Please excuse me whilst I explain to my family why this is so funny......

They cried and told me that they worry about me.

Pretty happy about Mario's apparent buff. Dude was my main in melee, but I had to switch to C.Falcon since he wasn't cutting it.

that menu picture is the best. omg.

That mario combo! I'm so excited for this game. It just looks like it plays sooo good. I can't wait to get my hands on this. I'm actually excited to play as mario for once! what! I really hope demo's on friday.

This thread is literally going to fast for me :( I can't keep up with anyone lol

And, after a month of me filling too many first posts with my giant graphics, it's all done. I made this poll to help build hype and remind us of all the fun we've had with past Smash games, so hopefully you guys had fun; I definitely did seeing everyone's reactions to everything. Sorry again for clogging these threads will all of my giant banners!

I also wanted to give a big thank you to all of you. I lurked community for quite some time before joining NeoGAF back in May and being welcomed in by all of you has been a real treat. All this when we haven't even gotten to play the game we're obsessing over together yet! It's hard finding a sensible, well-spoken community for gaming online and, while we definitely delve into our fair share of madness and waifu-ing, I've come to like this place quite a bit. Hopefully post launch a lot of you will stick around, as it would be a shame for us to have talked to so much about Smash 4 to not get to experience it much together.

You guys seriously rock. But we've got the next entry in the Smash Bros. series coming out in Japan fucking tomorrow, so we don't have time for getting sappy. Let's start this new era of Smash off right and keep the hype up until we get this game in the hands of everyone worldwide!

No Oric, Thank YOU for doing this great series. It truly was a lot of fun to see SmashGAF's tastes on characters throughout the series. It was also a great way to kill the time over the past few weeks. Even though I don't post enough in each thread, I will definitely be rocking with SmashGAF throughout all of the games
lifespans. To Smash Bros and these upcoming leaks! :P

Honestly, I loved Wario when he was a rude, but manly car mechanic of a man. I really hate the nose picking, garlic munching, Wario-wafting version of the character.
But he's been like that since at least Wario Land. I remember the Wario Land 2 story talking about his daily nose cleaning and what not and garlic was his mushroom equivalent in the first game.

I told my parents not to bother me while I'm #gaming but the nurse said my parents have been gone for years and told the doctor I needed a heavier dose of lithium.

At which point you realised that you weren't gaming, you were in fact playing with fluff!

Wouldn't it be funny if Nintendo just quietly released the demo on the eShop for the rest of the world and not announce it.

Hey, thanks for this series Oric. You worked hard doing this and it shows. It was fun discussing GAF's choices on the rich cast of smash/gaming characters this past year.

See you again in Smash 5 maybe?

That was horrible DI. I have no idea why keitaro thought it would be a good idea to DI in there. If he DI'd away it wouldn't have worked.

Yeah, but making a mistake in the heat of the moment is all part of the game. Missing survival DI, not teching, mental mistakes are all a part of it. As long as the game gives the opportunity for punishes and reads like that video, it's going to be great.

What is DI? And what is tilt for that matter? I always feel lost in fighting game jargon.
Both terms are exclusive to smash.

Tilt: A move inputted by pressing A and tilting the stick gently. Generally these are faster and weaker than Smashes, and they cannot be charged.

DI (Directional influence): The ability to affect the trajectory of your character's movement when hit by pressing the control stick in a direction.

I agree the game looks great and has combos, but that one in particular could have been escaped quite easily.

Directional influence. When you are hit you can influence which direction your character is hit towards. A tilt is a directional non smash move.

Oh ok thanks. I forgot about the non-smash A attacks actually. It would probably have been good to know that stuff at E3 hehehe.

Edit: I didn't even know directional influence existed. All I ever know about Smash is using the A and B buttons combined with directions. Everything else is a bit too complicated for me.

Whoops, I thought he was referring to WarioWare itself, not Smash. Yeah, it's not all that prominent in Smash, though it's still the basis of his character.
Well it's not like he does any of that in Warioware either. The worst thing he'd do is pick his nose, which is something he's done in Wario Land.

Smash doesn't really emphasize his waft except for the first trailer and his new trophy, and it's a move you rarely ever see considering how it works. Smash Wario mixes the bizarre and quirky nature of Warioware with his brute strength in Wario Land pretty nicely in his moveset.
