bungie, can you not allow full rewards for people who join right at the end of a raid/strike, while it's not that much of a problem seeing someone on twitch solo the nightfall strike then invite donators for the killing blow and they walk away with purples and yellows makes me feel a little sick.

I set my ps4 to a static dmz IP, set my DNS to google's (8.8.8.8, 8.8.8.4), and wired my connection.

Before that I was being d/c every 5-10 minutes. Now I can go hours without one, but it still happens.

Followed the thinking here. Not sure if it's correct, or if what I did changed anything at all (could have been stuff they changed their end), but it did improve.

Might be worth looking in to.

What's the lowest level someone can sensibly get away with completing Nightfall?

Level 25, if you have a couple of level 27+ there to help you out.

I completed it last night with one level 25 and two level 27.

The multiplayer is so good. Especially one you find a playing style that you really like.

This is the first game where I'm enjoying competitive MP. My K/D ratio is abysmal, so I don't think I'll be able to do a lot of the bounties, but it's still fun as shit. The only way I can get kills is with the shotty and melee.

It's sothing to do between grinding strikes and patrol for materials.

Looks like you can only upgrade exotics four times, and each time it gives +2 light, not +3 like I thought. At least this is what my exotic helm does for Titan. So given the fact that all legendaries start at +18 and exotics at +21 (I could be wrong), if you have one exotic and 3 legies, all fully upgraded, you can just barely cross lvl 29 and that's it.

RNG is a big part of these games, the problem is how bungie has approached it IMO it could be a lot better while still being down to chance.

Yes that's what I mean This all happened last night, at the "opposite the speaker" spot. I went there 3 times withing 4 hours and the middle time he wasn't there...just didn't exist.

Didn't know if it was a glitch or they'd added an RNG to what hours he was physically present.

Maybe they took him offline when they changed the "glimmer for strange coins" thing?

Nice. I'm tempted. Level 26 atm, but have some pretty powerful weapons (Exotic Hand Cannon nearly maxed out, Legendary Scout Rifle and Rocket Launcher etc).

Exotics give +2 light for the first 3 defence upgrades and then +3 for the last one, for +30 light. A legendary piece will max out at +27 light iirc

Everyone in destiny has a checkpoint reset on tuesday morning, as for everyone having that checkpoint I am not too sure but either way it will reset tuesday.

You don't even need to worry about RNG really.

Earn faction rep and marks and buy legendary gear from faction venders.

Buy exotics from Xur at the weekend.

If you're relying on rng you're playing it wrong. Random drops are there to supplement, not to rely on.

I mean, rng is still a factor of course, but it isn't as bad as some make out.

How does the points system work?

I can't see me getting above 1 K/D with a shotty or Fusion rifle.

You get 5 points for a void kill and lose 2 every time you die. Try to camp out a heavy weapon spawn and then go on a spree with a void machine gun. Play as conservatively as possible. Once you get the hang of it you'll be getting 20+ points per game. My best was around 70. Should be easier as a Wizard since Nova Bomb and grenades count towards it too.

I did it in Rumble. And you get more points for a kill than you lose to death. I believe you lose 2 points when you die and get 4-ish per kill? As long as you stay mostly even you should be okay.

Edit: Also I got 40+ points a game as long as I did okay. I had a couple shitty rounds, but it was generally fine. I'm not a big fan of fusion rifles, but it did the job.

If luck is against you, just do it the Vaguard Mark ranking method. There are plenty of guides about. In a few hours you can have Legendary gear available for you to simply buy. You can also try farming the cave at Earth, that one works pretty well for me.

It resets on Tuesdays like every other weekly thing. There's even a countdown in the app like other timed stuff.

Edit: Well, I suppose Xur is an exception on the Tuesday thing, but yeah, raids are Tuesdays.

Yeah, there are multiple maps that involve battles between enemy groups that can break out into all-out battles like that. It tends to happen in place of a public event's time slot.

There are several areas that have events like that where 2 sides begin spawning a ton of stuff. There is normally a message that comes as it is about to happen, but can be missed since you don't normally look for messages.

Yes, this happens on all the planets at certain places. I think after about 30 minutes of killing both factions (hive/fallen on earth, fallen/vex on venus, etc) they start attacking each other and spawn elites after elites. Great way to farm xp, glimmer and engrams.

I know that feel... It's fair enough that you don't need RNG to progress in game, but when you put more effort, time and skill in than others and they still get more and better gear it's just demoralising.

I started a new character, what would be the fastest way to level up? I don't care much about items around lvls 3-19 at least, so I just want to know the fastest way to get myself to lvl20. I guess having some high level friend playing with me through the whole campaign would make things faster?

Get around this annoying lack if features by adding people you meet in pvp and strikes etc... You'll soon have enough to make regular parties.
