Have any of you people questioning the cave farm ever played an mmo?

-

Finally got the exotic bounty. Chose "A Dubious Task". Some of these Exotic bounties are really fun to do imo, helped a friend acquire thorn earlier.

Will be trying dual shotguns soon. Apologies Crucible.

I think the endgame for the cave is leveling up the cryptarch. I can regularly get 7-10 blue engrams for 30 minutes. Thats much more than any raid or however many crucible matches I can complete in that time.

Plus, I regularly get at least one event when I do it, and a chance for the enemies to mass. That's a ton of fun.

"I'm going to tell you something important now, so you better dig the wax out of those huge ears of yours and listen! The reputation of Team Gurren echoes far and wide. When they talk about its badass leader - the man of indomitable spirit and masculinity - they're talking about me! The mighty Kamina!"

Unrelated but since its one my fave anime and your gnna do a raid. I thought this quote would perfect.

Yes I agree, we should be able to farm a boss lol, hell make it a lvl 28 strike with guaranteed loot.

All the strikes should have guaranteed loot if you ask me.

Devil's Lair heroic = guaranteed head
Moon heroic = guaranteed gauntlets
Venus heroic 1 = guaranteed chest
Venus heroic 2 = guaranteed legs
Mars heroic 1 = guaranteed primary
Mars heroic 2= guaranteed secondary

Dunno where you'd fit a guaranteed heavy weapon, but you catch my drift. Someone could probably think of a better way to distribute it. Also, the armor should solely be for your class considering there's no way to trade

Damage is equal in the crucible. Higher levels will just get the little bonuses their weapons have over lower level ones. But you can still kill just as fast as they can. I've been in many lobbies where lower levels get the highest scores.

Or maybe because they're in game to do jack shit? I've had a couple of games like that last night where a lvl25 and 26 were the worst with 1 or 2 kills and maybe twice as many deaths. I needed to get 3 wins for the bounty and it took me 7 to get three wins because of these assholes. I was annoyed.

Ship:
ByKL6tyIEAAKzff.jpg:orig

Of all my critiques of the game, the most nitpicky is the ship design and animation. Ship designs, barring a few, are pretty disappointing. They look more like ships lifted from arcadey shoot-em-ups than anything else. Compare them to what is in Elite: Dangerous or Star Citizen and they just look BAD.

The animations really aren't much better. They don't move like actual spaceships would--way too agile.

I'm not asking for sim levels of realism, but your ship ACTUALLY looks like a car putting on its brakes when you exit hyperspace. It's goofy as fuck.

I get what you're saying but I can't agree that that the cave shouldn't be fixed. Level 20+ should not be in a starting zone shooting level 3-5 mobs for end game gear. It's poor game design, brought on by the lack of loot from other end game sources. Don't get me wrong I'll continue to take advantage of it, but I can't imagine this not getting changed at some point, I'm honestly a little surprised it's still going.
Emphasis Added

I wasn't very clear but I actually agree with you, I see the grind cave as a natural response to what you've highlighted. If the standard PvE content offered decent rewards for the player stretching themselves (say an X% boost to drop rates on missions for each level above your character's level i.e lvl 15 taking on a lvl 17 mission gets a 2*X% boost) then there is no need for grind cave. As it is though my friends are about to hit lvl 20 largely rocking uncommon gear which is grossly underpowered for most post game content.

Where I suppose we differ is that I would be against the nerfing of grind cave if they didn't address the loot drop system first as otherwise I could see a lot of my core group getting wiped 4 or 5 times and going 'F this, I'm off back to BF4'.

but feeding the crypt arch engrams just gets you... more engrams.

Has there been confirmation of what leveling up the cryparch accomplishes?

You get a bonus package at the postmaster which can contain rare and legendary engrams when you level him up. I think these start appearing at Level 5 or something. The engrams may/may not be good items, as per RNG.

Fuck yeah, got the primary shotgun from the Nightfall. Thanks again for the help guys!
Edit: kinda sucks that the xp bonus ends at the weekly reset though (aka tonight). :(

I am actually planing on screaming GIGA DURRRILLL BREAKAAAA, in case we beat the final boss!

So, how hard is the nightfall strike? I've not done it yet, but I'm hoping to this week. Lvl 27 titan, but will have to pug it most likely.

It's doable, but it's no walk in the park with the wizards being dickheads and the knights having arc shields to fuck with us.

If you're not lactose intolerant, you can cheese the boss.

Which legendary pulse rifle should I dismantle? Strange Suspect or Fair and Square? The one I don't don't dismantle will be my main weapon for now.

Also, is it possible to get ascendant shards from dismantling weapons or would it just be ascendant energy?

This game has fucked up my sleep schedule so much. Every single night it's "let me do one more thing." And that lasts till 12 or 1 AM.

Yup. Every night since last Sunday Ive gone to bed after 130AM. My body got used to it pretty quick though.

Ive never had a game do that to me before. No complaints here. Im having a blast every single night. One of the most fun games Ive played in a really long time.

people seem to ignore a lot of the story missions have guaranteed gear as you level.

I feel like in a few months Destiny will undergo a Diablo 3 like retooling that fixes the loot system into something better and less grindy. At least I'm hoping for this...

I mean, for leveling that's fine. I know the story missions do this, but after level 20, you're on your own.

What I wrote out would be for the heroic levels, or rather difficulties past 20 I suppose.

Anyone have any tips to being a good defender Titan? I'm level 25 and feel like I still don't really know how to use my bubble. I usually save it for rezzing people who die in a hot zone, but I still feel like I'm missing opportunities to be more useful.

It has to happen sooner or later. They need to tweak the loot system bad. I'm about done with this game.

Yeah, that seems likely.

Just for consistency's sake, I'll say it once more: I don't care how you get your gear. I don't care how anyone gets their gear. I barely even care about gear past Light Levels.

The guy asked posters in this forum for their opinions on a subject. I offered him my opinion, and you were condescending about it before I even acknowledged your existence.

Don't worry about this Marcel dude. He's going to pay his $60 and shoot into a cave and then go talk about how awesome it is to have all this high level gear. That's cool and all, but I'll remind you he PAID $60 TO SHOOT INTO A CAVE. What an accomplishment that must feel like. I know that's why I play games.

Ok, I saw some theories that leveling him up would increase the chance of rolling better loot. As in a better chance at rolling a leg with a leg engram opposed to the awful percentages posted in Reddit last week.

Edit: The engram system is baffling to me. If it is going to be a gambling system, than the point of entry should be way lower. If a purple can roll a green then every green should be able to roll a purple. But nope, greens just turn in to instant decrypt gear at some point. If you can roll 20 purples with no leg gear, then the purples should be dropping off every damn boss and most elites when playing on harder difficulties. RNG to then RNG is shit.

I agree. In BL2 we farmed Terramorphous for loot, but atleast he's a boss. It's just a shame that a pack of Thralls or entry level Acolytes drop more loot than the bosses do :/

Terra? I spent the majority of my time farming Mick Zaford (dat Maggie!) and Doc Mercy; never got an Infinity to drop. Ever. *sobs*

I agree that named bosses-- at the very least those with dedicated Grimoire cards-- ought to have a significantly higher chance to drop legendaries as well as just flat out drop a bunch of trash engrams that we can at least break down for weapon parts, etc..

Me and milkham currently doing thorn hand cannon Xyor bounty, up to last section with photos but having trouble after multiple retries. Anyone able to join in and help us take out this asshole?

I hope so. The reward/loot system needs serious reworking for it to be competent.

Argh, agreed. "Lemme just go check the tower again... maybe just one more PE... damn, I just got an invite to a fireteam, it would be rude not to accept..."

I'll be on tonight, lvl25 Hunter on PS4. GKW212

Not sure if we've already added each other.

sit inside the room before the boss room and wait for him to spawn, or go to the rock spot on the far left

I think people are just guessing. My Cryptarch is at 11 but still gives me greens from blue engrams. At this point I just want Ascendant Shards...

Gotcha. Already sporting rare/leg weaponry for the three damage types, so will hopefully be somewhat prepared. Don't intend to cheese phog, tho.
