I wonder what other fuck ups Big Jim will do this week... Only a few hours to go!

Preview for tonight's episode.

Under The Dome 2x11 Promo [HD] "Black Ice"

"A few weeks ago a dome appeared around Chester's Mill..."

A few weeks. All this shit...

That said, I still like the show, even when it's dumb as rocks.

Can't stop to see where all this will go.

Oh I found Rebecca saying that the hospital is out of commission and that they have to use the school funny. They probably didn't have any hospital sets anymore and didn't want to spend extra money. So it's always the school, Sweetbriar and Angie's apartment these days. Along with house interiors of Julie's and Jim's that don't really look all that different.

I'd be holed up at one of those mansions across the lake.

I actually found this week's episode fairly entertaining considering, but I did have to laugh at the random emphasis on the Prius Plug-in Hybrid car.

I know creating a fire indoors would generally be a bad idea but it's not as if they are lacking wood they could burn if really desperate for heat. Besides that, what happened to that large amount of propane? It's only been a few weeks, did it get blown up last season and I'm forgetting? If not, surely they still have it and could've made use of some of it.

They also had Rebecca say "Take Julia's Prius" instead of "Take Julia's car" lol...

The almost death of Julia (again) was so laughable. I like how Julia had to point out that she will bleed to death, this series has the most Captain Obvious dialogues I've ever seen.
And how she almost died of hypothermia, but Lyle being in the frozen lake was fine just by being brought to the car.
And how it was not possible to tie her leg well and to bring her into the town when she got injured but it was easily done when she was frozen and the wound closed so quickly.

Hey guys it's really cold, we have a few heaters, and we're running low on gas.

Where should we set up?

How about a drafty hallway where the front door can keep being open and closed?

Hey guys we live in Maine, funny how no one has winter clothes amirite?

All those people they had in the school during last weeks episode, was that supposed to be everyone in the whole town? Because it looked like not alot of people. What happened to all the kids and teenagers from season 1?

The book was fantastic, outside of its disappointing ending. The show has gone on so many wild tangents that the writers just made up out of thin air, it seems.

I still enjoy it, but it's not very good. I'm interested in seeing where they take the characters and setting from my favourite novel. This isn't what I'd hoped for as a television translation, though.

This season seems to lack cohesion in areas. It's just one disaster after another, which I'm getting sick of. Write something more interesting.

"You should take that. He was your husband."
"That was my old life."

That was two weeks ago.
Hahah I thought the same thing. Also, in this two week span, Junior has already moved on after Angie? And how many time is Barbie gonna get beat up and magically get out of it?

I think it was more like 4 weeks but still lol. The line had me laughing.

And when was it that the dome actually spoke to her? Can't remember any scene where it seemed like the Dome actually did.

At think we're at three weeks now guys, plenty of time to grieve and move on never mind Angie's been dead for like a week at this point. The past is in the past, they know they have to let it go.

Oops wrong OT.

I missed last weeks episode. I feel completely lost and with out direction.

So you're like this show now?

I forgot that the people responsible for taking over Smallville after its creators left are running this show so the stupidity makes sense to me now.

Are they just pulling things out of their asses now, in order to keep the show going? It's becoming a bit of a joke, and bastardizes a great book's name.

I just watched last night's episode and it was ridiculous.

They've been making shit up for some time now. It's just that it's now reached a point where it's no longer funny, it's just sad and depressing.

The show was never really good to begin with. Season 2 has just been a mess compared to the first. Nearly every new plot point that is introduced is quickly forgotten. You'd think all of the citizens suffer from amnesia.

That was the worst season finale ever. Well at least Lyle is dead.

I wanted to ask if they were keeping it close to the book but after reading those last posts I guess not (I know they have to make up some things to lenghten the plot, just wanted to know about the core elements of the story).

There's one more episode.

I agree that it's never been good, but things have gone off the deep end to a degree I never would've expected at the beginning of S1.
What happens in the book that is different from the show? You can mark as spoilers if you want, but I'm curious since Season 1 seemed to have more effort put into it.

A lot of things, honestly. They've changed so many different things. My memory is a bit hazy when it comes to fiction because I consume so much of it, but I'll try to list different things.

Many of the characters are new
Other characters died in different ways
It's missing at least one major character
Plot points are different (ie. all of these disasters)
The propane explosion was handled better in the book and was much more of a major event.
Joe and his mom (I believe) were big parts of the book, and he was different in some ways
No leaving the dome. No hole. No Barbie's Dad.
No people coming back to life and no Sam.

From memory, the show seems to have deviated since the 2nd episode and mostly only use some of the characters and bastardised some of the scenarios. It has been a fairly different story right from the start.

EDIT^

To add on,
No
egg nor four hands either. No prophecies. No easy way out of problems like food and whatnot

The book also took place just over a period of 2 weeks or so.

This show is written so perfectly poor it's a fucking art form.

But to complain about it being not like the book is ridiculous.

Once they decided to go for more than 1 season, it was obvious that they couldn't be like the book. But I think people expected the plot to be not stupid lol. It's still entertaining though. My favourite characters are Rebecca the walking plot device and Joe the scene describer.

This

It's gone far out into left field, so much so that it can never be taken serious again. It's too bad, because the book may get a bad name and people won't read it because they'll think they know the story.

Okay so Peterson and Souders aren't the runners, just "consulting producers" but they did write a couple of episodes.

Have they said whether or not there is going to be a Season 3?

I haven't seen how the ratings have been this season.

I think the ratings compared to last season are down a good deal but it's still doing fairly well in its time slot for a summer show so maybe, maybe not.

x1000000 yes. That Julia is no kin of mine..

Hey don't be talkin shit about Julia!

Although it was funny that she was walking around just fine after having a pole through her leg the night before. And then as the episode wore on, her limp became more and more pronounced.

She only bothered during the scene where she confronted the dome lol. She had to since she was the only person in the scene and even then it was a limp for 3 steps and stop kind of thing. In the other scenes she just doesn care. And who wraps their wound up like that? It's almost like they didn't even want to cut the jeans open and just wrap a bandage to let the make up department call it a day.

At one point, she was damn near sprinting, just HOURS after having that thing removed. All of the sudden she turns on the acting skills and gives us the limp to top them all..when the episode is almost over..my gawd.

I might just avoid every actor in this high school play from now on..
