Finish story mode so you have access to everything once you hit 20. Some bounties require you to re-do a mission on a higher difficulty. I don't know if you can do those if you never completed it before.

Had to complete the story, and then redo the final mission on heroic. Oddly enough, the bounty glitched when I was halfway through the mission on heroic.

I got a nice dead orbit cloak for my hunter but I can't wear it since I still need to get my vanguard rep to 2. Does the dead orbit rep require as many points as vanguard to level up? I am tempted to give up on vanguard and claim dead orbit at this point.

Speaking of the doorway strategy, if you double jump up to the top of the door that leads into the previous room, you can shoot the boss from there and the Shriker won't spawn, because you're not on the ground.

For Dead Orbit: 1000 points for Rank 1, 2000 for Rank 2.

It just requires some coordination.

We did it last night as 3 level 25s (it's possible one of us was a 26).

The hardest part was actually unlocking the stupid door at the beginning. At one point 4 wizards come out at once and they will push you back all the way through that hallway into the previous room with respawned mobs. If you can work around that, you'll be fine.

There is nothing that says you can't stop at stage 2 of 3 and go back and clear out that room again so you can fall back a little further for safety. They won't travel down the hall, but they will come into it.

Phogoth himself is just a matter of time. Deal with the adds first, like always, and only focus on him once they are down. The adds will drastically start to slow down after a certain point.
