So, all these bounties I've completed, I am not earning the Vanguard points because I'm not level 18, right? They just disappear? It's like I never even completed the bounties in the first place?

What the fuck???

You're earning vanguard experience, but not vanguard tokens (can't recall acutal name, sorry). Vanguard tokens can only be earned on strikes or raids if I remember correctly, which become accessible at lvl. 18. So calm down, you're not being cheated out of anything.

I am not sure I like this, I have not figured out how to play yet, I also don't like how the enemies lack weight, are enemies going into walls when they die something that happens in MMOs?

K- is there any reason I SHOULDN'T make an awareness thread for www.destinylfg.com? Anything that would be against gaming side policies?

Word. Thanks.

Guys, start using this- your experience will be improved, for seriously.

If their fireteam is set to public, you can just join from the R3-options menu without even needing to message them. But plenty of people don't do this.

Destiny |OT3| Press R3 to Fireteam ???

Bounties reset like every 12 hours or something. Do your bounties. You're missing nothing.

There is no way to screw up your character in this game. The only thing permanent is your base class and your appearance. Everything else resets daily/hourly/weekly.

I'm thinking I should repost the list. Lots of people seem to be ignoring it.

Though, I guess that's my fault for trying to make a master suggestion list. People will want to make their own.

Destiny |OT3| Press R3 to Fireteam ???

Destiny |OT3| You didn't even see this coming, did you?

I got super annoyed last night playing rumble. (Had a bounty to play 5 rumble matches)

I kept getting paired with this group of 3 that were in the same fireteam or something. They had the same Emblem too, depending on the map, they would post up in a place where you really cannot get behind them, and camp together to kill the people not with them. They wouldnt kill or shoot at each other. Just the rest of us. Really slowed the game down and annoyed the crap out of me. I would manage to run them out of their camping spot at times only to die from someone else coming to do the same, or from them returning to their spot. I once caught them running, three in a line, to the spot, and managed to kill all of them, but I feel like Destiny shouldn't allow parties into rumble.

The Crucible mode Rumble is listed above the Weekly Daily and Heroic on the map screen thingie. Why? Do I get special rewards for playing it -- and if so, is it just for today or the whole week?

Congrats! Crucible reward?
Yup.

Nice! Stats?

I'm not sure if this link will work, but if it does you can check out all the upgrades.

It says +50 Vanguard marks and +2000 XP for certain bounties. When I turn it in, I get the XP, it says +50 Vanguard marks on the right side of screen for a second before it disappears, but then my inventory still shows zero.

is it still worth doing bounties after hitting level 20?, im guessing this is the only way to receive faction marks?
Yep. You'll be getting vanguard/crucible experience as well as the marks which are used to get legendaries. And you actually continue to gain xp once you're past level 20. Once you "level up" you'll get a mote of light which you can use to get legendary gear from the Speaker.

The other way to get vanguard marks is to do the vanguard strike playlists.

I like this game but I wish it was current gen only. The image quality is pretty bad considering the level of the assets. Fantastic art style though

i see, so the only way to obtain these "light items" are through the speaker?, and if so, what stops someone grinding heaps of "mode of light" and then purchasing the best available light armor from the speaker?,

why would anyone consider purchasing anything lower than max?

I'm sorry I'm still trying to get my head around how light items work and where to find them

finally hit lvl 20 at 5am! what a grind. now how/where do I get LIGHT gear??

another question... anyone else notice a yellow border around some of the gear you have, some gear have a white border, whats the deal with the yellow? thanx.

So I found a spot in the nexus strike where the boss can't hit you often. The only thing you need to worry about are the minion spawns during the fight. If you go under the underpass where there is a huge block and crouch behind it the boss can't really touch you. You can attack from that spot but if you stand up be careful cause some of the explosions will hit you.

Yellow means you upgraded it to it's max.

Is there no way to take off an ability from a weapon once you get it? For instance, my AR leveled up and "Focused Fire" was an upgrade. I clicked it, didn't like it because it dragged the Fire Rate down. Is there anyway to disable it?

When it comes to vanguard and crucible marks and reps, what are the difference between marks and reps?

Marks are a currency. You need X amount to buy Y item.

Rep is a prerequesite. You need to be rank Z to buy Y item.

So you need to be rank Z and spend X marks to unlock the item.

Aw man, my new fancy AR has pretty bad stability. Need to upgrade that ASAP.

So does pretty much every AR look exactly the same in this? So far every one other than the starter looks exactly the same minus different coloring.

You're getting two different things confused, which is understandable cause it's all a clusterfuck once you level up enough. Motes of light are extremely rare drops which you can get from the crucible or by getting enough experience killing enemies. You use them to buy legendary capes/bonds/marks for your class from the speaker. That's purely cosmetic.

The OTHER light stat you're thinking of is more complicated. Basically, level 20 is the soft cap for Destiny. Once you get there, you can continue going on to level 21-30, I think, by equipping legendary gear. Legendary/exotic armor, gloves, helmets, etc have a new light stat once you're 20. You stack this light stat through this item which levels you up beyond level 20. The raid for example is at a minimum of level 26, so you're gonna need to grind crucible marks and vanguard marks to get stronger gear from the vendors.

I know this is all confusing and I'm getting confused typing it, but I hope it clears things up a bit.

True, but now there are a couple people making their own lists!

That's just redundant.

Redundant implies there's an end goal. If you're planning on doing something official with it maybe it should be an OP, people can contribute to it and you'd say, like, "Okay, in a week, Deej gets this and we all sign it" or something?
