Still don't know that I want to upgrade my 680 for $550. Not sure that the 970 would be enough of an upgrade, either.
They said they've received official pricing details that are confirmed, rather than speculation.so just speculation and picking a random rumor out of all the contradicting ones for prices then
There's an adolescent joke in here.Yeah feels like hard launch to me
Wait for reviews.Should I go with 2 770s for $500, or a single 980 for $550?
Can't decide yet if time to upgrade from 670 OC
On one hand vram, decent 1440p framerates, Witcher 3. On the other 28nm, probably close to £400.

2 970s if they really are 300$

single 970/980 then start saving for a Gsync monitor.
How do consoles look on a Gsync monitor? Just like normal?

Of course, pre-NDA info being what it is, still not totally concrete. But it is looking more solid than previous stuff.
Go drink some coffee, cranky pants.

They don't. You need an Nvidia card and a display port to be able to use G-Sync.
Ah, DisplayPort only.
GM200 is releasing alongside these at $600. There's also a double rainbow outside of my window, and I heard that Palestine and Israel have ended their conflict with a single-state solution. That's good if it's official pricing, this better be true.
I will stop being cranky after they announce the official msrp to be the 299/324/349 from the rumor.

It would be pretty awesome if it did work though.![]()

Yep. Time to sub.I'll be monitoring this thread religiously over the next couple of days. Need that 970, hopefully we don't see any price gouging.
My left knee gets stiff when Nvidia does a paper launch.
Well, I thought they might also have HDMI ports for other components. Currently, I live with a flatmate, so I have my consoles and PC hooked to a TV I use as a monitor. I'll have to have an all-in-one solution until I get my own place in the future, so a GSync monitor isn't really on my radar currently.

I'm not unhappy with my 2GB 670(MSI Power Edition OC), but if I can get a 970 for £250-270, I'm doing it without question. With Ryse, GTAV, Project Cars and The Witcher 3 coming up, I'd be quite happy to have something a bit nicer. Can't decide yet if time to upgrade from 670 OC

They're using AMD hardware now, as of a few days ago.More surprised that Matrox is still alive.
AMD has been sitting atop on price/performance since the 280/290 release.
Nvidia is looking to take that crown with the 970, but the 750 ti/970/980 releases have been marginal performance improvements with, huge efficiency gains.
No.so, now AMD sales is better
Well, in total numbers both AMD and NV shipped less, so it's hard to see it as "improving". And in terms of marketshare, they increased quarter over quarter but actually slightly decreased year over year. It doesn't seem like there's much movement in either direction.I think he means better than last quarter, as in improving, not overall, or even vs Nvidia.
Any reason to suspect these will come with free games? Don't think I saw anything on those boxes.

Where are people getting that it's releasing tomorrow or friday?
Are these prices confirmed or is this just from the wccf rumor?
from people's reactions it sounds like stuff got confirmed suddenly?
No.

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/de...down-in-q2nvidia-holds-market-share-lead.htmlTotal AIB shipments decreased this quarter to 11.5 million units from last quarter.
AMD's quarter-to-quarter total desktop AIB unit shipments decreased 10.7%.
Nvidia's quarter-to-quarter unit shipments decreased 21%.
Nvidia continues to hold a dominant market share position at 62%.
Figures for the other suppliers were flat to declining.
No.

x2 770s
Honestly, if prices are true but we will see tomorrow/Friday.
My mate works for a local disty and the price estimate he gave me matches the rumors so far, i.e. ~$330 and ~$550 for 970 and 980 respectively.
The distributors already have the stock right now and retailers should have it by Friday / Monday latest. Expect limited stock for 970 as manufacturers are aiming for higher profit/revenue from the 980.
I wouldn't really call a combined 0.1% market share "still going"Matrox and S3 are still going? I remember Matrox making the first 256 bit card. I also had a card in the 90's when the 3d card field was still wide open. Much better than the Cirrus Logic I had, but still a piece of shit. Matrox never die though.
Yes, but this doesn't make AMDs sales better.so Nvidia lost more

It's too bad really, the GPU market was much more exciting when there were 4 players.
$250 for your trash. One man's trash is another man's treasure after all.Somebody buy my Titan Blacks
No.

In other words, anyone who wants a 970 : buy one immediately as they release, as retailers will use the limited stock to jack up the prices (despite msrp) of their stock in the weeks after release.
Well, my Matrox G400 was greatI got the Matrox in 95 when 3d cards were starting to take off. At the time I was dumb as shit and picked up the Matrox when the ATI card was endorsed by SIGGRAPH. I only picked up the Matrox because it was cheaper and the main purchases my father was making for me was a bigger harddrive and more ram. Matrox was still a piece of shit. Killed the Cirrus Logic I had in the Packard Bell before, but still a piece of shit.
