What do folks think is the most difficult strike so far?
Mine has to be that one in Mars where you fight those three robot dudes.

Depends where you turn it in. You can get marks/rep and glimmer.

Man, the crucible has been cruel to me lately in terms of giving me loot after games. I played around 8 or 9 matches last night and only got a single crummy common gauntlet. Lame.
You're given a small amount of glimmer and either vanguard points or crucible points depending on who you turn 'em in to. Either the crucible vendor or the Vanguard armory dude respectively.
edit: Beaten like the 100 or so hunters I slayed last night in the crucible.
I'm actually kinda disappointed in this only because were also not allowed to use alien weaponry. Do any of the primary weapons even do elemental damage?

Holy shit, I was farming for high level engrams as shown in that video posted a number of pages back, then all of a sudden a giant battle broke out and high level level Fallen and Vex with yellow bars popped out of nowhere, from all directions. Even as a level 23, I was struggling to prevent myself from getting overwhelmed, they were so many.
It was nice to get the opportunity to use Fist of Havoc on large groups though. It saved my ass.

Mind telling me what that farming method is? It's difficult to dig through this massive thread.
Thanks. I didn't know if they were used for some later crafting or not. Suppose I'll just get some points.

Ah ok. That seems reasonable. I'll have to keep track of what everyone gets from now on. Still got all the Venus/Mars Golden chests to find.

Man I'm surprised I passed the 5th mission in old Russia by myself , while waiting for the iPhone to release online I decided to play and jeez I was sweatn' during the final part of the mission but my level 4 titan did it 
Plus it unlocked multiplayer and I am so close to level 7 after playing 4 matches, really fun

First Salvage. Not fun. Alpha team much higher level. Mote light everywhere. Rest of squad nothing but Revive X's again and again. Alpha hits 10,000 at last. We'd never cleared a single node.

Yes they're used to upgrade some weapons later on. TBH it's not really worth turning them in for the small amount of glimmer and rep. I'd hang onto at least 50 or so.

You have to go in and kill them I think. When enemies enter the bubble, I'm able to kill them.

I'm assuming it depends on how they're traited, but it's very possible for that to be suicide unless you have a super x.x That extra barrier and health regen and shit can make people inside pretty much invincible to other stuff, even a shotty to the face followed by Blink Strike resulted in my own demise earlier x.x
everytime i've tried this i seem to do no damage. even point blank shotguns and 2-3 melees and i've had titans go completely unharmed while inside the bubble (terrible players obviously to let me do this... but yeah).

ah, so it does give them crazy boosts and for all intents and purposes i should treat them as invincible. got it. so, wait it out or run away it is. hurrah for bring back the game halting armor lock bungle... ugh
awesome, yeah. I can use that to lvl my cryptarch too
I get killed inside it all the time but I haven't properly level'd defender yet.

Holy shit yeah this place can be brutal as fuck. I stumbled upon it by myself doing a patrol and I almost got wiped the fuck out when a high level Vex popped in. I was using it to clear the Vex bounties for killing Ultras.
Good to know that it can be farmed.
That Venus farming spot O_O gonna try that at some point today.
Hopefully I can find a Hunter legendary and also a Shingen-E today. A couple different people said the Shingen-E was even better than the Shingen-C in PvP and I really want to test that out. The C is amazing so if the E is even better... oh man.

Honestly, I don't have much confidence in matchmaking for the heroic strikes. I did it last night and basically everything's yellow, insanely powerful and you can't revive yourself. There's no "Shit you're the last one out there, stay alive!" it's "Shit, we're both dead, you gotta save us and not die in the process" lol. The Nightfall is even more unforgiving, if everyone dies instead of being sent back to a checkpoint you're kicked to orbit @_@ on top of having a ton of other modifiers.
Some gear does use them for lvling up too

At what level does the weekly strike become doable? A couple buddies and I tried it immediately after completing the story on Wednesday and got demolished. I get that we'll need arc gear.
Now we are roughly around level 22, pushing 23. Defender, Bladedancer, and Sunsinger. Should it be doable now?

Had a titan try to bubble on me last night while I had arc blade up. Ended poorly for him.
I think when I did it we were all 22/23. And I didn't have an arc weapon which held us back some.(I did, but it was a shotty so....)
Did that too and totally gimped in Crucible but still trucking! The super is a res and buff? Never had a chance to use it on any team mates yet though
Still, the way it's setup you can't even play them if you don't have any friends online playing Destiny.
I mean I've done matchmaking for several strikes and have gotten paired with some pretty bad players so I know how it feels as I've had to revive people 20+ times in certain strikes and at the end we simply couldn't beat it because my teammates couldn't stop dying. With all that being said I'd still rather be able to play then not play at all because not a lot of the people on my friends list have Destiny.

Yeah I had a shotty. Didn't help much, heh. I mostly used my void shield as a means of rezzing someone. There's no specific locations to get arc based weapons is there?
