Destiny's "Raids" Thread: "Vault of Glass" is OPEN

Oh boy. Watching the Datto stream and earlier the Bori stream made me realize that my Hunter is
not
ready.

Definitely need to have a legit fireteam of 6 with healthy communication and a good mix of skill sets. I see why Bungie is pushing the "no MM" card. Hopefully they atleast open up the Tower chat to make it easier to recruit new teammates.

Why have I put the burden of Platinuming this game on my shoulders...

Can someone explain the point of raids to me if you only PvP? Do you need to farm a boss in order to use the best sniper rifle or something?

Beat The Templar. Got to the Gatekeeper stuff and my group eventually called it for the day.

Raid experience is pretty good. Shit is brutal.

I'd like to know the full amount of loot they got, from start to finish -- because reading here makes me think completing the Nightfall offers way better loot. People got Exotics, Legendaries, 12 Ascendant Shards from Nightfalls IIRC.

Is this changing peoples' minds yet on Destiny, out of curiousity?

I obviously haven't gotten into it yet, but it doesn't seem as game-changing as Bungie was repeating. Especially if the rubbish loot people are getting so far is gonna be the norm.

The raid will probably be a lot of fun when/if they fix some of the general game framework. I'm super annoyed that the bosses still seem to be as lazy as they are in the main game, though.

Looks like the game crashed just as they beat the boss. No loot.

If the servers don't recognise the completion then i'm never touching long missions in destiny ever, i've had crashes in the past but usually it remembered where I was.

Wow I can't believe Bungie trolled people with a raid like that and that kind of gear. lol what were they thinking?

They most likely expect people to replay it every week until they get that sweet yellow, I doubt many groups will do that.

Is raid matchmaking going to be done in this thread, a new one, the clan one or the OT? I will be ready for this by the weekend.

If completing the Raid doesn't result in BiS gear they screwed up. At the very least they need to make it drop a BiS primary, secondary and heavy and make everyone role for them.

Question. How many raids usually have a MMO?

I mean... should we expect a new one every week, month or more time?

FFXIV does major updates about every three month. So far each of the major update had added a raid and made the previous raid more accessible.

We know destiny's first DLC is in November so hopefully there will be a second raid then.

Don't expect that.. at all. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see another until the DLC drops. At most they have 1 or 2 more in the cut in the game proper.

Got the last word exotic hand cannon and another zombie apocalypse legendary machine gun off the nightfall strike. Was expecting that minimum from the raid.

It almost seems like a completely different game. Guess the strikes were just tutorials.

See, that is the thing. It would be awesome if the strikes were tutorials using the boss fight at the end to teach a simpler form of the mechanics from one raid boss but they aren't. There are raid mechanics that aren't seen anywhere else in game which is a shame since a good portion of the player base will never get to experience was looks like the most fun part of the game.

any screens of the loot that dropped after they finished?

Game crashed on both teams that finished it. First team got a black screen, second team the end mission timer just froze. There were no end-raid result screen rolls, so nobody got any real raid gear. Bungie better own up and send them their raid gear soon cause that is some dumb shit.

From the first few bosses/chests all i got were ascendant shards. Some people got Legendaries, but only about 2-3 legendaries dropped in total.

It's...the loots eh. Hopefully the gear at the final screen is better but...not that exciting loot wise.

They didnt have time to program an end screen. They didnt think anyone finish it so quickly and thought players would just do it for the kudos.
