I know but I guess I don't see this as "not taking a lot of time".
10 strikes and 10 public events in a full week to cap vanguard marks. Actually a little less, not counting weeklies. Or you could just loop PEs, takes maybe four hours to cap?
25 pvp matches and 500 mats to cap crucible marks is, what, 4 hours of pvp and 2-3 hours farming patrols, which tie right into completing PEs?
I'm not sure what the total is, but it's probably less than 15-20 hours in a week, and if you cut it down to just one type of mark to cap because you don't have enough time, it's even less.
2-3 hours a day is probably too much for people with Actual Responsibilities, but 1-2 seems manageable, and I'm pretty sure you can cap one currency every week with an hour or less per day.
If you can't handle ~10 hours a week to cap your gear in two weeks time, we'll have to disagree on the definition of 'too much time'. I can agree on 20+ hours a week being too much, but you'd only have to do that one time (you only need one week with both marks capped, you literally complete both on day 8).
Anyway, point is, you can get fully geared up without a really heavy time investment, in a few weeks time, with 0 rng.
