10 issues in now. Gotham Central is just pitch perfect.

The Batman/police department dynamic displayed from the other side here is just outstanding. The different ways they perceive him and how he impacts their job on a day to day basis feels just right, as does how they tackle the issue of the 'supervillains' in the city. And the way Bats is more a background character here, and the officers are really the stars of the show (but at the same time somehow he's still a very much a mythic, commanding presence in the book), is just fucking grand. Can't believe I've waited this long to read this.

Just finished Doom Patrol.

So that was... something. Volumes 3 and 4 kind of felt weak, just random and nonsensical, while the rest of the comic was surreal and chaotic, but in a way that actually worked. Brotherhood of DaDa was the highlight of the run, and Robotman's probably become one of my favourite comic characters, this loveable, tragic, frankenstein man.

And all of these traits will be absent from this silly Gotham television show, making its existence utterly baffling. Super awesome series, Batman's shadow touching everything even when he only appears occasionally.

I'm hoping that the upcoming Gotham By Midnight book can capture a bit of this, although it'll obviously be less grounded with The Spectre also being a background presence.

If you could recommend one Spider-Man story that I would enjoy what would it be?

I want to read more Spider-Man.

Edit : top of the paaage

Fabulous as fuck.

Batgirl's Bizarre Adventure

Aw really? I loved the Flex/Pentagon arc! I wasn't crazy about the whole space war arc, that was probably my least favorite part of the run, but I still enjoyed it well enough.

Agreed 100% on Cliff. He's an amazing character and it's really hard to hate him.

Hm. Vol.4 of Uncanny X-Men has a list price of $29.99... I know it's an extra 40 pages over their regular piddly 128-page books, but come on Marvel. Do you really need an extra $5?

Yeah, I'd like to see a show based on the premise. But I'd like to see it on like HBO with a real budget.

I'm not expecting Gotham to be like that though, so I'll still give it a shot.

Ok, Kipp... your package is on its way! I threw in a copy of Hellboy's first comic appearance (Next Men #21) because I had a extra one that I found looking for the GHA trade. It should be there next Monday. Enjoy!

You are seriously the man! I'll probably frame that first appearance of Hellboy. That is so cool! Thank you so much!

But really, thank you so much for everything! I'm so excited to receive it!

Edit: Just realized that if I go to Long Beach Comic-Con, I could get Next Men #21 signed... Now I kind of have to go. That would be amazing.
Second edit: Oh goodness. Dave Johnson was just added to the LBCC guest list.

ReAxion, can we please carpool? I really want to go but I really don't want to drive.

you think Kipp is one of those primadonna JHW/David Aja 5 issues a year motherfuckers? He's gonna bring back that Jack Kirby work ethic

You know it. I will quit my job and draw Rafa's comic full time.
Not like I'm getting any hours lately anyways
But I'm planning to draw quite a bit tomorrow and the next couple days, so hopefully you guys see something within the next few days or so!

I also have a little something else I started that I'll hopefully finish sometime this week (or more likely, next week). I'm really excited about that too. But Rafa's comic takes priority. I can't be slowing down his rocket to superstardom.

I loved all of it. I read it years ago, but it was life altering. It's so deep, there are so many psychological and magickal thematic currents running under the surface. The Rebis on the Moon issue is one of the most remarkable works of narrative art I've ever come across in any medium.

Do I have to spend a certain amount of money before I can get the 2 percent discount on the next order on IST?

Oh shit, I had forgotten about the new multiversity issue being today, just got the subscription notice from Comixology and aim stuck at work for another ten hours. Fuck me.

During our sessions of Destiny PVP KoruptData and I discussed, amongst other things, how some of our other Destiny ComicGAFers would align in regards to PVP. Example, Korupt didn't think Cheska would be into it, whereas I guessed she's probably hardcore. These are the important conversations we have when we interact.

Damn, didn't you you were a girl...

Also anime.

They finally have progressed enough to allow anime women to post?

Must be that hard light construct mentioned in another thread.

Last match I had my K/D was 3.7. I step on everyone. Shooters are my lifeblood and I'm extremely good at them. Halo, COD, Battlefield...live for multiplayer.

I actually haven't gotten past the moon. I jumped right into multi and got to level 20 there.

Has anyone actually read "Infinite Crisis: Battle for the Multiverse"? I'm curious about it, since DCs digital firsts have actually been surprisingly good and especially their game tie in Injustice title.

In the all important and understandable DBZ terms, Korupt and I are probably Piccolo fused with Nail vs. Your Stage 2/3 Frieza. We would be able to hang with you until you revealed your next form. Typically 1.5-2 KD/R during our good games.

I run at about a 1.5-2 on my worst. As long as you guys go for points I'll be happy. I'll try to be around more this weekend so we can play :)

A majority of the people who I play against are god awful. Their reaction time is crap.

What ones did you get? Biker Daryl came in the mail yesterday.

Last two Arrested Development ones I needed George Michael and George Sr

Oh and Future's End Batwoman wasn't terrible.
Even if the regular issues ignore the vampire stuff I am glad we got this issue. I was a bit sad when Kate got staked :(. Didn't the solicit say she was fighting her former lover Nocturna? That wasn't true at all

Yeah I checked. The solicit for Batwoman is a lie. Shame. I bought it due to the solicit and how the last issue ended.

I hope someone else picked up Grant's new Annihilator issue 1 floppy? I want a hint at what to expect from it. The artwork looks phenom. I may break the drought and pick up some physical floppies this weekend. It's been weeks...

A bunch of people did--it's great. Issue one has a fuckton of great content, and Irving's art is dominant, so check it out.

You know what. I'm gonna pick this up. I had it in my hand today and decided against it. But when I buy my digital comics later I'll pick it up.

SPIDER-GWEN DAAAAAAY
Most I've ever been hyped for an American Comics oneshot. I slightly forgive Robbi for leaving FBP. Oh well, onto Sixis.

Two 4.99 annuals in December, both two parts of a story for Eva Bell. Ten bucks for a character Bendis hasn't even attempted to make remotely interesting. Fuck off Marvel. Fuck off Andre Sorrentibo.

I picked up the Futures End Pandora issue to see how it all got wrapped up, and hey Fawkes finally got to explain her role in Flashpoint and creating the N52!

I was actually trying to level up more before getting into it. Do you gain more exp through PVP? The only games I've ever gotten seriously addicted to multiplayer wise have been Uncharted 2/3. I just generally prefer TPS, but Destiny has been a blast!

Yeah you get everything in pvp

Yeah you could theoretically level up entirely on pvp (once you hit the level you can join). You gain xp, loot, and Rep (+marks @ 18+). A mix of pve and pvp to do the daily bounties would give even more.

ComicGAF Clan shall be a dream given form. We'd even think about letting Messi join. Once he is done with his current Fetch waifu.
