PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

It's a series that shouldn't have continued.

I see no reason for Masou Kishin when the very purpose of OG series was to be "the SRW of SRWs" and finally have one universe where Banpresto Originals are tied together. The only reason(speculation) I see is that it's a deal between Winkysoft and Bandai Namco to be able to use MaSou KiShin characters in exchange for job (aka the rebranding of MasouKishin to a "SRW OG Saga").

Oh, before you confuse yourself, OG series != OG Saga. Not sure if you make the distinction, but many people do.

I think they need to finish La Gias story so they could tie in the OG timeline later. Obviously they don't want to waste more time for La Gias, as we can see how it turned out in OGs 2nd, but then again I really like the Shuu DLC.
I just want to see all the Masoukishin machines in the glorious animation quality of OGs.

TOTP: Don't look for information regarding Danganronpa. Never. Play the games first.
Also, buy God Hand if you are in EU. It's a nice game that's on sale.

should I stock up on more PSN credit?
Target.com has the Buy One Get One 25% OFF promo now

that basically means a 12.5% discount for anything I buy on PSN
(makes getting games Day One a little more affordable I guess?)

Thanks for the suggestions!

I've played everything on the list on the original platforms (DC, PSOne, etc.) at release, except Grandia, Wild Arms and Gods Eater Burst.

I'm debating skipping Power Stone as I still have this on the DC, although having a portable version could be fun.

Thing is I have a piss-poor memory and my tastes have changed a lot over the years.
I remember enjoying Syphon Filter, but I'm pretty sure that even at the time it seemed janky. I barely remember playing Jumping Flash, and I know it was poorly received at the time, but I think this has gained a bit of a following in more recent times.

I think I'm leaning towards:
Silent Hill
Gods Eater Burst
Ridge Racer Type 4
Jumping Flash or Syphon Filter

That's not really true, it was pretty well received at the time of release. I mean, critics didn't rave about it or anything, but it got generally favourable reviews.

guess I'll buy DR2 soon.
wanted to go with SAO... but that would mean watching the anime first (which I don't really have the time now.. lol)

Considering you almost always buy games on day one, Do it.
Helps ease the pain when the games you've bought are on sale just a few months later without you even playing it.

Thank God the US PSN is on the Destiny fever right now. There are no sales at this moment and our wallets can rest for a little while LOL.

Does it work for the email delivery codes?

Edit: Seems to actually be in-store only, going by the flyer.

Tell me more about this offer please, how many hours is it still gonna be up? Does it apply for digital purchases and pre-orders?

Honestly, it is totally ok to not like stuff like that and to not want it in a game you are playing, but by calling it "creepy pervert shit" you are simultaneously calling it shit, and calling anyone who enjoys that stuff or doesn't mind it a creepy pervert. You undermine your argument when you phrase it like that. And I know you were just quoting someone else's phrasing, but perpetuating a negative phrasing is no better than starting it.

That's the real problem I have had with the "creepy pervert shit" hating lately. I don't care for fanservice, but it doesn't bother me. I know it does bother people, and they are free to avoid games that have it. What does bother me is people labeling anyone who likes fanservice as a pervert and automatically looking down on them for it. Just like what you like and let others like what they like.

Sorry for replying to this later.

I can't deny that in my mind I do label people who like that (the extreme games) as pervets, in a superficial sense and without thinking personally of others. I've noticed though that whenever I am friends with guys who happen to like those type of games, they have been very cool and easy going from my experience.

It's hard to break the habit of thinking that way in general, but I have been trying to be more respectful and I will definitely take what you said by trying not to perpetuate a negative phrasing or sounding insulting when sharing my opinion.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

There's this Neptunia game which was a remake of a PS3 game. Can't describe this since I didn't bought it and I'm not a fan of the series. Does not help that my friends who played the game are now saying things like Nep Nep uguuuu, OMG Black Heart is my waifu. Sigh.

LOL, I've also got that bug. .Though I plan to play these along with the Vita backlog after this thesis semester.

LOL, I've also got that bug. My steam library almost doubled thanks to the sales ( and that Newegg deal).Though I plan to play these along with the Vita backlog after this thesis semester.

Well, Black Heart's awesome so...

a fellow GAFfer, SmokeMaxX is helping with the purchases!

- PM him and tell him wilflare recommended you! (that doesn't get you any additional discounts. hahaha)

@Tizoc, I thought you knew about this. Think the SteamGAF thread mentioned it (it applies to eShop, Steam credit as well!)

thinking of spending another $100 on PSN and $100 on eShop... considering how such offers are very rare and don't come by often (and also how fast $100 is used up when major sales, etc come along).
but sigh :/

Machinarium @ 2.24€ is quite tempting, but I'm not into graphic adventures

Can't wait for Monday to finally start Velocity
and maybe passing that fn exam

I can't answer all of this but I do know SOTN works great on Vita. I don't think MGS works at all on Vita though...sadly.

Damn, in the EU store, Retro sale, Persona 3 Portable is just 9 GBP (was 25!). Seriously? I'm really considering triple dipping for this game. Have FES for PS2 and P3P UMD for PSP, but I think I want it on my Vita too... :o

What do you say GAF? Should I go for the game (for 3rd time) or let it be on my PSP UMD disk?

Playing R4 on my Vita = the best, don't even care about 50Hz. Will probably double-dip with the US version, though. What a game. <3
Psp ridge racers and r4 are my favorite of the series. One of the best arcade racers( if not the best) of psone. I remember how astonishing was seeing the intro for the first time and the graphics! And of course those 300 cars( I believe that was the number)

Yup, also it has that PSX era vibe to it that I really love. Game just oozes style and is just so much fun to play. Good times!

I don't think you will need to watch the anime, just read the character introduction to get the general vibe of their personality (honestly though, they are not that deep so you can easily understand them at first interaction), and a general setting of the game is enough.

Yes everyone should have P3P on their Vita!

(since you already own it: only if you plan to play it again. No need to spend money just to have a game sitting around your memory card. And P3P was already on several sales and probably will be again. But if you want to go back to the game in the relative near future, playing it on the Vita is certainly nice)

I haven't played it, but I really don't know if I could deal with the loss of actually walking around in the game. It seems like a trivial thing, but really feel it would kill the experience for me. I really hope they eventually do a "P3G".

That actually works really good in the game. Certainly not as nice to look at compared to the 3D environment but no where near a experience-killer in my opinion. Only for the ingame cutscenes it's an unfortunate downgrade.
But I would love to see a remake for the Vita with the advantages of all versions combined, as well.

Good to know. I might give it the benefit of the doubt at a later date then.

Machinarium is great. Wish they'd port Botanicula, it gets so little love, probably because it's on PC while Machinarium is on everything ever. Botanicula is better IMO but Machinarium is crazy worth 2 units of whatever currency

Exactly! :D

And I'm in process of replaying it (again) on the PSP, and then I will do the same for P4G, just before P5's release.

Also God Eater Burst is 4 GBP! ... Freedom Wars is a month alway, so replaying GEBmay warm me up for Freedom Wars. Should I buy GEB as well? Argh, decisions... decisions... :D

Yeah, Botanicula is great, I hope it'll find its way on Vita eventually.

Isn't Machinarium kind of a shitty port, though? IIRC it has vertical black bars or something similar.
