Oh man I just wasted like 40-50 minutes playing Devils Lair. I got the most kills at 151, most heavy weapon kills, most assists and most revives.

Comes to the end page and I don't get rewarded with fuck all. Not even armour.

Supposedly, the game will give you more of your most used weapon, so start using auto rifles and you will get more.

Also, no matter how we all nitpick and find flaws in the game, it is still an amazing game, and it deserves every ounce of praise, and non of the hate. there is no reason to hate this game, not one.

Update 4 (Possibly the last update, if anyone doesn't have anything else to add):

What features/fixes should Bungie bring to Destiny before the first expansion?

- Guild Halls
- Improved encounter design
- Custom games
- Fileshare
- Improved enemy AI
- Better story design/flow
- Improved variety of Patrol missions (possibly more context, too)

- More loot drops for earlier levels
- Decreased loading times
- Public (proximity) voice chat
- Remove Orbs of Light from PVP
- PVP Mode with supers disabled
- Roaming enemies
- More randomized enemy spawns, both static and roaming
- Ability to turn on flash light

- Join Public Missions matchmaking
- Increase frequency of public events
- Sparrow races

Anything else?

The sad part is this list is so long it really just says please make Destiny 2 and scrap this crap you sold us.

Reached lvl 21 now.

Completed the story, pretty decent base from witch they'll expand. The ''ending'' left me with wanting to know more so that's good. Completed all the strike on normal, will tackle Heroics tomorrow see how they are.

I think having the story part play during loading screen to be a bit of a problem, I personally would had preferred cutscene. The gameplay part is solid, PvE is very fun and quite challenging (the bosses could have a little less HP). I really wonder how the clear time will be for a pre made group decently gear on the hardest setting.

PvP is absolutely a blast. (Still only played Control again, will try the other mode soon enough).

The soundtrack is godlike the song that played during the final story fight gave me goosebumps.

Now me and my two friend will have to find 3 people to tackle the Vault of Glass when it opens next week ;) Can't wait.

A good 8.5/10 in my book.

Please find and highlight in my post where I said 'don't stand in the fire is an interesting game mechanic I would like translated to Destiny'. I used it a last-ditch example because even something as dull and old as 'don't stand in the fire' would add a level of intricacy to giant boss battles (giant as in bosses that are literally giants) that is currently non-existent in Destiny.

The original comments implied that traditional MMO's have more imaginative and complex mechanics and when I pointed out how the more complex mechanics are difficult to pull off in an FPS you countered with an example of "don't stand in the fire." So my saying "interesting" was actually toning down your own implications there. If you want to say it was a bad example, then say that. But it's what you put forth.

Destiny wants to be an MMO, Bungie have said this time and time again, and it should have bosses in both standard dungeons and raids that cater to a certain level of strategy. Phoboth the Untamed or whatever is Bungie literally just throwing hundreds of trash mobs at you to create chaos and you have to hope you'll survive.

Bungie have literally, actively avoided the term MMO as much as possible actually. They specifically avoid using MMO at all and have always called Destiny a "shared-world shooter." So you're attributing people impressions of the game style to Bungie incorrectly.

It's not my job to justify Destiny as an MMO or to create the mechanics that Destiny needs to be the game it wants to be, that was up to Bungie. So far ever boss fight I have encountered in Destiny, I've played a hundred times before in other games (granted they didn't have 100000000000000hp).

It's not their job to justify it as an MMO either since that's not what they created nor is it what they intended to create. They wanted to make a shooter with heavy emphasis on Co-op and RPG elements. That's what they've made.

I guess you missed the part where Activision Blizzard is the same company. So I'll say it for a now third time, Blizzard has been part of Activison for years now. So by Bungie partnering with Activision, they also have access to Blizzard because, hey guess what, it's actually Activision Blizzard. So when I said that Bungie partnered with the company responsible for the most successful MMO ever, I was correct.

Just to be one-hundred-and-ten percent clear, Bobby Kotick is president and CEO of Activision Blizzard.

Activision buying Blizzard after WoW was made does not in any way make Activision "responsible for the most successful MMO ever" anymore than my buying Activision tomorrow makes me "responsible for Call of Duty."

As far as Bungie having access to Blizzard that's a pretty large assumption. WoW's teams are typically incredibly busy since they have to develop nearly year round to pump out the content their userbase requires. Why would you even bother them with advising Bungie when Bungie isn't even a wholly owned Activision studio? And why would Bungie want advice from Blizzard when Blizzard doesn't make FPS games and Destiny isn't an MMO?

So you need to pay more for more game?

Sounds good

It's not even like the expansions are going to add that much more, are they? From what it looks like they are just tying areas from the old game with a handful of new sections. The new story I severely doubt will be something with more ambition that what we've gotten.

Aside from Vault of Glass raid which, PR talk in mind, is supposed to be the experimental heavy area of the game, Destiny is what it is now and no expansion is going to change what the game is. /goalposts.

Ok, I feel I've played enough to form an opinion. I just did the first Venus mission, have dabbled (pitifully) in all PvP modes, and collected bounties while Patrolling.

I like this game. I love it. In having crazy fun because the gunplay is too damn satisfying, and I'm not even a big shooter fan. I can feel my skill level increasing and it's an enjoyable experience overall. My best runs have been with random gaffers I've added from this thread (a_javierp on PS4; please add me :)) and it's just such a blast to co op. I enjoy the feeling of seeing my character steadily improve as I level and gear up. It's a solid game.

The story is lacking. Rather, to be more precise, the manner in which the story is presented is broken. There is an interesting, if clichéd, tale to be told here. The fall from grace, the unknown enemy and the creeping despair of being helpless against it. It's got the right ingredients for a decent RPG tale. The way the game is structured is what makes it hard to flesh it out fully.

I'll elaborate. There is no clear link between one mission and the next. You don't feel like "shit I just found _____ now we're gonna _____". It's just like OK, Ghost is going to inform the city about this massive finding/victory I just pulled. Next mission please. Imagine cutting straight to the Tower with no orbit towards a cutscenes with the Speaker or Quartermasters or whatever going over what I just did and getting instructions or even just being compelled to go forth with whatever's next. We don't get that at all. I don't know, it's just a shame.

Other things like proximity chat or clan integration will probably be patched in so that doesn't concern me. The story structure one can only hope is fixed in the inevitable sequels.

They got the hard part down to pat: lore, art, gunplay, server capacity, character customization options, varied gear...there's so much here. I mean it's not a hacked-together game. You can tell there's a culture and a history to this world they built. This kind of subtle thing is where most developers fail and Bungie succeeded there. Hell the story itself isn't bad either. They just have to work on the design next time so as to make the narrative flow more naturally. It'd make the campaign far more engaging.

Missions could stand being a little more varied too. It'd be nice to escort someone, or rescue a Guardian or whatever. Something that doesn't involve Ghost scanning.

I'll be playing this for a long long time. Just logged in; anyone up for Earth/Moon strike?

Holy shit, I just did the strike on the moon and that was a bitch. I went into matchmaking and ended up with 2 level 11 randoms (I'm only level 12) and we died so many times at the end. One guy up and left (or got disconnected since his character was sitting in a corner for a long while before it said he left) so it was just me and one other. We finally got into a great groove of taking turns shooting at that big thing while the other hid and we did it! So much fun to dance together during the 30 second counter.

I'm really having a blast with this game. I'm sorry not everyone is, considering the frothing hype the withdrawal threads contained.

I've played over ten hours and I'm only level 13 so there is that...

I Mean I can't believe people got so worked up over this game being "short"

Is this first Vex mission on Venus some sort of shit joke? (Hard)

Just endless teleporting in waves, including stupid giant splash damage spraying super-shielded dicks that sometimes even come in waves of three at a time? This is the game design that took so many years? "Teleport in another 20. That levels a wrap!"

Did Bungie set out to make the most boring game possible, or just happen across the formula by luck?

Again, just focusing on the progression and items and hoping that keeps me satisfied. In that sense, I'm easily amused. I did ask before but noone responded - can you get actual elemental weapons? I know they were mentioned at some point but haven't seen much mention of them.

You definitely can, I got a pulse rifle given to me that has elemental damage. Though that's also the problem with loot, it is so dull compared to other loot-based games. I'm just going to go buy a controller->keyboard converter and dominate in PvP as that seems to be the saving grace of Destiny.

Does that thing have a weak spot, me and some guys tried earlier and we were too busy being chased around by warlocks and Knights to find one

A streamer hit level cap about 5 minutes ago.

What is the end game like in this?

I do not own it yet so I am curious

I think we have to wait for raids to be implemented among other things. This will be a work in progress.

The sad part is this list is so long it really just says please make Destiny 2 and scrap this crap you sold us.

Not really. All that stuff can be added in patches / usually things that can be updated in a primarily online game i'd think.

Do people hate fusion rifles? I did pretty well with it in crucible. My friend told me its the worst weapon.

Fusion Rifles are awesome for close and mid range. Dont spread the word just yet though :p Popped a few people that were 4-5 levels higher than me in one shot.

Sure, keep drinking the cool-aid. Saying there should be no criticism is hilarious.

I Mean I can't believe people got so worked up over this game being "short"

If you took out the endlessly spawning enemies and did those missions again you're talking a few hours. Putting enemies in the way to pad out the hours so you can go to the next story mission to press square a bit more is a bit lazy if I'm honest.

Edit: and making each story level only accessible at a certain level meaning you have to grind to get those hours under your belt.

Click on the icon above your level where it has 3 people kinda on it and you can change it to invite only.

Friends only is the default.

I already said that icon is simply the "open party app" for xbox one. it has nothing to do with fireteam settings :(

I will be REALLY upset if bungie somehow forgot to add fireteam settings to the xbox version -.-

Without any warning, lag, or slowdown, I'm kicked out of the very end of a Strike bossfight that had lasted for 17 minutes. No internet connection issues either, everything is working perfectly - both wireless and wired connections.

Fuck you, Bungie.

If that is true then i guess it will take most raider 4~5 weeks to gear up on vender
legendaries about 4~5 hours a day. And with the way strike missions are done i wouldn't be surprised if you only got rewarded at the end of a raid and don't get loot from mini bosses.

Good, because the game is fantastic as it is at its core.

All it really needs are things like party up options, optional matchmaking for story missions, some kind of local chat when in the tower, clan support, etc...

Then just keep adding new content: strikes, raids, seasonal events, contests, etc...

If Bungie build in the right way the game is literally destined to be incredible.

Time will tell.

Fuck you, Bungie.

Fireteam leader kicked you cause he hated your armor color.
