Level 27, soon to be 28 Sunsinger Warlock looking for any raids tonight. Would like to do it before the reset. I have plenty of time and tons of history with raid culture. PS4, PSN same as GAF name

I want to do the raid as well. I am a level 26 voidwalker warlock.

Add sjay1994.

Really want to do this thing

"We want every piece of gear to have an epic story behind it about how the player found it."

Not sure if grinding bounties and shooting at a level 5 cave is all that epic but those are my stories so far.

Well because loot is completley random this kind of design doesn't work.

You can kill a level 8 Thrall that drops a legendary that turns into an exotic

Or you can beat the raid and get a shader.

Finally got my first legendary at LVL 23.

Farming for random loot drops *hoping* for something good is for bitches. That's not what this game is about.

Yours,

Frank

I'll take my ratio over the luck from crucible any day of the week. Did someone mention the buying their gear the legit way? Here's a fucking cookie. I want the gear and the rank dammit. Besides, random patrol missions get boring after a while.

You don't have to grind to get good loot. Just play the game like you normally would. I'm almost at Vanguard Rank 2 this way and I've gotten plenty of stuff.

I originally thought I started at lvl 1 hahahaha hitting lvl 1 and realizing I was not lvl 2 was a pretty depressing moment. I also had just ranked up FWC and didnt realize they dont take Vanguard marks >.< i dun liek croo-see-bowl

As far as loot goes, it'd be pretty cool if there were named Legendary/Exotic gear that were guaranteed/probable drops for specefic high end content such as Raids, so like someone quoted, there would be a story of sorts behind how you acquired it. There just aren't that many pieces of specific hard end game content yet.

Plus, that whole philosophy doesn't really work unless you have more visibly unique gear/sets for specific content. People aren't going to comment on your gear if it looks like every other piece of gear, unless it's an exotic, which aren't tied to anything in particular.

If we got a group going here throw me into the mix. PSN: TheVeilrae

Have you beaten the raid? I would like to go in with people who know what they are doing.

I was playing it last night with some old friends from high school, we couldn't get past the first part.

Anyone playing this thing on xb1? Lol. Can't find anyone trying to raid or do nightfall.

Level 28 hunter, both subclasses maxed.

Send me a message and add me. If I'm on, I'm nightfall/raid ready.

totally agreed

i like the sound of this personally
unique eh

are strikers useless for Raids? my heart weeps

If I had to guess, it seems like Defender is the way to go. That bubble was a life saver in the weekly strike. Not only is it fantastic for cooling down when things get heated, (when the wizards start ramping up in the weekly, for example) but you can also whip it out over a downed player and get a guaranteed revive and a safe spot for them when they get up.

Okay, all my rare engrams are turning into uncommons now.

Cryptarch is fucking with me. Pretty sure he hasn't slept in a week either, just mentioned that he needs more coffee. No wonder he doesn't know what colour anything is.

Spend all day on Destiny to get new gear ==> go to work ==> spend all time at work on Bungie's website contemplating said new gear.

Also thinking about which mode to play when I get home.

I don't know what's wrong with me and this game.

It was certainly true as of Cata. The fact remains that currency is capped in both games and Destiny actually allows you to buy more gear, faster than WoW does with that currency. Rep has never been capped but it's also a much longer grind than currency.

I have also never heard of any group clearing a Raid in nothing but greens and blues but I stopped playing during Cata.

But in wow you dont need to buy the gear to be able to kill the raid bosses, whatever is given to you from 5 mans is more than enough to start. Then yes you get your gear from raids, then that gear is for the next raid. Also you think world first do it in radid gear? not even server first do it in full raid gear (just whatever they pick up on their way to the end of the first raid) for the first raid of an expansion. The day I got to level 80, as we were rushing to get there, only what we had on we jumped into obsidian sanctum to beat the other guilds so we could kill sartharion and get our server first title. Nothing but blues and greens and cleared it just fine. Any other starting raid we went in with blues (and as few greens as possible) and whatever dropped got equipted. You dont rep grind as you level to get gear if you're going for server firsts. you get the gear you need from inside the raid but the bosses are killable with the blues you needed to get in.

So are Sunsingers getting the nerf bat soon ?

idk. I can say from my experience with the raid... I'd honestly put them over the Titan/Defender for the top spot in PvE as far as subclasses go. Can't believe I'd come to that conclusion but man, the nade spam and the self-resurrection is so so good.

But that subclass doesn't appear to be all that great in PvP, so we'll see.

Sunsinger in PvP isn't nearly as bad as titan shield for Control. But agreed, Nade spam is fucking amazing against bosses.

"How'd you get that sweet helmet!?"
"Oh I replayed the same 4 strikes a hundred times and then I bought it from the store."

How epic.

Yeah, it's repetitive to gain the currency. Like, REALLY repetitive. Either store prices are insanely high or the mission rewards are insanely low.

I bought a helmet and then hit the weekly cap so haven't done any more since. Been doing Patrols and such but the repetition is still setting in. Can't get over the level 26 hurdle, despite getting my first Exotic a few days ago.

god damn, that sucks. im currently leveling defender just for shits and giggles but not because i like it. oh well

Thanks for the answers all :)

So if I go lootcaving I wouldn't need to enter the cave at all (except for ammo refills), and engrams I didn't pick up would go to the postmaster?

What's even the point of putting story missions on harder difficulties if you don't even get anything for it?

It's still less boring than engram farming IMO.

You stil get the kills but at least, you know... you can fucking move.

Got a Legendary Engram yesterday, just casually replaying a story mission on Venus with a friend.

I haven't played Sunsinger myself, but I actually think it's just a really well designed subclass. It's strong, seems fun to play, and it's not annoying to play against.
