Why am i so bad at pvp? I'm either last or second to last every time i feel bad for the rest of my team, but i don't know, i always get killed when i run into someone unless other members of my team are around. And at least 60% of the time i just get headshotted or shotgunned from behind without even knowing there was a threat.

I'm far from great, but situational awareness is key. Watch your radar. Stay close to your treams "home" point, most of the carnage will be at the center point. Hang back and let the people come to you. Make sure you have the right weapon ready for the map/range you are engaging. Toss nades at doorways and control points when you feel someone coming. Soften them up a bit. Know when to ADS or hip fire. Never stand still.

It is very very helpful to be on a fire team with another guy with a mic so you can back each other up and call out threats.

Theyre fully aware the loot system is bad, its there to keep you playing, not to make you have fun.

It's been 2 weeks dude, of course they haven't come out and said "hey guys we're going to redesign everything". Shit doesn't happen overnight, and designing the right system isn't as easy as all the armchair game designers around think it is.

Well that's if they own up and admit that the design is flawed and downright not enjoyable or fun for the player. When you see a purple drop, it should be exciting, like "oh shit I can't wait to see what awesome thing I get." It's now devolved into, "great, I have to go to the cryptarch and see what piece of shit I'm going to get." For me, the more purples I see drop, the less excited I get because I know it's most likely going to be shit.

If Blizzard owned up and redesigned the loot system of Diablo after all the feedback, I'm hoping Bungie mans up and does something about it.

See this part boggles my mind. Game developers don't live in a vacuum. They obviously see what their peers produce and the flak they get with bad systems and the praise they get for good systems. After shit Blizzard got for the original loot and how much praise the game got after loot 2.0 from people who previously hated the game, you would think anyone trying to develop a arpg or loot game or whatever you want to call Destiny that they would take pointers. Systems like engrams giving you lower quality than the colour they are are antiquated game designs that should have gone the way of the dinosaurs. The reason being is that players also experience the changes other devs make to similar games and will always compare games together and can (and has) garnered hate for the designs they chose to go with.

This. If you want to hit 27 as quick as possible, focus on light first then other stats. I am wearing 2 pieces of vanguard, 1 exotic, and 1 crucible piece for that reason (27). Once I get more vanguard marks I'll focus on getting the right stats.

Do not try to gear through RNG, people. Marks are an easy and 100% certain way to gear up to 27.

Here's the thing - I was one of the first people in the OTs to actually encourage people to even go down the rep/marks road. My faction is at level 3 and I've started bringing up Crucible and Vanguard rep in the meantime. Got 26 Strange Coins in the bank as well.

I'm not going to spend 13 strange coins on a chest item after I just spent my marks of the week on a legendary item. That's just a waste when you realize how completely random everything is. Who's to say that the same item won't be there next week? After I get another legendary chest piece (after just buying one from the vendor)? I say whatever and do some strikes and end up watching people who I revive 10+ times get legendaries and don't even get me started on PvP... I'm all for working for what you need to get but you're actively playing against a loaded deck in Destiny at all times. Nobody really wins. There are people at level 28-29 who are objectively terrible at PvE and PvE. They get to play the raid and I don't because they're better at sitting in front of a cave than I am? Word? okay bungie.

Best drop I got in days was when a skirmish team quit in the opening seconds and netted me a shader. That's what I get happy about now lol. That's where the bar is set.

I'll just start a new character in the meantime but this is just all fucked up.

So I was pretty bummed that I couldn't get enough strange coins for the Sunbreakers and the vendor left today (only had like 9 or 10 coins), so decided I'll just complete the Vanguard bounties before work to work on my Vanguard rep.

I've come to terms with myself to no longer grind the cave on the moon. It's not fun and it only leaves me with sadness and disappointment. I've realized that the intentions of the legendary equipment is that you grind Vanguard and Cruicible currency until you can afford it and even purples you find by random are considered a plus and nothing more.

One of my bounties was the 200 resource items thing on Mars. Some lowly legionary dropped a purple engram (my first purple drop from an enemy btw) and I didn't even get excited (The Cryptarch has given me two purples for ranking him up and one had a rocket launcher while the other had bullshit). After a few bounties I decide to go back and have the engrams looked at. First blue engram (bullshit green stuff). So now I'm really not getting my hopes up for the purple one. I'm thinking "just give me the blue crap so I can sell it and I guess it's not all lost).

Yeah, I started getting a lot of stuff once I stopped caring about the grind and just played the game. Made the game infinitely more fun when I just accepted that the drops aren't supposed to be the way you get legendary/exotic gear, and anytime I do is a bonus

Im not to bothered about the mass blues you get from purple engrams. My biggest problem is that earth cave is much more efficient for getting purple engrams than running tiger strikes for example.

Well Strikes are a whole different story. They seriously need an overhaul. The time to reward ratio is a complete joke, and I don't know how this wasn't apparent during the development process. High level Strikes should yield much better rewards as far as reward screen drops or even when you defeat the boss. Right now you get nothing for killing the boss other than some glimmer, and usually nothing in the mission result lottery. This needs to be changed as there's no incentive there, especially when you are spending upwards of 30 minutes on these. Also the amount of rep you get is ridiculous considering you can rack them up by doing patrol missions, which by the way probably will give you better drop chances as well. Marks as well, you can run a public event loop and get more marks per hour as well as material drop chances.

There are so many strange and baffling design choices with this game.

Anyone interested? The idea would be to build a solid team of good players and meet together at like 8PM PST and go for 2-3 hours. For consistency this would be the same nights every week (i.e. Tues/Wed every week at 8pm).

This way we don't have to deal with doing the content with different people every week, we can get to know each other and know everyone's strengths. It also makes learning boss encounters faster not having to explain it to new people every time.

My main requirement is that you be consistent. I've done my share of leading raids in WoW and the biggest problem is people who commit but don't show. Other than consistency I ask that you be 26 so we aren't underleveled for the content.

Probably just run strike playlists as the reward at the end is pretty nice.

You need better gear; level up isn't XP dependent. Grind bounties, public events, patrol missions, and Vanguard strikes/Crucible until you can buy faction gear.

be forewarned that the 25 Kill death spread is not well laid out.

If you fall behind by 3 [go 0 kills - 3 deaths] then catch up and get ahead by in a match say [5 kills -3 deaths] in a single match, you will still lose 3.
