PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

But does the Sony store ship internationally? If not, then it's not an option to begin with.

Almost certain it doesn't, just a comparison to what it actually costs vs. what nin-nin is charging. I'm very curious what exorbitant price Play-Asia wanted before it went out of stock there, though.
Buy Demon Gaze!

3DS doesn't have as many good games as Vita this year or in its lifetime. I can prove it with Metacritic.

Only kind of joking.
I can't disagree with that. I'm just caught up in the 3DS hype right now since 3DS is getting Theatrhythm, SSB, Persona Q, and Pokemon OR/AS soon, while Hatsune Miku PDF 2nd is the only Vita game that I plan on buying day one. :P

I was much more hyped for SSB on 3DS until I actually played the demo. My hands still have yet to recover, I find the 3DS ergonomics to be awful (this is playing on an XL) and it really hurt my hands trying to play smash. Both hands too, the circle pad has so much resistance that it makes my thumb cramp up after a while. I find the 3DS to be fine for turn based or relaxed pace stuff, but twitch or heavy action stuff like smash hurts my hands. Wii U version is going to be far and away where most of my Smash time will be.

Totally hyped for Persona Q and Pokemon OR/AS though, a little less so for Theatrhythm since I literally just bought the first game and am a little burnt out (and I much prefer the rhythm game mechanics of Miku to the annoying swipe based of Theatrhythm, but god FF music is great).

More on topic with Vita though, I am giddy with excitement waiting for Binding of Isaac Rebirth and I am very interested in Freedom Wars even with the talk about it being mixed. That plus my heavy backlog means that even with Persona Q and Pokemon OR/AS I still think I'll be playing more vita than 3DS in the next few months.

In my dream there is a division inside Sony that's called "Vita Localization" working to bring all Japanese Vita games outside. Look like even in dream I don't care if Sony's games exist on the Vita or not.

If that was Sony Asia, i'd believe that.

SCEA sucks.

Now that i think about it are we sure that Sony won't kill the "Vita Localization" team?

Maybe i'm wrong but recently there weren't many localization announcements.

The localization team isnt for Vita. They are probably doing Bloodbourne

Bloodborne?
Are we talking about the same thing? I was referring to a team that was formed to get and localize Japanese third party games, IIRC we are getting Tales of Hearts R and some other game thanks to it.

I don't think so :). I mean, the two big projects they had this year (Borderlands 2 and Tales of Heart R) didn't cost that much with the former being funded half by 2K and half by Sony (meaning, not that expensive to port) while the latter is just working something out with Namco Bandi to make it happen (either Sony pays for the translation while Bamco pays for the development or vice versa).

They from the looks of it, don't have a massive bugdet to work with (maybe getting 1-3 game projects a year), so they will still be around at least for another year or so (until Vita support fully ends).

Wait for New 3DS?
That's what I plan on doing.

I hear that the new Theatrhythm has a button control option. I still prefer Miku though. :)

Are you planing on getting Smash Bros? The Wii U version isn't coming till late November (if that 22nd leak is right), so you can play that till the Wii U one comes out :). I have to admit, I am also interest in getting a Nintendo system this fall (either a 3DS or Wii U; dat line up of games man XD!).

When is the last time a pre-existing PSP game was brought to vita? That is, I'm not talking about new release psp games (like, say, Class of Heroes 2) but rather existing PSP games getting vita support? Iirc a few that were transferable got upgraded to fully compatible (Jeanne D'arc, for example) but i'm talking ones that have never been compatible.

Has it happened in recent memory? (and I'm not talking about the glitch a few months ago, I know about that and made limited use of it).

I don't have a 3DS either, so not right now. It's on my wishlist though.

Looking forward to reading some reviews for Murasaki Baby tomorrow. Be interesting to see how that one will turn out. Good I hope.
I didn't know Murasaki Baby was coming out so soon. I remember it was one of the few games that Baekshi seemed to enjoy at E3, which is probably a good thing.

You're recommending Demon Gaze? Wow Demon Gaze huh?

GREAT!!!

Yeah it looks kinda gross ;/

Guess we are in the same camp :). I debating whenever or not I will just wait till next year (when the New 3DS launches) or just buy a used/refurbished XL/2DS from Gamestop then trade that in toward the New 3DS whenever it launches.

I've been out of the Nintendo loop since 2011, so it will be really nice to hop back into some great Nintendo games this fall :D!

Just for 3DS alone, I can pick up KI: Uprising, Pokemon X and Y/OR and AS, Mario 3D Land, Luigis's Mansion Dark Moon, Smash Brothers and even some Sonic games! (haven't played a new once since Sonic Generations and Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed; at least the 3DS version of Boom looks to be solid considering Sanzaru is behind it :D).

I love my Vita, but having a 3DS to accompany it would be nice :).

"Journalists" are already portbegging.

Really? Ugh X(, I would think they would be happy with the Vita getting more exclusives that USE the things unique features (I remember Collen from IGN was upset with Tearaway coming to PS4) but NOPE, just beg for the game to come to the more successful platform that had LOTS of games of its own :l.......

Either way, the game looks promising with it using the Vita's features well and I love the presentation of it so far (its twisted look and netting the Silent Hill composer really helps as well :D), so I hope this game does well :). Won't get it day one due to my large backlog, but will gladly give it a shot latter on :).

I hope you are right...
While we are at it... Localization team port Fallout 3 and/or Xcom and keep localizing Vita games! XD

It's made by Italians and it's a Vita exclusive so i REALLY hope it's good, but even if it's really good for some reason i don't expect good reviews. :\

My bets for there next two projects are these:
-Western Ports/'Remasters': Bioshock or X-Com: Enemy Unknown
-Localizations: Digimon Vita and/or God Eater 2: Brust

The former games have iOS versions as a base already (with X-Com being the easier to port due to how scalable it is), not to mention both fill missing game-types on Vita (Bioshock fits FPS Action while X-Com fills the missing RTS-esc game-type).

The latter games are likely more expensive for there localizations despite Bamco being a large company. So, Sony will help them out with getting the Digimon game over here (the large request from us will play a factor too) while this team-up will also have Sony bring over GE2:Burst. The latter game has a PS4 version too, so that will give Sony an even greater incentive to bring that on over to have more JP games on PS4 in the west.

I've had a 3DS longer than I had my vita, and while there are some fantastic games on 3DS I find it really hard to play after getting used to vita. The UI of the 3DS is so damn slow and not having the Vita's suspend/resume on a handheld is killing me. I really hope the new 3DS fixes at least some of these things. Though what it won't fix is the form factor, I really struggle to play my 3DS comfortably.

Though as you said, the Pokemon games, Mario 3D Land, and some others (notably Fire Emblem: Awakening, Bravely Default and Mario Kart 7 for me) are fantastic games worth playing. I wasn't a huge fan of KI: Uprising but if it works with the "c stick" thing on the new 3DS that will help a lot. Honestly, though, I have enjoyed my Wii U so much more than my 3DS, even with common consensus being that 3DS has more good games. Maybe I am just a masochist, with the fact that my two favorite systems are Vita and Wii U.

Again, to bring it back to Vita, I am really interested in Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus coming out whenever the hell it comes out. I do have a 3DS, would I be best served to play the 3DS Senran Kagura game first? I know that this game is more about gameplay than plot, but if the 3DS one is reasonably enjoyable and I'd get more out of Shinovi Versus that way I would probably grab it.

So I decided against the Dangan Ronpa LE Vita, because I don't want to give up on my OG Vita yet. The thought of a Vita without OLED still baffles me.

With KI though, the C-Stick will only just use the Controller Pro set up, meaning, you will be able to move with the C-Stick and aim with the touch screen. Not the ideal set up at all (honestly wondering when they are going to port-over Uprising to Wii U, that way the game can just use the Wiimote+/Nunchuck controls....), but it is something at least :).

As for the Senran Kagura 3DS game, I think it should be a fun time. I mean, the core gameplay is a hack-n-slasher, right? So, it should be fun killing waves and waves of foes :). Just keep in mind that the game might have frame rate issues on the 3DS (heard from somewhere that the games has slowdown :(), but I can be wrong about this.

3DS Senran Kagura is crap. Just wait for Shinovi Versus.

VN aside, the 3DS game is pretty lame. I've heard the gameplay is far better in Versus, though I dont' have it yet (I'm done with the series if I don't like it though). I'd definitely skip it, personally. Just look up a recap if it's even relevant to Versus' story. First game is just a beat 'em up with no real hook other than lots of (mindless) aerial combos

The Senran Kagura on 3DS is a really crap game. Think a very repetitive side-scrolling brawler, with horrible unplayable frame rate at all times (like 15-20 fps or something). Really not worth the $30 they're asking for.

Shinovi Versus on the other hand is decent, it's a Musou clone and the framerate doesn't suck. I played the Japanese version for only an hour (and then sold it because they announced the localization), but the little of what I played blew the 3DS game out of the water. It's still not a masterpiece or anything, but if you want at least one Senran Kagura game, this is the one to get.

You can't just leave us in suspense like that. Who's begging and why?

“Murasaki Baby” is coming out soon for PlayStation Vita, will you release a PlayStation 4 version in the future?

The emotional side of this game consists in physically touching Baby's hand with your finger. On PS Vita you have a direct, physical contact, your fingertip covers exactly Baby's little hand. As soon as anyone holds Baby's hand a bond is formed. Many have compared this approach to Fumito Ueda's with his game "Ico", but in "Ico" the action was mediated by a second avatar, there was no direct contact, even if the game was heavily emotional. In "Murasaki Baby"'s case it's very hard to trascend the PS Vita touchscreen. With this I'm not saying that it's impossible, but for me it's very important to create an idea first and then choose the best platform to realize it. Not vice versa.

Rumours say that the new idea is already in motion at Ovosonico but at our question Massimo Guarini simply smiled.

Well finally my DR2 LE has arrived! It was just two weeks of waiting, so it wasn't that bad.

Now to tape myself unboxing it so I have evidence in case something's missing! O_O

Looking good, I hope they can release decent gameplay system.

How did you kill your memory card? Stop biting the poor thing. :(

I left my Vita plugged in for a few days without touching it. I think it decided to teach me a lesson for neglecting it and kamikazed my 64gb. Nothing I did could get it work.. Lost so much save data Got a replacement but it will be sometime before I can bring myself to start fresh on certain games. Must use ps plus more...
