Oh please, other FPS at least have most people with equal footing, this game has distinct gear advantages in PVP and thanks to the shitty lack of matchmaking by ranking, lowbie players with almost no abilities unlocked are put up against players fully maxed out with all kinds of tricks up there sleave to use.
And with so many weapons that do plinking bits of damage, it's sad how many one shot options exist.
When I go into pvp I swap out my sweet ass purple and gold gear for blues. Some of them are like level 14 or some shit.
Rares with the right mods are more than competitive with any legendary or exotic.
There is a lot (a LOT) going on in Destiny pvp, and most people barely understand even a fraction of it, so when they die to a titan shoulder charge, or oveshield, or a warlock overshield, or a hunter cloak or blink, or a warlock self res, or a titan bubble, or a sticky grenade, or a fusion rifle from medium range, or a seemingly even AR fight where the other guy scored his temporary damage bonus, or a heavy weapon shot, or or or or or or or
it feels like BS
When you understand what is going on and what other classes and weapons are capable of, it's a lot less frustrating
Beyond that, solid fundamental fps skills still rule in pvp. And if you go in with even one friend and coordinate just a little, you can kick ass.
I see people who aren't even using the basics of Destiny combat well in pvp yet, much less the nuances.
If you aren't using your primary, your special, your heavy, your melee, your grenade, your jump, your super, and slides, you are not taking advantage of your basic tools.
Weapon mods and class builds are secondary to those basics, and they are what you should be focusing on if you're struggling in pvp.
