Man I just completed my special bounty quest chain and the game rewards me by telling me I need to talk to Xur to get my quest reward? Yeah thanks, he's gone for a week. Fuck you Bungie.

I haven't played on Burning Shrine yet. Don't really like that one map on Mars...uh...the one with point B that's hard to capture. Also not a huge fan of that second earth map.

Rusted Lands and First Light are okay.

Blind Watch? Bastion? Delphi?

I know this isn't the right thread for it, but can you give me a run down of why I should be interested in this game due to the craving Destiny caused me to have. What's cool about this game? Do I get a house, a family, my own character? You know, stuff that wasn't in Destiny.

Sort of to the first two, definitely yes to the second. You get a castle/HQ that you can customize, a group of companions to interact with, and a very customizable character with dialogue options and everything.

House - Yes! Family - There's romance options so sure. Character - Absolutely.

DA looks amazing.

...I believe Dax was being sarcastic, it's pretty obvious that you're meant to level up the faction and buy the gear you want. The drops are just there for RNG goodness/badness and to dismantle to upgrade the faction gear you bought.

I think people are too focused on the rush to level up to realize they can just work on buying the gear they want tailored to them and upgrade it. Hell, I'm even guilty of it, spent some shards when I shouldn't have.

When you're gaining reps and marks, you're earning towards gear with stats you know and want. When you're farming, you're gambling. My biggest complaint about this is that the 3 other factions don't take PvE/Vanguard marks. Strikes need a mark giving boost as well.

Yeah. I think the RNG stuff on crucible is stupid (you should at least get something for doing well), but the random drops from enemies and stuff is understandable. I think the enemy engram drops just got a bigger focus by everyone because everyone wanted to level as fast as possible and get to the Raid and stuff. Some people put in ridiculous hours that not everyone can do. Like one of the first teams to finish the Raid, a guy on there had clocked in 3 days and 10 hours at least within the first week. That's 80+ hours. That's just insane to me. =/

This is me.

Had a productive weekend with a bunch of gaffers.

Got the exotic bounty for the JuJu and grinder Devil's Lair for the 25 strikes in about 6 hours. Crucible part was easy.

Bought gauntlets from Xur and purple boots from Vanguard.

Tonight did weekly nightfall and got exotic Plan C pulse rifle.

Feeling good. Just need shards. Lots and lots of shards.

Go play DA origins asap.

They should patch out these elemental shields or redesign them. Having enemies that are immune to all but one damage type is such a dumb mechanic when the game doesnt handle weapon switching well and it even punishes you for it.

They're not really immune though, it just takes longer for the shield to go down.

Work with your fire team.

I use an arc sniper for shields, switch to main weapon or void rocket launcher for the kill. You have to work together

Would I have any chance of completing the weekly nightfall strike? I'm a level 27 Defender Titan with fully upgraded level 20 blue weapons. Can't get better weapons for the life of me and was thinking maybe the nightfall would at least give me a chance of scoring an exotic.

Ha I will check it out, only have a PS4 right now but I will try to see what I can do.

Thanks you all for responding I think you all just made me really interested in this game when I was not even going to consider it for this Fall.

One problem though it looked like the controls are slow, would you agree? I like more fluid gameplay that doesn't have my character stuck to the ground. Am I wrong in that assumption? Regardless I am looking into this game! (Because Destiny--)

Yeah that's what we do. My buddy takes down arc shields with his arc damage Time and Patience sniper and I use my Ice Breaker to quickly follow up with headshots.

The weak weapons will make it hard. You'll be doing next to no damage. IF it's the 28, if it's the 26 it won't be too bad.

Oh? I was trying to take down a shielded Wizard and it seemed like it did nothing. Though its hard to put pressure on those since they do ridiculous damage and are constantly running away. I just stood in a corner for few minutes until my super charge and then killed him.

It'd be hard to tell you in a concise fashion. Your best bet is to make a thread/ask Dragon Age and investigate about the game. If you've ever played a modern Bioware title, even Mass Effect, then you know what to expect on teammate interaction and it's supposedly even kicked up a notch. Then an open world fantasy rpg with really fun combat and loads of content. Looks like they learned all their lessons from DA2 as well. So yeah that's it in an extreme nutshell. Make a thread and DragonAgeGAF probably can answer you with more details/point you in the right direction.

These games have both fast paced combat and an option to pause everything and give orders/choose actions in order to take place once you unfreeze.

I really want to do the raid again but I don't want to invest that much time when I won't get any loot. I can't wait till there are multiple raids to do a week.

Do the effects you get from armour stack? Like say if both my helm and gloves have "increased melee speed" do they add together or is one redundant?

Would have to be the level 28 nightfall I think. Pretty sure the level 26 heroic only gives strange coins :(

If you can get a third we can give it a try. Level 27 warlock, full legendary and exotic.

There's a few hard part's but there are some areas you can skip and just run past the enemies, and there's an easy way to beat the boss.

Sorry my first and only destiny question I promise.

Factions. If I join one I don't gain rep for my hunter quartermaster right?

Would it make sense to lvl my qtr master than each faction after? Is that how I'm supposed to treat factions?

I can't wrap my head around if ignoring them is OK for now or if I'm supposed to be chasing one asap. I play both cruc and pve

I just now realized why it was impossible to damage some level 5 mobs while I'm at 23. Is this ever explained in game, because I wasn't aware?
