Forza Horizon 2 Launch Trailer

It was ok. Terribly overrated.
No it wasn't. It was a fantastic racing game that was actually fun to play. Each time a new gran turismo would Come out we would hear about how it had 1000 cars and the gameplay was so boring.

Pgr4 had the graphics, music, gameplay and it was fun as well.

The controls were amazing and I still think it hasn't been topped as a racing game.

Aw man, the only thing missing is some Next Car Game crashes. And maybe the ability to draw and race your own routes. You wouldn't need any other racing game.

That's what made that one track in Dirt 2 so awesome. You could go faster if you wanted to, but you kind of didn't. Because this.

Unfortunately Pikes Peak was only in the first Dirt game. My god, I would do damn near anything to see that course (old, pre-paved version) in a game. That was one HUGE oversight in the first Horizon considering it TOOK PLACE IN FUCKIN COLORADO!!!

*ahem*

Anyway, I want to see some proper hill climb courses in Horizon 2. The game is pretty much made for those and I just can't believe they would leave them out again.

I find this just awesome: Ralph Fulton, creative director at Playground, getting love from Julian Gerighty, creative director of The Crew!

No Evo giving out love? Would be cool to see all 3 studios wishing a good time once all 3 games are out on market.

Off the topic - Has any one bought game from Gamepointsnow before? They are selling the game (digital code) for £35. I am planning to order from them but I'm not sure If it will be redeemed on my gamertag (Saudi Arabia). Although, I bought Titanfall code from eBay few days back that a person as selling which came free with Xbox One in UK. And was redeemed successfully.

Any idea?

This trailer has me dangerously close to pulling the trigger on buying an Xbox One this month....

Not sure I can justify another $400 purchase when I already have a PS4 that isn't getting much use, but this + Master Chief collection is very tempting. The original Forza Horizon is tied with PGR4 as my favorite racing game of last gen and this looks equally fantastic.

Those 2 games alone should be enough to justify a purchase. There's also Sunset Overdrive coming out in October. 3 exclusives right there, plus many more next year. I think you should take advantage of some of the XB1 deals available right now, so you could get 2 free games, and you could sell them to get some money back.

Either that, or you could get the 360 version of Horizon 2. :P

I thought it was the same shit as MSR with faster and faster cars, some cool stuff like the snow at the Nurburgring but never cared for the city track layouts at all.

Without some interesting driving mechanics like Forza/GT I got bored quickly.

Ah, so you're a sim racer fan?

Nothing wrong with that, but that doesn't mean PGR wasn't arcade racing perfection. It hasn't been better. Will it happen with DC or Horizon 2?

Time will tell.

Why, oh why Microsoft wouldn't release an HD remaster of RSC2 ? The game still looks great, even 10 (!) years later thanks to its great aesthetic.
Make it 1080p, keep it locked at 60 fps like the original, that's all you got to do. I'd honestly pay full price for this.

Speaking of RSC, I think DICE's work on NFS Hot Pursuit's environments showed they clearly still had it at crafting beautiful scenery. I still dream of an RSC3 made by them. :(

I have a constant battle going between getting XBOX 1 vs PS4 and I'll pull the trigger in either Christmas or the Summer. This game looks to be a strong point for XBox. I'm an amateur racing fan but I used to love the old Grand Turismos on PS2. Will this game be a lot better than Driveclub?

My ongoing top exclusives battle.

XBOX - Master Chief Collection (never owned these games), forza horizon 2, titanfall

PS4 - Bloodborne, Uncharted 4

I was sold on ps4 but it's getting heated, I don't know why I have so much fun doing this...

Every RSC fan, I'm sure, dreams of DICE finishing what they started. Though not 60fps, I'm hopeful for FH2 to have an absolutely awesome rally experience...as long as they create a more even package than the one for FH1.

The worst part about PGR was the damn cone challenges, i hated them!.
The games were great overall but those damn cones lol
That was the only thing I remember about the actual driving in the game.

That, Geometry Wars arcade machine and wandering around the show rooms testing out the cars.

Geometry wars was the funnest part of the game for me.

Forza Horizon 2 Hands-on Preview

The most influential change comes with a dynamic weather system that makes its way to the Forza series for the first time. I had the chance to see it first-hand, and the addition has a spectacular effect on the game, even just in a visual sense. Not only will you see puddles and rain fall, but you can also see how it physically alters the material in the game. I saw rain fill up potholes in the roads I was travelling on, and I also saw rain drops fly off of the back of my car as I screamed down the field (yes, field) trying to get first place in a race. What was nice to see was how the weather could change even in a short span of time. One minute I’m in a downpour, and five minutes later I’m racing towards a rainbow in the distance. It was on full display when I played Horizon 2, and it was beautiful.

At the end of my experience, there was a lot to like about my time with Forza Horizon 2. It definitely feels like a step-up from the first game, especially in the visual and weather components, yet still keeping what made Forza Horizon so great – sexy cars, a deep soundtrack and a gorgeous vista to explore. While I didn’t see a ton of the map, it definitely feels more unique and distinct. What I know for sure is that I can’t wait to explore it more, and what I’ve played makes me confident in saying that Forza Horizon 2 will do just fine this fall in a crowded racing lineup. Xbox One might have its first, true exclusive killer app.

I can't stress enough how much of an non-fan of racing games I was before Horizon 1. I still think it's better than PGR4 (I played it the first time after Horizon) I spent more time with it just cruising slowly listening to the soundtrack than with GTAV as a whole. I'm freaking excited for Horizon 2 and after everything I've seen I bank on it being my GOTY 2014 just like H1 when it came out.

It looks really cool but I hope that there is more weather variety because in videos there is only rain and clear sky.I hope for some overcast or thunderstorms.PGR4 was really amazing in that area.

There's everything from night to overcast and foggy in the videos.

I know that there is night but I never saw overcast or foggy weather without rain. It's always that transition from clear day to rain and back to clear day with wet roads.Maybe I just missed it :)

Dont have an XOne, but I really like the way this game is shaping up. Been hungering for an open world racer since Burnout.

What really gets me is the perks/tuning. Seem like really cool additions.

Came to the conclusion I will indeed be getting it the end of this month. the forza 5 early access thing was too much a tease and I need this. Driveclub can wait its on ps+ anyway.

funny, those were by far my favorite. wish the auto-cross in forza mimicked them rather then just be a TT

Anyone know if the cars in the reward tiers are available in game or if they are only available if you meet the requirement? Or am I completley wrong and they are just "gifted" to your garage instead of having to buy them meaning they are available in game?

They will be available to buy or win in the game. It's just that they are gifted into the player garage for Forza Rewards.
