And your faux-arrogance about how you acquire gear in a mediocre game is laughable. Only elitists give a shit about who farms for gear in Destiny.

It's not that people care if you farm, it's that people care that the people crying for 2 weeks nonstops about purple engrams turning into blue gbear could have all purple armor in the same amount of time or less.

I wish you could automatically dismantle every green, and eventually every blue weapon/ piece of gear you pick up. Too Human let you do this. Too Human was a fucking AWESOME loot game.

So you paid $60 to shoot into a virtual cave for hours on end. So what happens when you level up to wherever you're trying to get to? Do you then start to "play the game?" It's just so strange to me that someone would pay the money to do this and not even really play the game as it is intended to be played.

If you enjoy it, cool I guess. It's just really odd.

The cave thing is another way to play IMO. Every game has a farming spot. Now for example, I really really want a exotic handcannon but I know with my luck Im not gnna get it. So why not shoot at that damm cave for 30 min and do bounties. Then move on to do marks and reputation. And people enjoy the game more once they get the weapon they want.

A shrug is exactly the correct response to elitists who 'care' about how you get gear. Oh and in case you forgot this isn't SpaceChem. You're not exactly using your brain when you fire at a boss with high health either. Get over yourself.

My only question is what exactly is the end goal of cave farmers. There us a glimmer cap and you can only hoard so much gear.

At what point are you geared enough to actually start playing? Are you trying to to max out your character and then breeze through the raid? lol.

The strikes IMHO are practice and to build teamwork. I can't imagine trying to do the harder stuff with people who have spent 99% of their playtime shooting at a cave.

I just hit rank 20 the other day, and I'm trying to figure out how to increase my light. I have a chest piece with 6 light and legs with 2. Are these the normal amounts of light I can expect from blue gear? 2 seems awfully low, especially when I need 20 just to progress one more rank.

Yeah... Going to stop clicking on the Review thread. What is wrong with me? :( That thread is honestly ruining the game for me...

Whatever, man. You're wasting good farming time.

Don't worry about me, 'man'. I'm at work and already got my Exotic yesterday from the cave while you likely whined about how people play a loot game, as if anyone actually gives a shit about where you got your gear in the end.

Too bad the clan system is half assed and doesn't even exist in game for some dumb ass reason. Halo fucking 2 clans were infinitely better in basically every way possible.

QFT. Going on Bungie.net to just add people to a clan is nuts. Also, I don't know if the current way to join clans is dumbproof (ran into an issue yesterday where someone didn't know how to join a clan and waited 30 minutes for him to figure it out).

I would be totally up for being a part of this. That being said, with the relatively poor clan support, would it do any good to create another subclan with that in mind? It would almost be just as efficient to create a separate google doc or sub thread (or something) of people who want to dedicate time to raid specifically. I've partnered with several people here for group content, but none of them have been part of my clan specifically.

That makes sense. Either way, I think we do need a subset or separate discussion for organizing raid times instead of fishing in the OT for people.

Given we have folks for different consoles as well, perhaps a spreadsheet might be a better idea. The spreadsheet would be specifically for people interested in raiding, and we could list the console(s) we play on, our PSN/Gamertag, our class and level, and preferred times to raid. Adding yourself to said spreadsheet would mean you're okay with people sending you friend requests.

Can this be elaborated on a bit more? Sorry it's such a basic question, but I only tried Crucible last night for the first time at level 7. I was aware that certain modes, like Control, state that "level advantages are disabled" - but wanted clarification on that.

So my understanding from the quoted comments is that my basic weapons do the same damage as the rare/legendary/exotic weapons that I am up against? Weapon's Impact rating is what is normalized? But all the other specs of a weapon - reload speed, magazine size, stability, range - my basic weapon will remain outclassed in those aspects?

And what about the abilities and armor of the level 20-27 Guardians I am up against? Those level advantages are not disabled? Thanks.

The Attack is normalized. Impact and every other stat remain as is. Weapon upgrades like "Last half of the magazine deals bonus damage" or "Kills with this weapon decrease grenade cooldown" also carry over. Same thing with Armor. All Armor will be normailzed, but any upgrades it has (Carry more AR ammo, etc) carry over.

For example, look at this Exotic Sniper. Its Attack is 396. In Crucible, all sniper rifles will have the same Attack (let's just say 100). Everything else carries over. A Level 5 sniper rifle could do more damage if it had a higher Impact rating, but the exotic sniper has so many upgrade abilities (going invisible while ADS is just one ability) that it simply outclasses the Level 5 sniper rifle. If you are a veteran FPS player and have very good reflexes and good situational awareness, you'll still kick everyone's ass even if they are using Exotics/Legendaries and you're using Level 1 guns and armor.

But another thing that higher level players have is the fact that they probably have a maxed out skill tree, which gives them the choice of different grenades, the ability to choose different skills that change the amount of Armor, Recovery, and Agility they have. A Bladedancer Hunter starts off with very low Armor and high Agility, but can spec their character so they have more Armor instead.

Hey if anyone wants to farm engrams and generally bullshit with me, I'll be on Xbox One here in about 5 minutes. I'm a level 24 Warlock. Just add me! VirtualxRacer

Hope to see you online!

Off topic. Really? Bad reviews scared me too much to try it. Should I?

Too Human was awesome. Unfairly hated on because it was hyped to the moon for so long before it came out and wasn't what people were expecting (sound familiar?). If you can find a copy give it a shot. Its pretty fun.

Rahool loves fucking with us. He enjoys it.

Bungie, sequel better have the bastard as a Boss so that I can kill him over and over and over again.

Yesss, that bastard made me jump and scream fuck yess at the legendary helmet only to see it was for a hunter..., im a lvl 26 warlock...

I agree. In BL2 we farmed Terramorphous for loot, but atleast he's a boss. It's just a shame that a pack of Thralls or entry level Acolytes drop more loot than the bosses do :/

Related, the vendors in the Tower are a missed opportunity. There are potentially a lot of different characters to sketch out there, but they are stripped down to serve their basic function and no more; they're dispensers of stuff, not vendors. There are no strong personalities, they don't comment on the story as it progresses, they don't have histories or offer missions of their own. They just stand in one spot and dispense gear or bounties. (Some of my favorite characters in Skyrim were vendors; the general store dude in Whiterun was hilarious.) Another window for story telling, not utilized.

Yeah, it's kind of mind boggling that they spent the money to hire proper actors like Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, and Lance Reddick to only have them deliver the most basic and nondescript of video-game merchant dialog, and maybe an out of context monologue preceding a one-off mission. And those patrol mission VO's, which constitute like 5 sentences per actor. It feels like each actor's entire script would fit on one page.

I really do like this game and I'm still having loads of fun, but sometimes makes me wonder why this game took 6 years to make.

Is it filled with a bunch of people that don't like the game but feel the need to bash it endlessly? Because that's my guess.

He will be a raid boss.

3 people will be teleported to the farming cave. You'll have to kill waves until you get 3 legendary engrams to drop. The other 3 players will have to patrol as fast as possible to get enough reputation to get to rank 3 in the fake-evil version of vanguard to buy raid-use-only weapons.

When the whole team has their items, the three farmers will have to dismantle all the blues they'd get from the engrams and throw the weapon parts at Rahool while the other 3 teammates shoot him with the guns they bought.

Repeat this until dead.

I could definitely go for a spreadsheet with people who are interested in grouping up. I just got a PS4 and I only have 1 PSN friend. Something feels missing with Destiny and I'm sure it would be more fun as a group.

Got shown by a buddy of mine how to get out into a hangar:

My "final pre-raid form". Just need to find the boots or buy them, and it will be GG:

Nightfall loot from earlier, those 2 guys also got couple of engrams during Strike itself that both turned out to be Exotics:

Made a video of how to get into hangar:

Yes I agree, we should be able to farm a boss lol, hell make it a lvl 28 strike with guaranteed loot.

Yeah, that seems likely.

as if anyone actually gives a shit about where you got your gear in the end.

Just for consistency's sake, I'll say it once more: I don't care how you get your gear. I don't care how anyone gets their gear. I barely even care about gear past Light Levels.

The guy asked posters in this forum for their opinions on a subject. I offered him my opinion, and you were condescending about it before I even acknowledged your existence.

This game has fucked up my sleep schedule so much. Every single night it's "let me do one more thing." And that lasts till 12 or 1 AM.
