Rick and Morty really is fantastic...I just wish it had better animation, character acting, and art direction (Like, if it looked and moved like a Genndy cartoon or Steven Universe it would be the best thing since sliced bread)
The writing really saves that show from just being another mediocre-looking/moving adult-focused cartoon. .

This is all sorts of wrong, it has a very specific(though simplistic) art direction and it would be terrible if it borrowed anything from the travesty that is Steven Universe.

This is all sorts of wrong, it has a very specific(though simplistic) art direction.

The art direction in R&M is amateurish at best (you can tell that it's origins lye in some sort of low budget internet cartoon), and the animation/character acting is incredibly weak. Visual storytelling isn't that show's strong suit.

I don't care what you think of SU but that show excels at (tv-budgeted) character acting, animation, and art direction
Also, I don't understand why you chose to focus on "Steven" when I had other examples in my post that used prolific tv-focused animators/creators who make well-written and well-animated cartoons with great art direction.

The 2nd official episode was 10x funnier than the first episode. For whatever reason my DVR says this past Sunday's was episode was 01 and the premiere was 02. Did they accidentally air out of order?
