Do we still not have a consensus on strange coin farming?

Not that I know of x.x

They come from tons of things though. Like, completing a public event can give mats including them. The package for having completed a public event can as well. Blue+ engrams can give them, crucible can give them, completing weekly strikes... I dunno if they can be a normal reward from strikes, never seen them there.

I feel like crucible could be one of the better options, since you can both get engrams and have a chance of strange coins dropping.

One mote of light per "level" past 21. Can be used to buy from speaker or strange coin vendor.

You can find them in chests out there in the world or as PVP rewards. You get 3 for doing the weekly heroic and 1 for gold on a public event once per day.

You're probably right in terms of the psychology of disappointment. The fact remains though the game has been out for less than a week and people are going to have to either focus on other things or adjust their expectations if they don't want to end up raging over truly random rolls.

Honestly, I think I'd prefer if Bungie just tweaked the Engram chances a little. Not every piece of gear has to be better than the ones you have (nor should they), but you shouldn't be able to decrypt a legendary engram that was your only piece of loot in from your last Strike, only to find that it's just a Rare item 2 levels too low, or a handful of crafting items. That just shouldn't happen.

Is anyone even bothering with grinding out enough vanguard or crucible marks to buy some of the legendary gear from the vendors? Or is everyone just playing till they get them from drops?

Last I looked the Legendary gear not only takes the proper Rep level but I think each piece takes more than a weeks cap worth of Marks. I think a lot of people who aren't used to that mechanic would rather get them from drops. I mean.. I think everyone would RATHER get them from drops.. but they're just not used to having to spend that much time gearing up.

I think my best strike run yet involved me at Bladedancer (Gunslinger if Arc damage is a bit strong), a Defender Titan, and Sunsinger Warlock.

Eh.. I'd be more inclined to have Bungie give more guaranteed loot at the end of Strikes but have it more likely to be lower quality (green/blue so then people could dismantle for parts) and materials. If they raise the loot chances for Legendary and Exotic too much, then people will gear too quickly and instead of frustration.. people will just be bored waiting for the newest content (which they will then blow through super fast and end up bored again).

Does anyone know how to get an
exotic
bounty? Do you have to
complete every single bounty on show or is it random
?

Yeah that's what I was kind of coming to terms with when I realized how long it would take to get the rep level and marks needed. I was accepting it would take me quite a while to get legendary gear, but now I'm seeing you can just get lucky and get them from drops right away. Kind of makes all that time saving up pointless, expect for the gear that's exclusive to the factions.

Why do I keep getting sent in alone for the weekly lv 22 strike? I thought there was matchmaking for these. When I did others with a friend, a 3rd person was always added.

Yeah this really bummed me out a bit. It's hard for me to get two of my friends on at the same time for stuff these days (being old is terrible).

Was hoping the only stuff I'd miss out on this game were Raids. Still a wonderful game and I've gotten 6 Strange Coins from Crucible and failed Legendary Engrams, so all is not lost.

Bungie needs to stop being idiotic about not allowing matchmaking on some modes. Doesn't making fucking sense. I have no words for whoever is in charge of these decisions.

Oh you can do the weekly if you want. You know, solo it.

I can't access it all. Neither the daily or the weekly shows up on the main map screen.

That would work too. The way I see it, you can either have your loot be sparse but generally good, or frequent but often bad. The sparse and often bad combo we're seeing now with the Legendary engrams just doesn't work.

Well, you have to consider that actually gaining the Rep and Marks allows you to custom tailor your gear stats to support the build you want to run. You can definitely just wait for drops and you may get plenty, but there's absolutely no guarantee that it's going to actually compliment your build. So while you may technically be geared enough for Nightfall missions or Vault of Glass... if the stats don't support your Build sufficiently, you won't be operating at the best efficiency that you can.

Ideally.. you would use what you can from drops while continuing to get Rep and Marks so that you'll have a varied set of gear to choose from.

Bungie have never been good at story.
If someone asked you to tell them the basic plot of any of the halo's, you would be just as lost.
If someone asked you to tell them the basic story of Oni, your brain would probably implode.

They're all super forgettable, even though the halo lore is actually quite deep, because the story mode is paper thin to guide you to the next mission and nothing more.

Basic plot of Halo (1) Crash land on space donut after running away from aliens. Meet up with survivors and cool military guys, learn what your are on (halo, built by old ass aliens, designed to blow stuff up, also has a bunch of different aliens that are super bad on it), travel about getting a thing to put somewhere or something (forgot this part), Snowy bit with purple penis planes, end bit, drive jeep while halo blows up and go into a ship and go home.

I think.

No one played Oni so no one cares.

If anyone's like me and the Vanguard armory DLC didn't work (weapons not available at level 5), go to the PS4 system menu, then PSN, then restore licenses. Then start Destiny. That worked for me.

And by design you kinda can't not do that. You're earning those things by playing the game if you keep your bounties up.

Just did the Daily Heroic, I think I'll really enjoy these. Got a rare engram during it and there was a public event in the middle of it for which I got 5 marks... pretty cool.
Any reason why I don't ever get anything from crucible rewards at the end?
It's just true randomness. you could get a legendary the next 10 matches in a row for all we know :P

And how do people level up the Cryptarch so fast? I give him all of the engrams I come across and use all of my money to buy engrams... I'm at level 11 and he hasn't level upped once...
