How much would a used GTX 680 go for?
I like how everybody is using Corsair water CPU cooling.

Well, that's obviously a good reason not to got that route. Sorry to hear that. Not me.
I had bought one... And it didn't fit into my case.
Well, why the hell wouldn't we be? So quiet. So cool. So overclockable. So easy. Only $100 or so.

So how does the GTX 970 (im assuming this is the cheapest one - hard to tell with fucked up number series Nvidia uses) to say a GTX 770 card? Better, worse, similar, not worth the update, 10% gain? Whats the deal here? Is it better to get one of these instead of a GTX 770?

The 970 will be at least 25-33% faster while consuming much less power. Plus it has 4GB RAM (only some 770's do), and all those new features.
Edit: Edited to account for cards with no OC on them.

No. You need to neurotically upgrade every time a new component is released, otherwise you're not a true PC gamer.
Any word on Maxwell mobile product availability?
So um any of you guys with the new cards tried running watch dogs on it lol. Wonder how it performs
It's still shit.
I worry for farcry 4 and unity...
970s seem to be about the same price as the 770 4GBs, so no point in going with a 770. It's still not exactly a cheap card, but if price is an issue I'd probably wait to see what the 960s are like.So how does the GTX 970 (im assuming this is the cheapest one - hard to tell with fucked up number series Nvidia uses) to say a GTX 770 card? Dunno, but I have a 4GB one for sale. I was actually thinking I'd have to give it away because I didn't think they were worth much.
On the plus side, I can run FC3 maxed out with 8xMSAA at 1080p (1440p no go) now. Which is still kinda crappy if you think about it. Ubisoft magic.
I'll tell you right now that it won't, without testing. Can anyone who has the new cards test if DSR works with Metal Gear Rising? It's locked to 1080p in the menus, but I've got a 1440p monitor.

It works in the exact same fashion, from the application side, that any downsampling does. As such, it depends on the resolution being supported.
I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it does. Just like GeDoSaToSo DSR works with 21:9 monitors as long as the game support the resolution too?

570 to a 970. Let's do this!!

I'm pretty happy with my NH-D15. Not exactly nice looking, but silent and cool.

Noctua <3
Just grabbed a new case to go along with the 970. My current case dates back a few years so it seems like a good time to go with something nicer. Went with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro, which I've heard nothing but glowing things about.
Got a NH-D14 in my rig, love it.

Will we see game bundles?

Any idea how much better it is compared to my old gtx670 2gb?
I am thinking 40-50% improvement?
Why is everyone acting like the 7xx series is absolute garbage now? As if there is anything out right now that would put that through it's paces, let alone the 980/970 now.
I get that it's better...but what PC games are there that actually tax these things? Playing LoL at 2560x1440? Why wouldn't most people jump on the super cheap 770/780 train right now and take advantage of the price drop.
Star Citizen is the only PC game I know coming out that will require a pretty hefty computer to play well, and that's still at least 2 years off at this point.

Multiplats with taxing PC enhancements will put those cards to work.

Near 980 performance.
