Shadow of Mordor deserves more attention. Come in and be hyped with me.

I was going to wait to jump into the console market till much later... might end up buying one sooner than later because of this game. Decisions decisions....

I preordered this sucker over the last few days. I had planned to hold off till later, but there aint much else coming out for the rest of this month, so I figured, why not?

Me too. They have the lead writer from Red Dead so the story should be at the very least decent, but I hope they introduce some variety in the mission design at some point so it's not just "hunt these 5 warchiefs" in each zone.
It sounds like the game has quite a bit of story missions, they just aren't showing them. The nemesis system is just one aspect of the game. They haven't been showing any of the story missions because they want to focus on the feature that is new and excting, and they don't want to spoil the story. The nemesis system isn't just about the warchief hunt, as it is in the background effecting every fight you get in whether that is during a warchief hunt or a story mission.

That documentary was really good, I don't understand why they never released those videos. It seems like they were missing the final video too, so I wonder if they just decided not to finish it, or if we will eventually see them somewhere. I'd love to see them show up as a bonus feature in the game.

I can see myself going mad and dominating everyone on the list very early in the game.

I would be left saying now what will I do?

Put it on my GameFly rental queue for PS4. Will see how it works out, but the beautiful thing is there is nothing to lose with a rental. If I like it will Keep It Now. Win. Win.

Just watched that and I agree, it would be great to see the rest of it especially how E3 went. I hadn't paid much attention to the game until people started raving about it after playing it at E3.

I've seen it here and there on IGN/Gamespot and I just saw it pop up on the Xbone Games section - the pre-order special bundle or something.

The one I loved the most was way back in..2005? On PC it was a top-down/RTS type Lord of the Rings and it was awesome.

Vanwinkle, you seem on top of things, do you know which "other developer" is doing the last gen versions?

Man I remember hearing who it was on one video awhile back, but I can't remember now. I don't think it was a developer I had heard of.

Pretty sure I heard in one of the streams that it's "behavior interactive", used to be called A2M (advanced mind & movement, not what you're probably thinking it means ;) ) They made mostly ports but did that game "WET" and "naughty bear".... their website doesn't seem to mention SoM though...

Has anyone here actually play the game at any show??? Destiny isn't keeping me occupied like I thought so I'm looking at this game possibly being my next purchase. But I don't know much about it besides the gameplay videos I saw of it.

That live stream has sealed the deal for me. This game is definitely a GOTY-contender and a sleeper hit! Holy *shit*! The combat is incredible and the way the enemies talk to you.. omg, I've been wanting that for years now!! The mere fact that they are showing so much in-game footage tells how confident this studio is that they have a gem.

Just a quick tidbit- the Season Pass for the PC/Steam ver. can be gotten for around $9 from Traders.

I got the game for $25 on Steam, but will wait to see if the extra DLC is worth the season pass.

Yeah, thought that was kinda weird and hope we see them on the retail disc.

Purchased for PC! Looking forward to playing this on the 30th. Holding back on the season pass till I experience some of the content though. I'm hyped! :D

There's a shot in the Machinima documentary that shows two of the three areas, Udun / The Black Gates and Gorgoroth / Barad Dur. You can see it at 15:22.

Guess that confirms the ash plateau around Mount Doom as the third area besides Udûn and the Sea of Núrnen, as we speculated upthread.

Damn some of you are really confusing a Gafer. All footage linked above IS console, dont get it twisted. The Machinima gameplay and Twitch Dev Diary footage is all running on a console. The only recorded PC footage is from Nvidia's Game24 event which does not seem to have a 1080p video anywhere. There is however a 720p :

According to today's stream, there's gonna be a Steam Sale next weekend.

That, in all likelihood, is referring to the current WB sale. Valve's never held a sale in September and I doubt the Autumn Sale is going to start the moment (more or less) the season does.

Edit: I should probably note that I haven't watched the stream, so if the phrasing rules out the possibility that the person mixed up the start date of the WB sale with something else, then just ignore me. ;)

I'm not sure if they meant the WB Sale or a Mordor-specific sale.

What was today's stream? I've been soaking up all media I can with this game.

They showed a large amount of the start of the game, such as tutorials and... ahem... a few NPCs and flashbacks I would have liked not to have seen but oh well.

They had three people present. Two Monolithians and one newbie, who was the best commentator yet.

Watched a 'let's play' from Gamespot for awhile with a friend, he isn't into LOTR or fantasy even but he was sold.

Game looks so much fun, just 2 more weeks!
