holy moly, got a bunch of cool stuff in one go.

1 legendary weapon
1 exotic weapon called Ice breaker
1 legendary armour.

Now the weapon, it says Please replace these components of use causes fatal damage: heat sink. Magazine. operator.

How to I replace those?

Just flavor text. Don't worry about it.

I think the exotic auto rifles have similar stats as far as the ROF/impact/stability as the shingen. I was wondering the same thing, though I'll probably go with the New Monarchy auto rifle for now once the reset hits since I've been rocking a blue one for the past 7 character levels...

I think I'm going to stick to my blue Galahad-E for PVE for the foreseeable future, until I luck out with an exotic I guess. Purple weapons just aren't that great, and only offer a 20% damage improvement when maxxed out.

well the "operator" is you, so think on that one a while.

That seems massive.

Does anyone want to raid at 4 pm est? I'm at the final boss. I have played the final fight the last three days in a row. I'm a pro at both shield and defense team. The rest of my team always has a few people who drag everyone down. I haven't been lucky with destinylfg. Is there anyone here who knows the fight and wants to play with me?

So I'm confused. Can someone help me out?

What do after lv 20?

What are these factions and what's their purpose? (FWC, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy) and should my friends and I choose the same faction?

How do I obtain the important currencies for crucible weapons, exotic weapons, high level vendors, etc.?

I'm under the impression that they did the stupid loot chance thing because the selection of weapons for the higher classes is not as extensive as they had originally envisioned.

The New Monarchy one has a mod that increases damage from each bullet in the bottom half of the clip, and a stability mod that nearly maxes it. Not sure the damage increase % is on that mod, but I'd say it's a pretty good option. Only downside is the clip size. Although I've really been liking either the hand cannon or scout rifle for PVE.

here you are

Don't worry about choosing a faction at all unless you're playing PvP or planning to. Nothing to worry about with regard to choosing the same one as your friends- it just gives you access to different gear.

The purpose of Factions is to level them up and buy legendary gear. Browse the gear of each faction and decide which one suits your playstyle the best. Then equip their class item on your guardian and you will start earning reputaion toward that faction just by playing the game. When you reach level 2/3 with that faction you can then use your marks to buy their gear.

Leveling factions, earning marks and buying their legendaries with those marks is the most reliable way to get legendary gear in the game.

Is it wrong for me to immediately quit a control match everytime my whole damn team heads for one control zone instead of splitting off and heading to B?

Regardless of what their vision was, players have to bear the brunt of the current half-baked loot system. It's kind of unfortunate. The 'purple item can turn into a blue' is a real head-scratcher. Imagine if they had that in a Borderlands game. People would scream bloody murder.

i just started using a fully upgraded version of that over my green shingen in pvp and have been absolutely destroying. maybe its the better range and/or impact?

well, till i disconnect anyway

Not that I know of. It's either one of two things: one, the game was rushed out the door, no time for a map, or two, some silly explanation about wanting players to explore their environments organically.

Just rushed and omitted.

The game needs a bunch of QoL improvements.

- jump straight to tower from planet
- start at tower
- maps for each area
- check faction rep from your character screen
Etc...

Maybe even an way to unlock fast travel once you've 100% explored an area.

Not one. He starts the thing with a factually incorrect statement about the budget, too.

What was wrong about it? The General Manager for Activision UK & Ireland already confirmed that figure was true, but includes development, manufacturing, marketing etc

... yes.

You really shouldn't care though. It's an "objective" mode but kills still matter the most. Just run around and kill people.

Another exotic bounty after I was wondering how the hell to get them for a week. The Thorn one which I've done is showing up again for some reason. Options are that, the Invective or Bad Juju.

Think I'll go for Bad Juju. I don't really use shotguns in PvE and for PvP the spread tightness reduction mod is way too good to give up.

This is incomplete information because Faction gear requires Crucible Marks to purchase, which are earned primarily in PvP. What you said is true if someone is regularly earning Crucible marks through their play habits. Vanguard gear purchased through Vanguard marks is otherwise the most reliable way.

Finally ended up hitting light level 28 and just got another exotic hand cannon that is super fun to use.

hE22t3q.jpg

Full Auto Hand Cannon with a bunch of mods increasing hip fire accuracy and it ends up a beast. Now I just run into the issue of having so many damn exotics I need to level and I can only use 1 at a time :l

Have both the Hawkmoon and The Last Word Handcannon exotics, almost done with the Invective Shotgun Exotic bounty, also have Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher Exotic and the Lucky Raspberry Exotic Chest Piece. Wish I could get Ascendant Shards and Energy faster now.

I'm under the impression that they did the stupid loot chance thing because the selection of weapons for the higher classes is not as extensive as they had originally envisioned.

Well almost all the systems in the game are designed around slowing down players, as the game is extremely content light. They want this game to last long time somehow with how little they give you, and even with all the slowing down they force upon players, many are already decked out. Outside of PVP I'm not sure how they are going to keep players coming back after a few months unless they really deliver on free content updates.

While what you're saying is not wrong, I figured it'd be obvious it's crucible marks when he's browsing the gear.

Would Faction rep be useful for me even though I barely play PVP?

Like Hawkian just mentioned; If you don't play PvP you need to stick with the Vanguard Faction so you can use your Vanguard marks. The others require curcible marks.

It's the money for their ongoing plan, not the dev budget for the first game like he implies.

Yeah, I just don't understand the thinking here.

Could you imagine defeating a raid boss in WoW and a purple tier token drops for your class, you rush back to the gear vendor and exchange it... for a blue tier item? It makes absolutely ZERO sense.

Why bother colouring them at all? Just have a generic white engram that allows for a chance of rare or legendary gear.

yeah, i gave up on RNG and figured out the rep/mark vendor path when I was about 0-10 on purple engrams. bought my chest and boots from FWC and my exotic gauntlets from Xur. Got a legendary handcannon from FWC for hitting level 3 with the faction.

I'll admit i've messed around with the cave (mostly do missions around it [free exp!]) but my shit streak with purples went to 22 before I finally got a usable helmet.

yup, insanity on bungie's %s.

We seem to lose every time I'm on a team that does this though.

Does it even matter if you win or lose? I don't think they even track wins and losses, so just run around and kill people. It's just some difference in marks really, and you'll waste so much time backing out and backing in it's not worth it.

You're playing Crucible for marks and gear ultimately. You still have a chance to get them even if you lose. It's not really a big deal. There's no TrueSkill Halo 3 ranking here. Whether you win or lose, it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of a diet-MMO loot game.

Anyone else having issues with Destiny not recognizing PS+?

This morning Destiny started telling me that I need PS+, and not letting me do crucible or strikes. I have it with my other account on the system, so it should be working fine. But restarting the game and system and keeping my PS+ account holder logged in isn't fixing it? Same thing happened with my bf's account (on the same system) last night, after everything had been working flawlessly since launch.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Not viable, or OP?

Personally I think that bubble shield is ridiculous in Control, its a guaranteed capture/defense of a point for like a solid 2 minutes. I've seen people put the shield up and dance on a capture point because they knew there was nothing anyone could do about it.

So I've just finished the 'story' and got myself to level 20. I managed to get my first blue engram while doing the level 22 daily mission just now, but I didn't get anything at all for completing the actual mission. That blue engram ended up giving me a green class item. Is this really what Bungie getting at when they said the game started at 20?

It seems like a waste of time trying go further to be honest. It's feels like the game turned into Payday 2 or something.

Good, point. Eh, I wish there was more to motivate better performance.

Try restoring licenses if you haven't

Less rep and one less mark I guess.

The endgame with light levels and getting raid/Nightfall strike-ready is mostly grind and RNG. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, it might be time to bail.

Maybe, but personally I find that the higher ROF of the Shingen serves me better in PVP. Also, my green Shingen has higher range when I aim haha. :P Between the Galahad-E and the Shingen-C is probably tomato/tomahto really.
