Ugh. My job is again getting in the way of my gaming. Got home from work last night and got 6 hours in. Now, I have to work all day. Played Earth strike mission on hard worth two friends last night and holy hell it was a bitch! That damn eyeball was a bugger.

Dunno if this is just happening to me or to others. but here..

So I was in a team with my friend. He couldn't hear me but I could see my mic icon in the lower right when i speak. Even when we group party, i can see my mic moving and his not.

Then, me and my friend saw some random guy online (who is also from the philippines like us), he heard me, but not my friend. And my friend couldn't hear him too.

heres the weird part...

my OTHER friend (2), also can't hear me. but then i can still see my mic in the game and in group party. have yet to test it with another stranger with friend #2.

whats going on??

Are you playing on an Xbone? I had a similar issue last night -- the mic can be finicky. I'd recommend plugging it in first before launching the game. Seems to fix it every time for me.

The 5 are

1. The 2nd mission, on table, it's right in front of you
2. Skywatch mission/area, when you meet the Wizard for the first time or Explore the Fallen Captain and his buddies in that room. It's on the roof, close to the wall
3. In between the Mothyards and Forgotten Shore, first turn after the waterfall, the small river, look to your left, a cave there
4. Keep going to Forgotten Shore, reach the water/ocean, hug the left wall, run into water, perched of rock
5. The Devil's Lair Strike, last boss Sepkis Prime, fall to the bottom floor, look to the right side, it's hugged where the rafters meet the ramp

I actually thought these would be randomized. Guess not.

Thanks guys. Yeah I have all of those. I guess I'll take another pass and see if I'm blind.

Whats the reward?

An upgraded Sparrow. It's slightly faster and you can brake a lot easier to make snap turns. It's fun.

What's the reward for all the gold chests on the moon?

So playing with competent players who know how to move around and bleed time if 2 Guardians go down, Summoning Pit beaten on the Vanguard Playlist as a level 18 Hard Mode Strike

I was like shit, here comes the Pain, then we down that fucker easily, many deaths, but that's gonna happen
I wonder if a fireteam can run that fucker flawlessly

Has it been figured out how levels and weapon stats work or scale in the context of stuff like Crucible and playing with lower level characters?

Also for those of you who have hit the level cap already, is it still fun to play and hunt for better gear? It sounds like striving for those light levels (not sure how it works exactly) is a decent longer term goal.

Having a ridiculous amount of fun with this game. Stayed up late playing it on a work night, haven't done that in so long.

Had an absolute blast playing this last night. Some of the battles are just insane. The fucking moon strike is beyond hard, frustrating and made me want shake something. We never beat it. I was a lvl 14 and the two dudes I was with were lvl 12 and we still could only get the last boss down to half health. I loved every second of it though. I'm gonna try again once I get some dudes that are at least lvl 14 because it's too fucking hard ATM. Has anyone beaten it actually being a lvl 12? Shit seems impossible lol

the venus strike missions were even nastier.

I know me & quint were at least a couple of levels below the recommended level and our fireteam leader had just unlocked them.

we spent a shit load of time dying and retrying before we beat the two venus strike missions. the first was especially brutal and it took a lot of patience and learning how to best approach dealing with the mobs and juggling the boss and his teleporting ass.

So, where is the loot in Destiny? Right now its worse then vanilla diablo 3. Im level 9 almost 10 and im still running around with quest reward weapons. Where is it?

see my above post, shit is coming, especially from strike missions where you get rares.
well, here's the image of my 16 warlock.
edit: started getting the good shit around 12 when we did the strikes on venus.

Not everyone is going to like everything they play, I couldn't stand Halo. I remember getting to the giant scarab thing in Halo 3 and thinking this was some bullshit and turned it off forever. But a lot of people consider Halo 3 to be one of the best games ever.

Sometimes some games just dont click with you, its the same with me and the Zelda games.

U dont like Halo or Zelda? O_o what games do you like?

Not sure if I should buy this. If I wasn't thrilled with the beta, is there anything else for me in the game?

Nope. If you didn't enjoy the beta, you will not enjoy the game. Not until Raids at the very least. But are you going to put up with all that just for endgame content? Probably not. Stick around to check out the Raids, but I don't think you are going to like the game.

I'm down for trying lol.

Also, that trophy where you complete a raid without dying @_@.

Nice!! Yeah man we figured out the key was to constantly move on our 4th or 5th attempt. It's definitely the damn knights and wizards that keep getting me, there are an absolute ton of them. We just need to be able to more damage I think. I'm dead set on beating this strike tonight.

We lucked out on our third run when the wizards and Knights all spawned on the ledged facing eachother.

We kept 2 guys under one ledge locking them in place and 1 dude under the opposing ledge, also locking them in place.

Then when the boss was almost dead, the 2 dudes tried to move in and got killed, leaving me as the last guardian standing.

I just let them despawn man...i had too....but i emptied my handcannon in the big brute's belly and killed it.

Massive Dance Party.

NOTE: Do you guys think it's a bug that enemies keep attacking your spawn bubble?
Those damn Knights kept bombing my corpse, making it pretty tricky to revive

It's not a bug. It makes not to revive someone when an enemy is shooting where they died.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to set your fire team to "public" so players can highlight you can just join.

They can. Happened to me last night. Had to boot the guy lol

I think it's an Xbox thing.
I know in the PS3 under Roster you could set your fireteam to public, and when you started a mission sometimes other players would spawn with you.
On the X1 that option is replaced with 'snap party app', and you start alone(unless your in a party I assume)

The upgraded Sparrows saves you Glimmer
Unless you get a color you don't like (it's random)

One chest gives you the Jade Rabbit emblem
I think I got 2 Blue Engrams as reward (might be wrong here)

Patched and ready to go. Don't fail me, GAF-hype.

I'm so torn between getting this or Diablo 3 for ps4. I enjoyed the beta, but got bored of it towards the end and didn't play it for the last few days it was available From what I have been reading and seeing in videos it doesn't look like it offers much more than the beta in terms of experience, just the same shit but different surroundings, repeated for 10-15 hours. Add to that I don't have any friends who own current gen consoles. It seems Bungie have failed to tailor this game to players like me (predominantly solo). I really wanted a game I could sink my teeth into and soak up a hundred or so hours of my spare time, I just can't see how pretty backdrops and okay gunplay will hold my attention for that long.

For those that have played both this and Diablo 3, which one would be more suited? I keep hearing how Diablo 3 was a mess at launch, has this since been fixed, and does it offer a richer experience to a lonely gamer than Destiny?

Friends and I struggled to have a ton of fun last night with the game.. Best part was a strike mission which was fun but the story really does not connect with us just yet.

My first impression of the game was having a random invite me to a fireteam which is awesome, been a while since I joined randoms so kudos for that HOWEVER.. Even though I was standing next to him on earth it made me go back to Orbit to load in the same area.. but placed me back at the beginning.

Luckily he knew this and waited for me to run all the way back to him. Why on earth can I not just be instantly connected to him in the world? I mean we are both loaded onto the same server? I just do not get this... really breaks the flow.

But ultimately we got a team of 3.. none of us knew eachother and we all got on the mic, first time in 10 years I worked that closely with randoms so at least the game can have those moments again. Reminds me of old school online games.

Bought the game digital so going to enjoy it for what it is worth but I do not see it as the next big deal.

Diablo 3 is fucking nuts compared to Destiny, but if you're a lonely gamer, I wouldn't recommend either. Both games shine when playing with competent players. I guess D3 might be slightly better since it can get addictive, but still.

Trying to find the answer to this. Does damage scale down if you're a higher level than someone else in the campaign or a strike? Meaning, if I'm 15 and they're 5, and we go on an early mission, does my damage scale down? And to what do I scale down to?

its unlocked after you beat the moon strike. Random strike mission, you can choose a difficulty. I just did the earth strike w/ level 18 enemies.

You'll unlock the strike playlist mode at 16 actually. It's basically queueing for a random strike that is scaled to your level (so +2 current since they are set to Hard).

This sounds amazing.

If they're 5 and they choose Normal difficutly, then you're not scaled down.

If they choose Hard, then you're scaled down. By scaled down, I mean your gun's damage output and your damage threshold is lowered to be a challenge.

Regardless of either difficulty, you still get good XP and loot from it.

What I would like to know is if someone can get to level 20 easily from doing patrols on Old Earth. I haven't checked to see how much XP I get from just farming enemies there at a high level and playing solo.

Diablo 3 is more fun solo. It's a very good game (on PC at least) to zone out to. And it's VERY easy to join up with randoms and just go on slaying monsters. I'm having a hard time enjoying Destiny solo, and I've not been able to get a group of randoms yet (not sure how to do it I guess).

Can somebody help me with a few questions... please

1. I feel as if the game is difficult enough going solo. I am finishing missions (only level 3 at the moment)... but the next story mission is for level 4. I know that I can work my way thru it but I hear people talking about grinding missions. Is there a way to skip the story parts?

2. I did one of the first missions in the game to get the gear or soemthing for the ship. I see other people near me but I enter to fight the boss and when it phases.. those people disappear. Is there a way to fight those bosses with others? it seems awful touch and go/ difficult for one person to handle solo.

3. At what point do you begin PVP?

I keep hearing about playlists. What do you guys mean? I'm about to hit 16 btw.

You should see them once you hit 17 lol

This will become available:

I'm 18, so Vanguard Eagle is Normal for me, while vanguard viper is considered Hard due to me being 2 levels below the requirement

Let's see them day 2 guardians! I fuckin binged out on this game yesterday and leveled my dude to 14 lol.

My lvl 14 warlock! I can't wait to start getting more rare (blue) items.

You could just do patrol missions and level up that way. The story in this game seems optional honestly, though I have no idea if you can only unlock planets by going through the story. I'd hope not. I think I'd have more fun fucking around in patrol and strikes than doing the story missions.

Are you on PSN? I can help.

I got DIII to tide me over to this and I just don't know if I'll ever be able to go back. I just have no investment in my li'l Demon Hunter or his loot or the storyline.

Do like the cutscenes tho.

Does DIII have Grimoire Cards? ;D

OH speaking of!! Your Crucible Grimoires level up and that's how you get better loot post-match.

SO COOL.
