Damn, I've been putting the story missions on the back burner because those missions are boring as fuck but I finally got to Mars and did the 1st mission on Hard (as I've done with all of the story missions up to this point). Holy shit, big mistake. Even with it being a mere 2 levels above my rank (20) the Cabal are so fucking annoying to fight. Especially towards the end of the mission when you're trying to get some key and a small army of those assholes with shields drop. Even the cabal grunts where soaking up my head shots from my HC. I almost don't even want to finish Mars now because of how tedious it was fighting them.

I've tried just waiting them out but they just hang around the area farming and then follow me when I move on. I'm staring to wonder if doing this to lower level players is a type of griefing.

I keep ending the mission in hopes of being able to complete it solo. Thus far having other players in my game world has not been a positive experience.

I only level him up for the free engrams and stuff he gives you.

i'm pretty sure suros is the highest pve dps exotic currently, but hard light isn't terribly far behind, and hard light is the shingen damage model so it's insane in pvp

That is annoying, but you still get all the rewards (XP, loot drops, grimoire rank progress etc.) from their kills. And then when you eventually get to the "Respawn Restricted" part of the mission it'll separate them from your game world.

What kind of unique mechanics are in the raids?

All sorts of stuff. Platforming, different enemy types that mark you for death, special relics that are required to get the boss' shields down. That's only up to the first boss, I don't think we're too far in.

But, it's not fun. I'm not playing the game for the loot grind, I'm playing to try and have fun with the combat. Having high level dudes swoop in and clear the place out is just frustrating.

You get XP from THEIR kills? Are you sure?

In any case, if some random stranger wants to kill everything around me, saves me ammo, and I can pick up any loot that pops up, without worry about them trying to pick it up.

is like this in most MMOs. it's nice to have people around to help with stronger bosses and public events, but you also get those moments where they kill everything or grab items before you, whether it's intentional or not. the enemies can only respawn so fast.

The skywatch cave now harbors players who sit inside the cave while people are farming so that nothing can respawn. It's not difficult to see why proximity chat was omitted, but i'm starting to wish Bungie then went the extra mile and let players opt out of sharing the world with other players. I guess then that'd kinda defeat the whole point though.

To be frank, I think the whole crossroads public space dynamic they went for was a waste. It's cool the first few times and when the occasional public event happens, but without any meaningful way to interact with the players we meet there, it just ends up feeling empty. Until they swoop in and kill the enemies you were killing of course.

WOW today has been an insanely lucky day on destiny for me

1: got the Shadow price assault rifle from a BLUE engram
2: finally got me a legendary chest armor from a purple engram(from lving crypt)
3: got the Cryptic dragon scout rifle from the same batch of purples for lving crypt
4: got 3 strange coins in a row and was able to afford the exotic helm from xur
5: finally got my first exotic bounty!

in one day i got more things in this game than i have this whole past week playing this game. i don't really farm so i didnt have many legendaries but im very close to rank 2 on both vanguard and crucible so i know i can buy some armor soon.

yes, but you can get time of completion rewards for multiples a day. it's just rare

Alright; if I run 5 level 24 Vanguard Strikes tomorrow, I should be able to afford a new piece of armor. Only problem is, they're diametrically opposed; that is, the Intellect/Discipline/Strength stats I want are on one piece, and the ammo bonuses are on another. What do, GAF?

Go through the area to the right of the spawn, the one where you get your first ship.

Go through the building with the steps.

If you're porting in from selecting to do patrol missions, look to your right and the building there is where you need to go. The path leads through the first main 'no respawn' area you should have played in the very beginning and it will take you out to the Divide.


Yeah I think you're correct and I was wrong. I know I've read 9AM for the end time but doing some searching seems to show 2AM as well which is the server reset time.

Hell of a day Destiny. Started the day with all rares. Ended up with 4 legendary items (2 gauntlets, machine gun, and pulse rifle). 2 from purples engrams (cave of wonder farming and 2 cryptarch gifts) and 2 blues upgraded miraculously. Then to end the night a purple turned yellow and I got an exotic rocket launcher (The Truth). Today was a good day.

Need one more strange coin for 13 and my Warlock bonds. Always tomorrow.

I usually damage them on the arm they're shooting with when they are shielding themselves.

Well, the once a day thing is from the mail for doing a public event. The rewards you get right after doing the event are somewhat random (like everything else) I think.

You only get a reward for your first gold tier of the day. That's it. Then you're just collecting the marks and rep.
