So if I want Vanguard equipment I need to level my vanguard rep, though if I have my dead orbit class item I have on I can only earn rep through them and not vanguard at the same time?

I'm a little confused.
Nope, you nailed it. Vanguard rep is the default, but if you put on a class item from a Faction you earn rep for the Faction. Marks are universal, but you need to build Rep to be able to buy the items with the Marks.

I feel annoying now.

My friend hit lv 22 while I'm at lv 20.

Fuck off luck base loot system. We are playing together but he has higher level than me.

Wow, Sunsinger feels to ... terrible :). Still can't tell what my super Radiance is doing besides looking awesome and punching people to dead. Can anybody help?

One of the smartest things Diablo ever did was the infinite amount of levels, end game, and you level quick. Tons of fast leveling, tons of gear exploding everywhere.

Did you play Diablo at launch? Gear was terrible and 90% of the time when something did drop it was considerably lower level than you were. Diablo at launch was a mess.

Yeah. The only moment I felt I actually had to figure something out thus far was during the Moon strike, where
the weak point was on the chest instead of the head like a normal ogre.
But even that was pretty freaking minor. I do find it funny that arguably the most complex strike boss I've seen is the Spider Tank from Devil's Lair, since at least that's got an order you have to attack it in.

Haven't played either of the Venus strikes yet, though.

I was actually gonna mention that, I do think the very first strike might be the best from that standpoint. It had a clear weakness and it opens up to let you do a lot of damage for hitting it.

There's another on mars I think though it wasn't the main boss that had something sort of similar. The rest were all just ammo dumps.

AFAIK Doesn't Radiance allow you to self-revive?
That's great in itself
Also, floating in the air while shooting

are motes of light only used to buy shit from the speaker? Any other uses, because right now I have enough to get a cool emblem, current Titan marks available aren't doing it for me though.

At the veeeeeeeery bottom of the tree it will.

But it seems rough to actually upgrade. Unlike the other subclasses, the super needs some of the modifiers to be worth a damn.

I noticed someone demonstrating how their installed DLC is supposed to look for the PS4 version (I'd like the post but I saw it yesterday so it's quite a few pages buried), and it showed all of the DLC that came with my purchase (Sparrow, Collector's edition content, Vanguard Armory, Season Pass), but this poster also had something called "Shader Download" or something like that (something that had "Shader" in the name I believe).

Did I forget to put a code in somewhere for this bonus shader thing? I bought the Ghost Edition and preordered from Gamestop, so I was under the impression that I had all of the bonus crap one could get from day 1.

There are cutscenes sprinkled throughout, but why does a game need cutscenes to tell a story? I personally prefer when the story is told through the environments/enemies/lore that surrounds the context of your missions. But yes, the "story" is definitely not the main focus it would seem (I haven't beaten the story yet but it seems that way so far).

It doesnt have to be cutscenes, it would have been great having ambient conversations in the tower or NPC's talking on planets. As it is, you basically just get the intro spoken sentence or 2 while flying to next mission, and some minor comments from ghost during the mission. Even the tower is pretty trivial in terms of NPC conversations.

I find it crazy how defensive people have got about this game. I fell for the hype by actually buying it, as I was on the fence since the Beta and the rumour of little content in the game (which turned out to be true). But my mate who has been absolutely buzzing for this game, even bought the Ghost edition can't seem to take any criticism about the game. He's loving it and get downright twatish whenever I say anything negative or take the piss out of something.

He thinks the voice acting is god-tier because Peter Dinklage is in it but doesn't actually sit back and realise how flat his performance is and the ridiculously cheesy dialogue. A few of my mates are the same. They just seem to be in denial at the moment. It's actually quite fascinating what some people are trying to defend in this thread too regarding this game.

I'm finding it fun but it falls short on so many fundamental mechanics that should be there. Especially for a Bungie game. And the content is lacking. If you took out the endlessly spawning mobs and tiresome grinding everyone would realise how little there is to this game.

I'll still be playing it for a few weeks with my mates as that's the only fun I'm getting out of it at the moment. I just hope the reviewers really nail down the negatives and hopefully Bungie take the criticism head on so that Destiny 2 can deliver :)

Am I alone in thinking the story missions are fun as hell? I'm into Venus now and thought every mission on the Moon was downright badass. Loved the environment, the structure of the levels, the boss fights, the horde fights, everything.

I've went back and ran Chamber of Night 4x now just because.

Ran Warmind yesterday 7x since it had the heroic bonus on there. Even found a Rare item yesterday from that mission.

Really, for me, the combat is so much fun anyway, put shit in front of me to kill in the most stylistic way I can come up with and I'm satisfied. That is why I love this game. I see 5 enemies in front of me and I do not think about sitting behind a wall and headshotting the dude. Nah I'm thinking about how best to dodge the incoming fire as I run up on the fools, toss a grenade behind them to keep them in front of me, toss a knife at one dudes face, pop another dude in the face with my HC, and when best to put on my slide and then come in with a shotgun blast to the last dudes neck.

Thats what I think about with each encounter lol. I like toying with the bosses ( except the moon ones so far! Those dudes are full frontal badasses and not smart to get close to ) like Septic Prime and jumping over em to punch and toss knives lol.

The game is plain fun for me. All the exploration and such like that I am doing ( current 3H gametime in patrol on Earth ) is just icing. Just something else to do before I go and find out how best to kill the next group of foes put in front of me with a new shiny toy that I may of found.

Oh, I figured out how to join someone else's Fireteam on XBO. Do it through View Gamercard, then Join Party + Game and then boom:

Fireteam

Yea. That's the one area I think the game needs serious work besides voice. I don't know if it's these console makers forcing them to use their systems. I suspect it is since you have to also go through PS4's interface to actually invite folks to your fireteam etc also but damn it really really is cumbersome. If it's the console makers are indeed forcing devs to do it this way then they should stop and give them access to whatever they need to allow them to be able to let you join fireteams, set up parties, etc from within the game itself. It only creates a better experience for the folks who use your system if you do.

I don't care about the game (as shooters simply can't interest me beyond the title screen), but I do have a technical question. I had a discussion with someone yesterday who claimed that Destiny is rendered in above 1080p. Based on knowledge of earlier PS4 games, I said that'd be impossible. So in short, my question is: what's the native resolution of the game? (And out of curiosity, does it have a fixed 30/60 fps?)

So the ports are open (I think) and I'm still getting centipede errors. Fuck's sake, I wait two days for my game to be delivered and now I can't even get it to work.

Are you at a University? Apparently the way they set it up, people whom go to school can't play?

Which I find hilarious.

You should have gotten a voucher for the Vanguard armory. Maybe a code on a slip of paper in the game case?

I got the digital guardian edition and it shows I have the vanguard armory add-on installed, yet I don't have access to the vanguard armory from the quartermaster in the hangar (level 11 currently), and no extra ship skin. I guess I'll try restoring the licenses when I get home.

While the story missions are fun (the first time, at least; no idea how you managed to stomach running them 4-7 times in one day :P), they're held back significantly by the... you know... story. Which is uniformly bad up until Venus, and then goes back to being bad afterwards.

You didn't quote him completely. You missed:

I feel the foundation for greatness is there with Destiny, but it just needs a "2.0" patch that tweaks and adds a bunch of stuff. The amount of gear needs to be increased significantly and I feel they really fucked up with the leveling. It's way too slow, and like the gear, there's not enough of it. One of the smartest things Diablo ever did was the infinite amount of levels, end game, and you level quick. Tons of fast leveling, tons of gear exploding everywhere. That's how you make an addicting game. I feel Destiny doesn't have any of the addicting carrots dangling in front of the player in end game for players to continue to play for long time after launch.

He was talking about the 2.0 patch Diablo 3 got when RoS launched which pretty much fixed the loot issues with that game.

Fixed 30 FPS. Since our TVs are 1080P there would be no point of higher resolution unless you were trying to downsample it which would be too resource intense for these machines at the current Image Quality.

I'm with you too, brother.

Nope you are not. Im enjoying the campaign a lot. So much that i refuse to play coop my first run thru them. I just want to take my time and get whatever story bits i can get.

But then i also read all the Grimoire cards and enjoy them as well.

Questions about subclass.

Can you only have one or the other?

I like the Defender subclass for my Titan, but I miss my Hulk Smash. :(

Any way to combine certain elements of each?

Do abilities relegated to subclass still gain EXP?
