Uh, take a hint from me, go level up by doing bounties and repeating earlier strikes. You'll have to eventually. If you just mainline the main story events, you'll actually be underlevelled. And trust me, you'll want to hit Vanguard Level 2 before the endgame.

I regret not doing more of the side stuff before. Also, collect all the materials you can. Best to distribute that out now rather than try to do it all in one go as I am.
