How do I get more powerful weapons? I'm at level 13 and I'm still using the 99 damage weapon that you get sometime during the moon. All the weapons in the shop and the ones that I've come across are less powerful than my current gun.
I dunno what weapon you mean - it sounds like you just got a good drop. 99 damage isn't bad at all for level 13.just keep playing and check the gunsmith every so often, upgrades will come.

Maybe I'm not reading these weapon charts correctly, but how does something have 248 attack yet it's Impact is so low? Especially for a sniper rifle, wouldn't that low of an impact basically mean it's a pea shooter? Someone help me understand this stuff!

Impact determines how much of a drop off the damage has. So yeah, that sniper rifle would be bad for extreme ranges, it might have a short-scope option.

Impact is "the damage the gun does per bullet"

Correct. Range determines the drop off. Not Impact.

The Attack is a multiplier of sorts on the impact. The Attack is normalized for all weapons on normal PvP. The Impact is not.

If your weapon inventory is full and you receive a weapon in that type, will the game not give you the weapon if you have no open slot? If so, I just lost out on a great AR.

They definitely made the Earth Strike harder, or else I accidentally had that shit on hard...my team got wrecked...we finally beat it, but it took over an hour. I am fucking SPENT. I was planning on levelling up to ten tonight, but I need a break and some sedatives.

I really like this fucking game. Oh, I rock Titan!

Really happy with my knight armor set right now, shame that I have no black shaders yet, if any exist.

So fricking cool.

Titans are really underrepresented on here. I blame the lack of cape for people not wanting to choose them!

Does anyone know how those shaders work, once you reach level 20? Do you have to buy a shader for each piece of armour? Can you apply them to guns? Can you customise them?

How much experience you net for those strikes vs. bounties? I would normally have the gear I wanted leveled (weapons included) equipped when I turned in bounties and that xp would get dumped into them as well and would insta-level everything pretty quick.

Also..

....

So jealous right now.

Not sure wasn't paying enough attention to the experiance gain, but I did hand in a bounty and I leveled all my other gear (rares) fully, but the rifles first upgrade is about halfway through the wheel :P

And there are ALOT of upgrades for it (about double that of a rare weapon)

Did a Strike through the playlist. Got a Blue engram. When decrypted it gave me a Legendary Machine Gun. Hell yeah! Exactly the kind of heavy weapon I wanted. It even has stats I like (good stability, "Expect to find more ammo for this weapon," "This weapon grows more accurate the longer it is fired").

Finished the story and I'm level 20. To get light gear I now should be doing the strike playlists yeah? So I'm looking to get legendary armour?

Titan Mark is so much better than a cape.

Really loving the game so far, I'm a level 19 hunter. I've paused my progress with the story so I can go back and help my friends get to where I am so we can do the rest of the story together (just unlocked Mars).

You can do anything pretty much that drops loot. It doesn't have to be legendary armor to have a light stat on it, I do recommend sticking with either the Strike playlists or Crucible, whichever you prefer for better odds at a good drop though in my experience.

Shaders are basically skin packs, it will change the primary and secondary colour scheme of anything you wear to match the shader, example gold, or red and white, or black and blue, so forth.

You can buy some but also find others.

PvP solo is a coin toss unless it's rumble
PvP with friends is great, especially skirmish
PvE solo is how I prefer to do the story and patrol modes so i can move at my own pace
PvE strikes with friends are a blast

PvE strikes with randoms sucks especially if you die people abandon it so quickly fortunately ive been lucky to have people who keep going

I'm enjoying the game quite a bit actually. I just fought one of the demon things and got to level 3. Even though I'm not huge into FPS games, there's a certain element to the exploration, level and enemy design that makes combat rewarding, especially with the mini boss that I just fought.
I have to take it back because it's a rental, but maybe when the price goes down a bit I'll pick it up.

What's your cryptarch rank?

Ugh, so I have a sorta off topic question, but I can't hear ingame audio AND chat at the same time through my PS4 gold headset. Only one or the other, and it's annoying to my group of friends to hear my game audio.

I tried changing the audio bitstream, and other things....anyone had this problem before?

There is a button to change the volume of game sound and chat sound on the headset itself

I don't have the headset, so I'm not an expert but first check your Voice Output Settings in the Destiny settings menu.

For the headset I think it should be set to Blended.

Also, see this article: http://www.bungie.net/7_Audio-/en/Help/Article/11933

Hold PS button adjust devices. In there you can set game and chat through headset.

Also in game make sure it's set to blended.

Is anyone needing the Destiny Expansion Pass and the Vanguard Digital Content codes? I got an extra in my limited edition.

First to quote reply gets it. Please only reply if you don't already have it :)

If attack is normalized for all weapons in PvP, does this mean high impact is good for PvP?

I just learned about the Friends only option.

So what happens if I invite someone with it set to Friends only? Would they get the invite notification that I sent them to join the fireteam, and get rejected because my party was set to "Friends only"? There was one newbie who was going at it alone in the middle of nowhere and he kinda followed us, and I sent him to invites but nothing happened and I wonder if that explains why?

Yes, but being good is much better.

No, if you send an invite to someone they can always join you if they choose to accept it. If you have a Friends Only fireteam, friends can join your team without an invite. Private is "invites only."

"Public" means anyone can join your fireteam without an invite and is thus the best option. unfortunately it inexplicably fucking resets when you log out, so you have to set this every single time you play.

This is my lvl 24 Titan right now:

Really happy I found a legendary shotgun because I like this weapon class as my secondary. Pretty cool description as well. ;)

Hey man
How come it says light 54 if you are level 24 ?
I am level 22 and it says light 22...

It's normally a give and take between impact and rate of fire, so high impact isn't necessarily better.

A gun with a high rate of fire and low impact is more forgiving if you miss one or two shots.

A gun with a low rate of fire and high impact is less forgiving if you miss one or two shots.

They keep actual dps balanced between guns of the same level/rarity, so it's normally better to choose something with a high rate of fire. However, you also want to keep in mind the map you're on, as most high rate of fire guns have sucky range.
