My point is that because his hair does change, just like the NES look and the SNES look, it's probably based on something. I wouldn't be looking for a source if the hair stayed blond.

He might be like a mix between ALBW's two mail upgrades:

Blue tunic and blue cap with blue brim from the blue mail.
Green sleeves and dark leggings from the red mail.

Missing the yellow belt from both.

Really, Reflect Barrier was always my best powerup in Uprising multiplayer.

Fighting a magnus club? Time that Reflect Barrier.

Fighting ANY club? Time a reflect barrier.

Fighting a Lancer or Laser Staff? Reflect it up!

Your opponent going to use a Daybreak on you? HA! Use the Reflect Barrier. It'll completely shield you from that crud.

The other one was Black hole, but that's forced to be her Final smash. =\
