that game. It just leads to people feeling down or annoyed even tho it is partly their own fault.
