But does she still keep her personality, like German?

Have not seen the episode yet, so I don't know if they showed how she was turned. In the books, it's really unclear how much sentience she retains. The Master has a very specific purpose for her in his grand plan, and in book 2, she even gets a chapter from her POV. For the sake of clarity and streamlining in the show, she most likely will become a sentient vamp like Eichorst and The Master. That would actually be a really neat twist and I hope they do it.

Damn you've got me pumped.

If they were going to do an episode that focused heavily on the mom, then they should have considered investing more into her character before tonight. I would be surprised if anyone watching the show actually gave a flying fuck about what happened to her.

I definitely didn't. I'm excited for the future emotional torture for Eph but I'd much prefer the kid and the wife completely gone from the show. Especially the kid, he's terrible.

Geez, was this really the best child actor they could find?

Pretty uneventful episode overall, but it was helped along by the actress playing Kelly really committing and having some fun. That was a great velociraptor impression.

Not a terrible episode, but we're still in the same place as last time.

I wonder if the blonde really went on her own.

Considering how this show has characters acting irrational to be genuine to the genre's roots yes would be my guess.

They need us to be screaming at someone and for some reason it seems last night's episode was to prove how worthless she is after they failed to infiltrate Palmer's headquarters.

Last night was just boring. The episode got some story elements done and over with, but the whole Kelly flashback was poorly executed, and I am really getting tired of hacker girl still being a live. Let Fet get some emotional attachment and then kill her to send him into a cold dark place of vampire hunting, already. The character sucks.

Man, this show is really topping Heroes Season 2 levels of stupid.

First they do a straight play of South Park's "no internet", then they have NY still functioning even though nearly every character had a random encounter with vamps (assistant's mother's nursing home, attacking the car in front of Eph's FBI captor's car in rush hour traffic, the alley way the two Latinos passed randomly). Oh if only there was some sort of broad spectrum, unjammed media that used a network of people with cameras to relay news and footage to a central broadcasting location...

They even showed that happening but it wasn't the type of reports you expected to hear at this point.

Get Inside Her!
I don't know if I already saw a serie where I wanted the protagonists (Eph / Nora) to die so badly.

Ya'll are friggin sociopaths.

I was pretty bummed when that worm got in her eye, I was hopin she would make it. But it was somewhat redeemed by her being selected by the Master there, if she turns into a lucid vamp like Eichorst there's a lot of potential there. Maybe she shows up and is like "hi Eph turns out I'm fine ha ha" and tries to undermine things from within. Cool stuff!

I figured that since she got infected, like Eichorst, from the blood, and not from the bite, that she would be different than the mindless drones. and I like that we got to see a little from her POV, so we know what they see, and how they are communicated to.

My only question is how are they all turning so quickly now?
The people in the beginning of the show appeared to take days to make a full transformation. for the last few episodes, it seems like only a few hours are needed now.

My biggest issue with the show is that they seem to be doing a horrible job portraying the actual downfall of civilization, or at least they're making it really confusing.

So you have Elite Hacker Girl "hacking" the Internet and bringing it down, meanwhile you've had vampires running around with impunity at night for how many nights now, killing countless people and turning hundreds more? And how am I supposed to believe that there hasn't been any larger response or mass hysteria? If you're just going to resort to hand waving bullshit at least BS the lack of communications on some crazy solar flare or something associated with the eclipse. I'd have bought that more than obnoxious Hacker Girl single handedly destroying the Internet.

The whole internet being hacked or whatever is just the dumbest writing I've seen in a show in a while and doesn't even make sense. But to compound that, you've got people watching TV news shows and yet why isn't there huge news that hundreds of people have either gone missing or murdered every night? Are we supposed to think that just cause cell phones or the Internet is down that there wouldn't be mass hysteria? And then in the daylight scenes you have people just walking around like nothing is happening.

Yet I still am enjoying the show. Its stupid fun. I just wish the writing wasn't so horrible, because the concepts are fun.

Exactly.

Like that nursing home attack was how long ago in the show? Days? Weeks? Even if we're assuming the internet and every other form of mass communication was down, just word of mouth would cause some hysteria, I'd think.

1) Hacker girl didn't do it alone, she has said multiple times her and a group did something to bring the internet and stuff down in NYC

2) In the TV's in the background multiple times they've had reporters talking about murders and how insane they were and how the police were confused at the murders, etc.

While I agree they aren't showing it falling apart in as large as I'd like, but it is happening you just have to see the little details.

Really solid episode last night. I have nothing but positive impressions. Kelly's protracted transformation was fascinating - it's become clear to me that with a couple of the actors who turn vamp, they were cast primarily for how well they could act the vampire instead of acting the human. And, could it possibly be...the hacker chick is gone? No way she survives out there on her own. Thank god. I was so done with her schtick.

Eh... yeah, I caught the bit where Hacker Girl had friends but it still just seems stupid to me. It just seems like really lazy writing. "Oh, lets have the evil old man hire a super savvy hacker to bring down the entire global communications infractructure!" Come on.

And I've noticed the TV news reports in the background but it still doesn't seem to add up. Just look at how blatant the vampires are at night walking around murdering people and yet NOBODY had gotten a picture or a video of them and given that to the news to show? Nobody noticed that the NYC Pest control office mysteriously disappeared or was murdered? Or that the medical inspector and all those bodies disappeared? Or how that one supposedly famous rocker guy is MIA? Just all of the missing persons cases from all of these vampires would be insane.

The gross sort of guttural gagging sounds Kelly made prior to hacking up the mouth tentacle/proboscis thing were really nasty and great.

I haven't read the books but is the Hacker Girl even in the books? If not, do they explain the lack of communications some other way?

Well the ones in the beginning were all bit gracefully by the Master. Maybe he has more control over the process, and can delay the onset? All the rest of the fast infections have been from sloppy lower-vamp bites.

Or maybe it's just a television conceit to get things rollin.

That was one of the most boring, dull and poorly written episode of a tv show that I have ever seen. Jesus christ, it was absymal.

No she isn't, which is why her continued inclusion in the show has been a complete mystery to me. Hackers are still employed to bring down major social networks and news services, but it's not anywhere near as dumb as "the whole internet's down". In the books Fet is actually able to keep a blog throughout everything that happens.

Yeah, latest episode wasn't exactly the best. Bad dialogue/acting in some of the scenes, and not much actually happened. Feels like the whole series has slowed down after the first number of episodes. Also, where's my SWAT team!? :(

They are stalling the story to fit the first book onto a 13 episodes season, my only comfort is that the season finale will deliver

After reading book 1 and 1/4 of the way through book 2, all I can say is that they fucked up a lot of the characterization and added a lot of needless fluff just to fill out the season. Eph in the TV show is a douche. Eph in the books actually knows what's he doing, doesn't stop in the middle of the apocalypse (that he's supposedly trying to prevent) to get his dick wet, etc.

If you're talking about the incident I think you are, then I daresay that's going to disappoint a lot of people

pretty big book 1 spoilers:
the Master doesn't die due to sunlight

This.

In the book, it makes sense. It was creepy as FUCK.
Vampire Matt just texted her with "Need you at home" and that was the last we saw of Human Kelly. No death scene. No turning. Nothing. Just the dread of what is happening
.

Here, we have no connection to Kelly.

Wait.

That's how Kelly turns?

Man, they keep butchering the tentpole moments of the book for me.

wait that was the weakest?
I really enjoyed that episode. From the wife biting that kid (I went whoohoo), and him killing that kid gave me some Walking Dead flashback.

I really enjoyed that episode

Man, that episode felt like the very definition of filler. That could have all been consolidated into 15 minutes. Not a fan of this episode, even though lots of vampires killing things.

I'm really enjoying this show lately, the last few episodes have been great.

Almost caught up, I'm enjoying the show in spite of the flaws it seems to have sunk its fangs into me. Mia Maestro is also a pretty lady.

Didn't really like the episode that much. Like others have said, we haven't seen a whole lot of the mom and now we get an entire episode dedicated to her. Granted, it could turn into cool stuff if The Master transforms her like Eichorst.

i've been watching this show from the beginning and it has (barely) kept my interest but jesus fuck could the acting be any worse? i suppose it's not helped much about the awful writing of the characters and how they react to things but god damn the kid in this show the past few episodes has been sofia coppola god father 3 status of acting. i cringe at every line.

i'm not sure why i keep watching but for whatever reason i do. hoping dat

Judging by how the first book ends, we might see them as the cliffhanger to episode 12. They might condense Gus meeting Quinlan to the finale, but I highly doubt the season cliffhanger will not be Gus meeting the rest of The Master Vampires, which would take a few episodes of build-up.

The books are fucking shit, the show isn't much better. But I've got nothing else to watch in the mean time.

At least it's better than Under the Dome.
