Correction: That's the worst way to go about it when you aren't already capped on marks, haven't done the Nightfall and haven't completed the raid.

Once you've hit the timelocks, the only options afforded to you are engrams, faction/vanguard/crucible rank ups past 2(which aren't exactly fast) and the Crucible RNG.

Until then, however, yeah, work on marks and stuff instead.
 
So happy to see a legendary helmet. Shit was for hunters. :( Well at least I got some marks and the run was death-free and over in less than 20 minutes.

The load times make this even more frustrating.

There doesn't seem to be a place to view it in the app either. I've taken to keeping a notepad next to my console.

Time-cost benefits swing toward Treasure Cave/Temple. I get better stuff from drop RNG than Crucible/Strike Playlist reward RNG.

Same here, though I am growing to really enjoy strikes now that everyone appears to be geared up. So I farm, then I strike, repeat.

Load into the Dark Beyond. Get to the Temple of Crota mob encounter. "We've woken the Hive!" Kill all the trash mobs, let the yellow guys kill you. Checkpoint will take you back to the beginning of the encounter. Repeat as needed.

Go to The Dark Beyond moon mission, get to the part where the temple opens, kill stuff and die, keep killing stuff that pours out the door and dying.

Oh, also do it on the level 9 version since that'll give the heroic modifier and add some yellows to the pack.

My first legendary engram that actually ended up being useful and for my class.... My 30th i believe.

It was a cryptarch rep freebe, he is forgiven.
Doctor nope auto rifle.

I think destiny is flat out addictive and has some glaring flaws that i believe will be addresses and/or fixed in some manner. Thats all i need to or am going to say about it.

Now, back on topic, what primary weapon is everyone using or DYING to get? I think i either want the Monte Carlo AR or an exotic hand cannon.

Full disclaimer, I enjoy the persona so I can make it though his videos with ease, but I'm not in anyway a fan of AJ. Maybe it's just me, but I HATE the way DLC is handled, and AJ is about the only one that I see addressing that and holding someone's feet to the fire when it feels like a lot of decisions were made to push the player into DLC instead of making such a great product that players want more. It's a fine line, but I think this time it was crossed.

Really? Somehow i don't buy that. I went that route for a bit and couldn't get past level 21. I stopped the farming racket and played the game properly and got to level 25 in a day.

You can check your rank and progress to the next rank via the app. Go to the Tower Map and select a vendor. Can check Cryptarch too.
 
The darn crucible mark limit is so annoying. I always hit it by the weekend :(. Don't want to play if im not earning currency. Dumb decision Bungie.

Save up enough strange coins and mote of lights to buy exotics from Agent of the nines, buy legendary armor and increase your cryptarch level by farming engrams. I was just like you until I focused on these. I got sunbreakers from a blue engram.

Do heroics add to the chances of purple orbs? I thought they didn't.

Agreed. And I am currently using Exotic AR Hard Light. It seems good once you upgrade the stability a bit.

I feel quite protective of this game. Weird, I know, but I find it hugely frustrating reading some of the reviews that dismiss the game for what it isn't.

You can check your character during the loading screens. I do lots of my inventory management then. I know it's not quite what you're talking about but it does speed it up a bit. :-)

Heroic makes mobs more aggressive and increases their numbers, increasing the level also adds extra yellows to the pack which is useful. But no, it has no apparent effect on loot drops. Besides y'know, more stuff to kill.
 
Destiny has flaws, most people agree. But it has a solid base, including extremely satisfying shooting mechanics. This is the first game I can remember where I can't wait for the DLC to come out.

It's RNG. You can buy it or not. It doesn't matter because I know I get purples from cave/temple farming.

I think the only solid base is that the shooting feels good. There are some major flaws to the game that some can look pass, while other cant.

Agreed. Same as I said above. If you don't like this game because you're farming and "you aren't getting good stuff," you're playing the game wrong (and you're probably playing the wrong game too). If you farm and are enjoying it, great. But if you are farming and complaining, sorry, thats your fault.

Yeah, I just don't understand the thinking here.

Could you imagine defeating a raid boss in WoW and a purple tier token drops for your class, you rush back to the gear vendor and exchange it... for a blue tier item? It makes absolutely ZERO sense.

Why bother colouring them at all? Just have a generic white engram that allows for a chance of rare or legendary gear.

The issue is the people who 'care' about playing 'properly'. I get good gear from RNG, you can also get good gear by playing in Crucible/Vanguard playlists. What does it matter?

Is there a consensus on what the most worthwhile exotics are from bounties? I have a choice between the hand cannon, machine gun, or fusion rifle. I already have Invective.

The only legendaries I've had are from cave farming. I'm at Light Level 25 and I'm trashing most rares and ALL greens. I've capped glimmer twice. Crucible doesn't always give me the stuff I need for the time I spend in it. I've tried the alternatives and I get the chance at better rewards through farming.

I think the exotic auto rifles have similar stats as far as the ROF/impact/stability as the shingen. I was wondering the same thing, though I'll probably go with the New Monarchy auto rifle for now once the reset hits since I've been rocking a blue one for the past 7 character levels...
 
Is the daily heroic on 28 harder than a 26 strike?

Also, need to run the daily heroic on at least 26. PSN nicoga3000 if you're interested.

Yea, legendary engrams should get you legendary gear period not some chance at getting it.
