[Videocardz.com] VKD3D-Proton 3.0 brings AMD FSR4 to Proton, with an experimental support for older GPUs

Absolutely needed

I said before that Valve has to basically automate optiscaler to transform FSR2/FSR3/XeSS/DLSS2+ into FSR4 automatically. Should be a seamless experience by default, if you want something else and tinker then it's still doable but the base experience should not ask users to go on GitHub to use upscalers nor modify .dll files, it has to be user friendly.

Probably a really stupid question, but would this also mean Gamehub and Winlator would support FSR4 or at least open the possibility for someone to get it working?

I'm looking at this and wondering if it'll be possible to finally use FSR4 with Vulkan native games. This thing is translating DX12 to Vulkan and works with FSR4.
Optiscaler FSR4 compatibility list notes that it doesn't work with Vulkan yet. Games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle or Doom The Dark Ages have FSR 3.1 but AFAIK the driver toggle for FSR4 is not available due to the lack of Vulkan support.

VKD3D, the translation layer from DX12 to Vulkan, works with FSR4 because FSR4 gets enabled on DX12 underneath.

AMD hasn't officially released FSR4 support for Vulkan, so Indiana Jones and DOOM TDA are still limited to FSR 3.1.4.

That I get. My point is that with this is apparently possible to get FSR4 to work with the Vulkan renderer.
Almost every game using FSR 3.1 can be overrided through the AMD driver setting to use FSR4, not those using Vulkan.
Optiscaler can get inputs from DLSS, XeSS or previous FSR versions and inject FSR4. I would like to know what is the technical reason preventing FSR4 from working with Indiana Jones and DOOM TDA if not the renderer or the inputs.
