What will I do when I can get a ton of stuff without RNG?
 
There's a little area right near the start of Mars patrol, where one can run a bit one direction and kill 6-7 Vex, then back another direction and kill 5-6 Cabal, and repeat. I got a bunch of blues and a purple engram there within about 30 minutes this afternoon. I don't know if that rate is equal to the Cosmodrome cave.

I haven't seen any ugly legendary gear personally. Also, I believe we get a lot luckier with shaders at endgame. Dunno why that is, but early levels are fabulous with all their colors while I look like a warlock wearing a duster.

Also, I think in the current state of the game, there's a cap on how powerful gear is. I'm not seeing gear that has more than 300 damage for example. Because of that, I look at their perks and see how they help me. There's so much variety, I end up with multiple options for gear I carry around instead of one set.

Not the case.

Characters are shared on PSN, so if you play the PS3 version and level up a character you can then use that same character on the PS4 version later.

But there is no cross platform play.
 
Hit Level 20 today. Found a couple rare engram drops, but nothing great came out of them, until...

So I jsut read that the Queen stuff coming out this week is just bounties. I was also told theres only 1 raid coming out with two new ones for the expansions only. Surely this can't be true and Bungie has more content bc I've done everything but the raid in 10 days. That's a disgrace.

Admiral, I was where you were at. I had played the game for hours and hours and was up to level 23 and had jack squat for gear. Got killed on mission and strikes and in MP because my guy had shit armor and weapons. I was getting to the point I was ready to put it down. The cave got me motivated. I now have a couple things to help. Did I just sit there for 4 hours going R2? No. I hit it this morning about 10am when I first jumped on. After an hour I saw the reward and got my buddy over. We did it for another 30 mintues. Then, I played the game like you would. Later in the day we went back for an hour and got mroe stuff. Did the daily and some MP. After we hit it for another hour or so then called it a day.

I am not a big grinder but Destiny is a tough game if RNG is not your friend. I am so high a level that I HAVE to have good gear just to participate. This allowed me to get back in the game. I got crytarch up to almost a level 10, but an exotic today, got some purples, filled up a lot of Gilmore cards and HAD FUN. It was FUN!

I know they will patch it and I;m not activly looking for more exploits but goddamn I was so depressed having SHIT and all my friends getting sweet stuff I started to not like playing. This 4 hour event turned the whole damn game around for me.

I will make this up to you, friend.

Here's the shit part though. I bought the Sunbreakers from Xur and then dismantled my Level 20 Rare gauntlets so the only way I can equip my new swagged out coat is by buying a pair of shitty uncommon gauntlets to replace my Sunbreakers. My light level then drops from 25 to 23 and my total defense goes from 1027 to 877. I can't even wear the thing until the marks reset and I can buy some legendary gauntlets.

This also means I have to use 65 marks right away instead of saving up 120 to buy a helmet.
 
Gambled with my Motes of Light, got this chest, too bad it has strength instead of Int/Dis, also I think Sunsinger is so much better for raids. Hm, keep or salvage? Could probably use Voidwalker for random strikes and what not.

God, no. I'm level 27, but there's still dudes here who are higher than me, gear wise. I am still rocking rare weapons until tomorrow. I mean, hell, the weekly 26 is soloable due to bad pathing AI, so nothing to brag about.

Raid is hard, have to find peeps. That's why I'm capping my Defender variant Titan, though, I guess.

But yes, will be chuckling at people at the Treasure Cave. I hope they get something, but it's like wandering through AC seeing all the people at the slots.

Keep sunsinger, dont know a lot about the class but their ability to charge for 2seconds and instantly disintegrate you is a good bullshit abilty.

I'm a few coins away from getting anything from Xur, so probably have to wait until next weekend. About to max out Vanguard marks for the week. Need to get my rep up.
 
This afternoon, while mucking about in old Russia patrol I found a couple of players farming the cave. At first I didn't know what was going on.

Not sure how I feel. 20 minutes gave me more 'rewards' than the rest of the day's play. Gave me some time to reflect and came to realize how poorly paced the rest of the game is (and how terrible the patrol content is) :/

...

On a more positive note;

I took the bounty requiring completing a strike without a death. First strike matchmaking connected me to was a match in progress on venus/nexus, with the nexus at ~ 10% health :P ended the match with 5 kills and 3 revives, plus the bounty :P

Dude is it really gambling though? What else can you use Motes of Light outside of Xur's goods except for those Marks and other aesthetic stuff the Speaker guy offers?

The Speaker is the only other person who takes Motes of Light and the stuff he offers isn't worth it IMO. Sure, you don't know what you're getting with Xur's exotic engram, but AT LEAST it might be something truly awesome.

Unless there is another way to use Motes of Light I don't know of.
 
If it wasn't for GAF I would not have been able to complete the LVL 26 Moon Strike, it's 4:40am here and all my friends are sleeping, but two gaffers came to the rescue LOL. Now I just have to drop a Strange Coin on PvP to buy my Exotic.

Ohh and on an unrelated note, I overheard Xur say “your traveler hides a dark secret” (or similar). So basically it's the halo ring? :p
 
Managed to finish the Invective Bounty before the Thorn one.
Definitely need to get to lvl26 or above before trying the lvl26 Moon Strike again.
Invective has Full Auto right off the bat and seems to have less recoil than the other Full Auto Shotguns, so its pretty good.

What do you even get for dismantling exotics? I honestly don't think I could ever bring myself to do it. Just dump it in the vault for a rainy day I say.

Better start grinding though bounties like a job, friend. It actually doesn't take that long. I got about 2500 points in 6-7 days. Seems a lot more daunting than it actually is.

Need about half a level to reach rank 2. Should I wait until I'm rank 3 to use the other vendor? About 5 marks away from weekly cap, I think.

I serioulsly doubt you're level 30 and have done high level strikes, weekly, nightfall weekly, got to level 3 ib all factions and got the armor you wanted and the weapons you wanted, besides playing the crucible.

This game grabbed me by the balls and refuses to le go, my buddies and I are trying to get to level 28 before we go to the Vault of Glass, so we're doing a bit of everything everyday in hopes of getting new gear to level up, this is so good with friends :)

You may as well hit Rank 3 Vanguard since it's a guaranteed free legendary weapon. I feel like my rare level 20 AR wasn't even scratching enemies in level 24+ strikes while my friends with their legendary primaries were cutting through guys like they weren't there.

Nice, didn't know you get a legendary. Guess I'll grind it out.

My legendary AR shreds but the recoil is crazy. It grew on me after the initial learning curve, but it's definitely not something to bring to PvP.
 
Ok, thats it, any map that has vehicles, instantly quiting. Had enough. They don't give you the tools to take the vehicles down properly. They're 100% garbage maps. Done, never playing one again.

The tank is easier to take down just because its so goddamned inaccurate for the most part esp on uneven terrain.

Those damned bikes on the other hand, sure they got low HP but goddamn does a barrage from the main guns hurt.
