The endgame with light levels and getting raid/Nightfall strike-ready is mostly grind and RNG. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, it might be time to bail.
It is plenty of grind in the traditional sense but NOT mostly RNG. This is a terrible and unfounded misconception. It's possible to rely on RNG to progress in this game but by and large an objectively bad idea leading to heartache and frustration.

How/where did you get it? I have decent armor but my weapons are still lacking. Im level 25 but feel like my weapons are still 18-20

Got it through a legendary engram after leveling the cryptarch. I feel like your chances for rolling a legendary go up with time or something. In the beginning legendary were worthless, but now they seem to pan out more often. I had 3 purple engrams yesterday and got 2 legendaries and 1 exotic. Maybe just a short stretch of good luck for a change lol!

Getting good rewards in Crucible is entirely RNG. Ask me how many times I've seen 'that guy' with 0.44 K/D get a legendary engram.

I enjoy the game but this review is just fucking spot on.

spot on review... I'm also enjoying the game... but think about this for a second.. 500 million and this is the result? If no mans sky lives up to expectations, then destiny basically released into being just obsolete just in the terms of no mans sky concept.
why can't we land and take off in destiny... getting ship blueprints would have been bad ass to find.. but it's purely a cosmetic item for a fucking loading screen.. wtf. ghost shell... why would i care to change the color of such an irrelevant tool.

Yes but your goal in playing crucible should be rep and marks to buy your legendaries. Not the end match rng. I gave up on farming after a day of trying effortlessly and started grinding rep. Now i almost have a complete set :)

Why rely on RNG?

You can play Crucible and get the rep/marks up fairly quickly and just buy better gear.

I'm not speaking to the buying of gear. I was only addressing the half-baked loot system. The system of buying endgame gear in Destiny is similar to a lot of MMOs, though Destiny is more stingy with the gear-trade currency IMO.

i'd try to explain it but i'd probably just give up and avatar quote you

what is your Cryptarch level?

I've had more rare engrams give me legendaries than legendary engrams. I dismantled the previous purples because it was all stuff I never use and I wanted ascendant energy...and now the first legendary I get from a legendary engram is actually for hunters instead. Why would they do that?

Yep. I'm fully decked out in legendary and exotic armour and weapons which I either bought, got gifted by my faction or got in the Nightfall strike. No farming was required for me to unlock the Suited for War achievement.

All I need to do is finally complete the Raid and reach level 30 and I can move on from the game. Right in time for FIFA.

After grinding out those 25 strike missions for the exotic bounty, i feel like i don't want to play another strike mission again in the current playlist. I hope with the expansion content they add a good number of strike missions, it's sad to say I'm already craving for new content already. :(

So my best bet is playing Crucible/Strikes for currency rather than trying to find engrams? I don't seem to have much luck farming anyway.. I've got my Cryptarch up to level 2 because I never get engrams just weapons!

I am afraid to upgrade my gear. Each has perks that decrease my grenade timer, nova, or melee, so they're complimentary, and two have reload decreases on auto rifle - so I reload so fast the animation looks silly. But I must reach level 23.

Anyone from last night's raid group (TK, SaneMan, fig, Manatee, black) want to run the final boss again today?

Also for everyone else, add me on psn. name in title

I finally reached Mars, the planet I anticipated the most by far.

...no footprints in the sand. Skybox is nice though. The "story" completely lost me, I have no fucking clue what is even going on anymore. My Ghost sounds more and more bored as the story progresses. The Venus missions were terrible, and the Awoken stuff is just... I don't even.

I will say Lootcaving is strangely satisfying, even though the rewards have been minimal at best.

I'm confused gaf. Just got my first legendary engram and it became a legendary for my class so I can actually use it?!? What's going on?

Btw. I haven't seen any level 20 bluea, do they exist or is 18 the highest for blue?

Im a LV 27 almost 28 hunter looking for a serious clan/group/whatever aiming to work on completing a raid without anyone dying. All though i have no experience raiding in destiny yet, i do have extensive experience raiding in general. Raided top tier in WoW a lot.

There are 100% footprints in the sand.

Getting the experience needed to upgrade an exotic takes sooooo long. I have all the materials I need to fully upgrade though so at least that's done.

You've missed my point by a country mile. :-[

Think of the loot rolls at the end of a crucible match as a bonus. Not the primary rewards you get from Crucible (which do, by the way, change depending on if you win or lose).

Not only is it your best bet, it is how you are intended to play the game.

Caveat though, while Crucible (and a bad deal in material conversion) is the only way to obtain Crucible Marks...

Vanguard Marks can be earned, in addition to the Strike playlist, from public events and the Daily Heroic Story. Maybe the Weekly Heroic Strike as well? Can't remember. Oh and the same bad deal mat conversion.

I've heard a lot worse out of the Angry Video Game Nerd or the Destiny review thread. I think you need to let it go or report it.
Lol?
I was pointing out the hypocrisy. Like the others did after me.
Even after Doctor Nope is fully upgraded?
Keep in mind that not every legendary is the same with their unlocks. The one I had was fine for PvE but again, the stability and impact wasn't there to be used in Crucible effectively. Certainly not over my Shadow Price.

Played 31 crucible matches- got about 6 blues and 1 strange coin :/

I dont have the time to invest into this game and im impatient for a lengendary now lol its super cheap and im ashamed lol but is it possible to just go afk in crucible rumble? And just have the stick pushed down the whole game?

I think im just bitter at all my friend's legendaries and them playing much less hahaha

The hard mode for raid has "Unknown rewards" listed just like the nightfall. O_O

I need to get level 30 soon and try it... Nightfall and it's "unknown" rewards are amazing.

You should be able to rely on loot in order to level up.
I assume you mean random loot from engrams (of course you need loot to level up).

while this may be how you feel it is not how the game is designed. if that makes it less enjoyable for you, it makes it less enjoyable for you. it doesn't make it bad. furthermore, loot from the nightfall strike will be viable to progress and loot from the raid is required to reach 30.

Speaking as someone who really enjoys Rumble, I just want to say I have no problem with this at all. It's just easy kills from my hand cannon. Go for it.

Don't do it in a team mode.
