There were two that I found, the gorgon one is the last one.
The other one I got is just before there, after jumping down the cliff to where you respawn on maze failure, there are rock favces to your left, up to your top left there is a hole in the wall that is really hard to notice. Going through the opening and following the path round gets you a second. The first one is right after you open the gate at the start. You head right down a path and twist and turn through a cramped area till you find a third (technically first) chest.

Thanks man. I even missed the first one then. So that one is even before the first boss? Well, guess I can start hunting tomorrow again. Didn't finish the raid this week too.

Lol no. Same thing happened to me. Yesterday all my blues turned into greens as well. Cryptarch is fucking with me after giving me an exotic from a legendary.

Also he said just after, "Can't stop now, need more coffee." That bastard is up to something.
Wonder what that's like!!! Must be nice!

Said it before and I'll say it again. These cave farmers spend $60, I repeat SIXTY DOLLARS, to go shoot into a virtual cave for hours. For what? So you could get that legendary loot sooner than everyone else? Sorry, but that's just ridiculous to me.

Is there any evidence that they're really getting it sooner? I'm genuinely curious if these cave farmers are actually out-gearing me in the same amount of time.

I'm at light 27 and I've bought all my gear save one piece. It didn't take me that long either.

There's a reddit thread on the whole thing and it's awful. People in all caps shouting, "STOP MOVING WHEN YOU SHOOT AT THE CAVE" or "You don't even have to shoot to get loot." Or "I only do this because patrols and story missions are boring."

So let me get this straight, the rest of the game is too boring, so you've chosen a method of playing that involves standing still and pulling the right trigger? Does not compute.

Farm marks & rep, people, not engrams. You get a legendary weapon from factions every time you level them past 3. You can buy 2 legendaries a week minimum from the factions. You can buy exotics from Xur. For reasonable prices. These kind of options are not available in game like Diablo, so stop treating this game like Diablo where you care about drops.

If you want to farm the treasure cave, that's fine, but don't complain about a system that's not intended to be the primary way to gear.

I got from 20 to 24 in about 3 hours farming the cave. But whatever, I don't see why it's such a contentious thing. If people want to farm the cave let them.

Almost 4 days of gametime helps, I need to put the game down :|

In all fairness, I only recently started getting any luck. I've turned in hundreds of engrams.

We should play together, but I never see you on when I am.

100 more points till Crucible lvl 3, can't believe my MP vendor leveled up way faster than PVE vendor since I generally avoid PVP in most games.

that surprised me too. I'm in pve almost all of the time, but after a night of pvp bounties I'm mark maxed on pvp and still quite far from getting my level 2 vanguard rank. Not sure where I'm at with pvp rep since I don't have enough marks to buy anything, and also not sure where I'm at with pve marks since I don't have the rep to buy anything.

I honestly have no idea how you get to light 27 simply through rep gains at this point in the game, and it not take that long.

Last night when I was doing a bounty, I saw two people perched up on a large rock on Mars trying to farm a cave that Vex come out of. Nothing was happening though, at least not with the regularity that it does with the Old Russia cave. Cabal kept spawn out of the fortification post to the right, but the Vex spilling out of the cave seem to be a lot less frequent.

I've managed to get a legendary auto rifle, exotic rocket launcher, and legendary gear from Dead Orbit simply by playing the game the way I would anyway. I'll buy legendary gauntlets next and then leave the helmet to a strange coin purchase from Xur. I've gotten Zilch from legendary engrams, but if you build up faction loyalty, you gain access to what you want anyway. I won't say they provided enough new content for levels 20 - 26 (they didn't), but between bounties and multiplayer I'm almost at 26. Nothing I've been doing is what I'd describe as "grinding" or the like. I'm probably not touching Vault of Glass until much later on though.

Because you can buy a full set of legendary gear in 8 days, regardless of which item slot Xur has as exotic.

Cap both marks one week, buy one exotic armor piece from xur that week, get ~20-30 of each mark on the reset day, buy legendaries.

Hey presto, you're now raid capable and can go all the way to 29 if you want to burn ascendant mats on non raid armor.

I think it's just a different trigger for some people. Seeing that purple orb pop out is thrilling for some in a way that buying it isn't.

I should copy/paste what I wrote earlier today when people say to stop cave camping. tl/dr: drops should be a good way to get random legendary, buying should get you the specific item with the perk that fits your build and even the right color.

Right now, neither of those are true.

I farm the cave mostly for crafting materials (gun parts), and if I have some specific bounties to take care of (kill 20 enemies without taking damage or the 9000 XP without dying). Granted, I did get 2 legendary weapons from there, but the majority of my gear was purchased from vendors after reaching Rank 2 Vanguard/Dead Orbit. I did luck out in Crucible and got a Legendary Helm, which is one of the helmets the Crucible vendor sells. I'm not even Rank 2 in Crucible so I felt super lucky.

So a guy hit level 30 by getting all the raid gear and upgrading it for his hunter. How did he do this you ask? He made three hunters and leveled them all up and played the raid one time each per character. Gave all loot to his main hunter. This is the part where you lol and make jokes about him not having a life. Wait though. He's got a girlfriend who isn't mad about all this.

Pray to RNGesus that you don't meet this guy in the iron banner. He's gonna send us home crying 😭

Just got this from a Legendary engram;

I already have the Suros Regime as my main exotic weapon though so it won't replace that but still handy to have.
I like this. My only exotic and fits well with my Legendary shotty, Justice. I am a peace keeper

I work on a little to do list while I'm at work for what I want to accomplish in the game during my limited weekday play time. For example: tonight I want to do the heroic daily mission (since it's on Venus), do the 200 pieces from Venus enemies bounty, public event and maybe farm the treasure cave for a couple rounds if time allows. I have about an hour to work with. Tomorrow I will dive into the Queens wrath stuff and probably grind that the majority of the next 2 weeks, minus attempting the weekly strike (really wish there was matchmaking there). I'm a level 24 and only have one piece of legendary gear and one legendary sniper rifle. I'm loving the game so far, just trying to gear up better before any raid attempt. Also need to find 4 other people for that...

After reading some posts in this thread, I'm sad I went for Thorn instead of Invective :(

Me too :(

(... I got Invective later :D)

If it makes you feel any better, Thorn looks and sounds amazing, and if they ever do buff it, you'll have a badass HC.

It has a few niche uses, but it's not a primary I use all the time sadly.

I'm now praying for Hawkmoon or Last Word.

He's got a girlfriend, but does he have a job? :P

I know but I guess I don't see this as "not taking a lot of time".

Haha more power to him for going through who knows how many hours for each character. Imagine the monotony of leveling up three Hunters to that level. I know I won't be going anywhere near Iron Banner unless I'm level 29-30.

Let it out, Mr. Famicom, let it all out...

It's ok. I still have a rare hand cannon with explosive rounds (which basically give me double damage) and good reload speed. And since you can only equip one exotic weapon at a time, I can use that and equip my exotic machine gun instead :)

I like to immediately start dancing while my back is turned to enemies when I pop the shield. Then start karate-chopping when fools come steppin' in my house.
I find it works best in crucible free for all. Fools keep going to the place they died, probably for revenge. I wooped all five challengers a couple times. Gives you a brawler medal.

LOL I just watched that angry joe review/rant. the funniest part is when he gets 11 ascendant mats and is pissed. Fuck I would kill for that right about now.

I have 8, enough to do one upgrade tier but I am holding onto them to use on raid gear.
