Yeah even a week old and people are already bored with the extremely low amount of content. I expected at least 8 or 9 strikes. 2 On each planet.

Im sure they are holding back content to sell us later.

Most likely true but I'm curious - how much content equivilant did halo have? Wasn't it an 8-12 hour campaign? In that sense, strike missions alone would be enough to have a similar hour count, let alone replaying them or upcoming raids.

I just find it interesting, I guess it's all about expectations but it feels like destiny has an appropriate amount of content when compared to bungies previous titles. People are just eating it up super fast

The mp on the other hand... Well, that's missing a ton of features and variety :(

This reminds me of the beginning of WoW where some people were lvl 60 in a few days, complained about the lack of endgame and quit.

I'm lvl 10 now and having an absolute blast.

Well Halo's campaign was much better and more varied missions.....

Welp I have just gone out and bought Three copies of Destiny (one for myself and the other two for two awesome friends to treat and get them to join in) for the PS4 and caved in from the impressions and good feedback on here. Damn you guys, my wallet feels a lot lighter now haha!

Yeah, Bungie's weird with matchmaking. I wonder if it's more a philosphical thing or a manpower problem?
I sure would love to play some of these missions in matchmaking.

I think it's kind of ridiculous that you have to wait for the PSN invite page to load to send an invite in game (this goes for any game, not just Destiny). You should be able to just press one button in-game and send out an invite quickly.

If the person is on your Friends List, then in-game they can hit Options, press L1 until they reach 'Roster', click on your name then on 'Join Fireteam'. Much less painful than using the PSN system.

Those Vanguard Strike missions are a lot of fun. Seems like the sweet spot for me as far as my experience goes with Destiny so far after completing the story (so far). Sorta like Halo's Firefight but evolved.

Halo isn't a loot grinder though. Destiny may technically be much larger, but lack of variety (for the type of game) actually makes it feel small.

In Destiny you play 20 hours until engame, at WoW Launch you had to play over 100 hours to reach the engame content. I guess most people played 150-200h on their first ride from 1-60 nearly ten years ago.

Anyone else having an issue with the iphone version of the companion app?

It was working fine, then two days ago it started to fail to load my characters. You just get the tap to refresh characters message.

I can click in my profile at the top and then click in my characters there to view stats and stuff, but I can't view my grimoire, or tower map from the main menu.

I've tried deleting the app cache, signing in and out with both PSN and Live and deleting the app and reinstalling.

Anyone got a workaround?

Is this supposed to be like this?

I got a rare chest armour (Nemesis Plane II) and levelled it up enough to unlock one of the three things I could unlock on it. Two of those unlock things were things that appear in the info box when you hover over the armour in the menu.

So, I unlocked an upgrade, hit triangle and clicked the first (leftmost) option in the grid of circles than you can select and it upgraded my hand cannon ammo capacity. Permanently. But I really actually totally wanted to upgrade my shotgun ammo capacity instead. Which was the rightmost option in the upgrade menu, not even next to the hand canon one.

It's locked isn't it? I can't change it/have both, can I?

Fuck, that's bad UI, Bungie!

See this is the kind of shit, I don't get..social game with barely any social features.

If it had matchmaking you'd be in here complaining how shit everyone is and how they never have mics or proper setups to beat it ;)

Just ask here on GAf there are SO many players. Fill your friendslist with them and you always have someone to play with.

You can have both. You just have not yet unlocked the Shotgun ammo upgrade. They unlock from left to right. When upgrades are in a column, those are the ones you will have to choose between (but once unlocked you can swap between upgrades within a column freely).

Honestly, that's basically the same as matchmaking but way more cumbersome.

when it's all said and done if you've got a beer and a pair of headphones this is an awesome game. it looks good and to my eyes most of the frame rate issues from the alpha/beta have been resolved. it feels right and the loot-get is addictive.

man, the crucible/multiplayer though. a real slog. any tips on making the crucible more enjoyable? should I just level?

play with GAFfers in a party. coordinate and fight together.
pick your weapons depending on the mode/map.

it is SO much more fun with a team.

But this no mmo. And Bungie aint Blizzard.

True.

But to complain about endgame after the game has been released 3 days ago seems a bit weird to me, especially when I noticed that Bungie already planned some new content in the coming weeks.

Oh well, different people different opinions.

I just did "The Devil's Lair" as a level 8 Titan...

I honestly do not think I've had that much fun in an FPS/MMO for a very, very long time.

It is almost criminal how fast my new Rare hand cannon reloads lol. Everything about my current gear / build setup revolves around fast reloads. And the gun itself is designed to get a major boost in reload speed after a precision kill, which is all a HC is for anyway. It is like a short range scout rifle with WAY more power. I have Chain of Woe activated + the guns ability + my Arms piece which increases reload speed for HC's, etc. Good lord. I can unload my clip and reload in probably .1 seconds. I'll have to post a video of the reload speed tonight lol. Its so funny to watch.

Im having a little bit of a hard time adjusting the feel of the controls after playing Battlefield and Titanfall. I noticed that compared to some other shooters this game seems to leave a larger dead zone in the joy sticks. Anyone else having a similar experience?

Did it yesterday for the first time since beta, really had to get used to it being harder than the rest for a bit, that first bit where you have to survive 3 waves of enemies can be pretty hard. Damn those Vandals! ;-)

But in the end we finished it and it indeed was a lot of fun, can't wait for the Moon Strike.

I hit 20 earlier this evening and have been playing crucible ever since then. I thought I read somewhere that after 20 you still get xp, but you get motes of light in return. I have not gotten one yet and can't tell where to track the progress towards get a mote of light.

Reposting from a few pages back.

Eh wut. My next objective to complete the exotic weapon bounty is to get a kill/death spread of 25 in the crucible.

What the fuck does that even mean. I mean I have an idea but that can't be right.

Oh ho ho ho.. just wait, the other ones are even more fun. Are you sure you are having fun though? Its not just hype tricking you into thinking you're having fun? /s

Got drunk and bought Destiny digitally last night (after trading it off for D3 originally). Glad I did because the game IS fun despite the social short comings. I'm only level 7, but I'd LOVE to party up this weekend and experience the group stuff this game offers.

Moon Strike will blow your mind then.

One of my favorites definitely. Intense as hell final battle.

One thing I noticed. Those codes from before that people were listing, I don't have any of those Shaders in my inventory ....

I did enter the codes prior to even owning the game and prior to launch. So am I just SOL?

So if you are on a level and go to roster it wont allow you to see clan mates in the game? you can still only see friends? what is the point then?

Where can you copy and paste friend requests for PSN?!

you don't see your clan in-game apart from an emblem on your tag.
So far clans are just a way for a community to discuss and, eventually, plan game sessions.
In order to do so, either you're stuck to your PC or you need the Destiny app.

I'm on windows phone, so fuck me I guess.

and no, you can't copy/paste lists of people. and that sucks. because fuck sending 20 friends requests..when back from work with that itch to go play immediatly some crucible matches until some of my PSN friends are online for some PvE.

If people need a titan, a friend, a
average only at FPS ;-)
lover, feel free to add me. PSN : feronantus

also I love this game. and I'm starting to see how this is a love letter to the people who spent too much playing Halo. I hate grinding. I only did for the major Square games of the 90's. I think people don't give Bungie enough praise for making FPS grinding a palatable experience to average players looking for a sci-fi fix with great mechanics.

Bungle loves us whether you hate the Crucible or can't find people to join your fireteam.

I was not prepared for the moon strike... That strike effectively kicked my ass for a while. I ended up coming back to it after I leveled up a few more levels... I got good at reviving my teamates on that strike.

Ha! Made me laugh.

Cool! Makes me even more anxious.
Should be playing it this weekend cause FINALLY I can play the game longer than 2 hours then. (work getting in the way this week...)
