Jacob lowered the binoculars. He used a trembling thumb to absently wipe at the ring of sweat that had formed around the eye cups. How long had he sat in the early morning summer sun, watching the tree? It hadn't moved. Of that he was certain.
Right?
The first building had proved the most difficult; barricaded doors, missing floors, nasty debris everywhere, a host of rats larger than some medium size dog breeds, and what was undoubtedly a section of three floors that housed dozens of Infected that someone or someones had very effectively quarantined. Slowly he cleared the path he needed to reach the roof. That was most of Tuesday. (He had no clue what day of the week it actually was but some things needed knowing and so he had started his own interior calendar for the purposes of purpose and some base sanity.) The vantage point on the roof was better than he hoped it would be, but it still wasn't adequate.
So he moved to the second building just before dawn on Wednesday. That building was mostly intact and free of anything particularly nasty, save some water that had pooled in the northeast corners of the lower four floors. Something was slithering about in that fetid tub of liquid but he never saw it. The roof proved exceptional for visual recon of the area except for that damn tree. He couldn't quite get a vantage point on the tree and so he had to move to the third building.
The old car yielded some treasures; a working flashlight and battery, a candy bar that was mostly in the realm of somewhat edible, a deck of nudie girl playing cards, three plastic water bottles, a "New Car Scent" air freshener that would make a perfect decoration for the hideout, and two cans of corn beef hash. Jacob made a makeshift tent out of some found tarp and sheets as he rested in the midday heat. The candy bar went down smooth all things considered as he contemplated the approach to the third building.
He came in from the west and the lobby beamed proudly in the dappled light of late afternoon. A colorful and pristine beverage vending machine caught the light in spectacular prisms and beams shot off of the chrome trim. Jacob was confused at the empty stock; he spent much longer than he should have examining the entire machine, but nary a scratch nor a pry betrayed how Houdini had made the contents disappear. A systematic search of the floors yielded little in the way of supplies but at last he made it to the roof as the last of the day's light slipped over the hard horizon. He made camp on the roof.
The sky opened up briefly and he cursed himself wearily as a smatter of rain woke him from a sad dream. Bailey was there, and she took Hailey from him and there was a tension and he didn't know why they were at odds. He never meant to leave them alone for that long, but it had happened, shit happens, it's times like these that people put their petty shit aside and deal with the real shit happening and-
He put the dream away and reminded himself to put up the damn tarp next time he slept on the roof. Now the sky gave way to scattered clouds and sullen winds as he brewed some sludge. It was going to be one of "those" skies today, he forecasted. But luck would find his side and after about an hour, the winds calmed and the clouds blew off to parts unknown and a brilliant but hazy blue draped itself over the land. He set up on the eastern side of the roof and began to watch the tree. His thoughts turned again to the dream and to Bailey and her sadness. What had that wo-

I know Daniel and talk to him from time to time and I believe a lot of his stuff comes from casting sources (not his trailer stuff, which is 100% legit), which can change drastically before something comes out.
He also told me one big Marvel thing that ended up being EPICALLY wrong.

TLOU was one of the best games I'd ever played but I'm absolutely sick to death of hearing about it by now due to oversaturation of the IP in the media, be it endless remakes, adaptations and socials. Not interested in having anymore games now, thanks.

It's going to be a game, similar to the last of us and the last of us 2, and may feature some new characters, as well as some returning characters

Makes sense why Neil said what he said in relation to a potential Part III.

Yeah, they have built a whole San Francisco open-world for TLOU Online in collaboration/with the advise of Bend. It would be incredibly weird for them going into this rumored spin-off to not want to capitalize on all the environement work done on the MP game.
I'll also go as far as saying that it isn't Neil helming this game, but a separate creative group within ND. Perhaps Shaun Escayg (co-director of The Lost Legacy), who completed work on the Part I remake pretty much at the same as TLOU Online began it's collapse.

The odds of that are less likely than Abby and Ellie making up, becoming lovers, and then going on a cross country search for a doctor to do their surgeries so they can live as a gay, male couple.
