The proper element does double damage to shields. The only situation where you deal less damage to shields is on Epic difficulty (not Heroic, Epic), where if you use the wrong element, you deal half damage and one enemy of each race has an additional shield type.

But otherwise shields are static per race, so once you know what a given mission contains, you can always bring the right weapon for the job.

... then the Burn skulls add to that mix, by amplifying one damage type.

It's a really elegant system, not sure why you don't like it.

Yes, I was playing on Epic difficulty, I think its also there during some public quests.

I don't like it because it does nothing but make trash mobs take 3 or 4 clips to kill. The Legendary weapon you spent all week upgrading and pouring all your ascendant energy into... well, in this mission its shit because it can barely penetrate the shields of these enemies that are lower level than you.

It would be much more elegant to me if the solution wasn't to keep grinding until you find another random weapon with a random element or spend two weeks worth of marks. It reminds me of vanilla WoW and the nightmare that was resist gear; theres a very good reason Blizzard abandoned that design. It would work better if I could modify the elemental property of the weapon through upgrade perks or special ammunition.

I found two more legendaries while you were gone by the way

I just dismantled them.

I walked into GameStop today and before I could say anything he said "You must have no end of questions". I responded " Yeah what's the trade in value for Destiny?" And he responded "I could tell you of the great trade in value but..."

Then I zoned out because he wasn't making sense.

No but seriously stop it. I haven't gotten a legendary in 3 days and I'm just about at my breaking point. I'm just waiting for Mordor now.

You guys all know the loot cave in old Russia

did they add a building near the cliffs you stand near?

I don't remember hat here am I crazy or is Bungie adding structures?

Fuck Bnet.
I want to see my Guardian on the website.

"This is compatible with Chrome and Firefox"

Then why doesn't it work for me.

Completed nightfall after a long struggle, got legendary engram with three ascendant shards

Farmed cave for 30 min after that, got two legendary engrams with one containing a purple rocket launcher

fuck this loot system

That's why most of my Destiny playtime is gone like this. Bounties > Few PvP matches > Farming Cave of Wonders and thats it. No more busting ass because I did countless of strikes and not once when I killed the boss I was awarded with shit. Not even a useless green drop or something atleast to compensate for me busting my ass.

It's going to be hard no matter what you do.

It's easier than the Thorn version of the strike, at least.

Take a void fusion rifle and HMG, some special/heavy ammo packs, and have plenty of patience. Learn where the leash zones are. There's really only 3 "sets" of enemies to kill here before Phogoth and you can cheese Phogoth pretty reliably.

I'm pretty sure I can solo it now that I know how it works. As a Titan I'd go Striker until Phogoth then switch to Defender for the void grenades.

Epic modifier sucks balls, for the record. Do not want.

The Cryptarch has show mercy on me tonight. Two legendary primary weapons from purple engrams in about two hours of play. Got The Lord High Fixer handgun and Proxima Centaur scout rifle.

Thank oh benevolent cryptarch.

Wow are you Guys serious? Last Time I checked it was OT3 and I think Page 280, now we have OT4 and are already on Page 156.

No Destiny for me in the next two weeks, my PS4 got the Blue Pulse of Death yesterday. Will call the support today to arrange a pick up and repair. Hopefully this will not take too long, but most people claim that you have to wait for two to three weeks for your repaired or a replacement.

Hope you Guys will still play that Game then.

Now I need to find spin metal, relic iron, ascendant shards etc to upgrade the damn legendary items. Such high maintenance. It was fun to do it once, but now I feel like a rag picker on the streets, scavenging for crap scattered across the map.

I've gotten my $60 worth with the number of hours I've put in, but my interest in the game is waning fast. I just want to beat the raid, try iron banner next month and take a break till December for additional content

A lot of people come into these raids thinking its a situation where the weaker team members can be carried to an extent by the more skilled players, but its not the case, and if they end up dying the more skilled players are screwed, because they really do need them. The way they designed the raid is the epitome of the phrase "you are only as strong as your weakest link".

On our first kill someone had to go afk for a bit so were just doing attempts with 5 people until he got back, by the time the guy finally came back someone else had to leave for the night and the person we got to replace him had never stepped in the raid before. We killed it on that first attempt we had 6 again. People can be carried, being out of the fight for 30 seconds doesn't wipe the raid on normal as long as your "skilled players" are organized correctly to cover for your less strong.

I fucking wish there was a way to exchange glimmer for crafting materials.

I don't think I can deal with looking for helium fragments anymore

It's odd. If destiny was a full-fledged MMO or F2P like Guild Wars, I'd be on board so fast.

However, it isn't. I love the idea of a fps having raids and instances while maintaining a PVP environment, but features come in far too short. The Tower is a social hub for players to run around and see each other? Cool, but only 12-16 people can be in the Tower at one time or else folks start getting disconnected/kicked out, and the in-game features are limited to waving, dancing, sitting, and pointing.

Loot is handled by two evils players must decide upon hitting level 20: Grind-fest or RNG. Despite the grind-fest being a sure-fire way to getting decked out in legendaries, the path to it requires getting paltry amounts of reputation to even be allowed to purchase legendary gear.

Maybe I'm upset because I beat the raid, but I don't have much to go for in the game besides raiding until I get bored of it. That's probably the best way to get legendary/exotic gear outside of the Nightfall weekly.

So I'm looking at the Grimoires and I see there are ranks for completing Strikes. Problem is, it's only recorded 18 completions when I've completed well over that - had to do 25 alone for an exotic bounty.

Does this mean Strike Playlists don't count towards that progress?

I've picked up all the dead ghosts except for the Bunker RAS-2 one and the other one in Freehold Station as they were both bugged and never showed up. Has anybody had success getting them to appear (after they didn't initially) ? I even tried glitching out of the map around the Bunker (the way to get into the Seraphim Vault) but I couldn't see the dead ghost.

Anyways, already got the Ghost Hunter trophy so it's more about completing my set of grimoire cards...

Yeah the loot system definitely needs to be tweaked at the player's level and just stop being randomized into greens that have no use.

End game raids and strikes need to have at least rare's and legendary's because for now it does not reward you for the trouble and time you put into it.

It does depend on the players as I said. I had a good team eventually, but if it wasn't a player losing focus it was a glitch with the damn gate a glitch with the relic shield etc.

A lot of the players we gathered were great to speak with but as far as strategy, they wouldn't even TRY going into portals when it was actually easier to go into the gates than to be on harpy watch where most of them would die if one tiny thing fell apart. All the players who went with me into the portals had to do was destroy oracles because I could waste the enemies by myself in 10 seconds. If they happened to get sucked in they would run around like a chicken with their head cut off screaming they were going blind.
