For new page; where do I find this:

Gonna guess that's the raid cloak Luke was telling me about when I almost bought the snake cloak, lol.

Argh, agreed. "Lemme just go check the tower again... maybe just one more PE... damn, I just got an invite to a fireteam, it would be rude not to accept..."

I'll be on tonight, lvl25 Hunter on PS4. GKW212

Not sure if we've already added each other.

Im at work right now, but add me on PSN: TestSubject15. Im a 25 Hunter too and Ive got quite a loyal fireteam squad already that Im with every night, but we need people for our clan to take on the raid so youre more than welcome to join! The clan name is "Vic Vipers"

I just hit rank 20 the other day, and I'm trying to figure out how to increase my light. I have a chest piece with 6 light and legs with 2. Are these the normal amounts of light I can expect from blue gear? 2 seems awfully low, especially when I need 20 just to progress one more rank.

The level 20 blues will have the most light value, compared to level 16, 17, 18 & 19 blues. It goes up a little bit as you upgrade the item. Of course, purples and exotics have the best light values.

Ok, I saw some theories that leveling him up would increase the chance of rolling better loot. As in a better chance at rolling a leg with a leg engram opposed to the awful percentages posted in Reddit last week.

Edit: The engram system is baffling to me. If it is going to be a gambling system, than the point of entry should be way lower. If a purple can roll a green then every green should be able to roll a purple. But nope, greens just turn in to instant decrypt gear at some point. If you can roll 20 purples with no leg gear, then the purples should be dropping off every damn boss and most elites when playing on harder difficulties. RNG to then RNG is shit.

Level 3 is when the you'll start getting stuff in the mail. But I don't think there has been any evidence to support the higher level = better decrypt, despite the theories.

The big question will be if Destiny has enough staying power to warrant the constant tweaking and experimenting required to get it right. Heck, it took D3 over two years to finally get their loot system to a good spot, and some would argue that even now it's not balanced. Will anyone still be playing Destiny in two years?

A bit off topic, but now I'm glad that The Division was delayed. These guys can now look at Destiny and make proper adjustment to how look should work (I want that game to be near perfect)

I'm assuming that Destiny and The Division are similar games.

Ditto. It's legit bad. Luckily I got a few normal nights in or I'm pretty sure I'd have the flu by now.

It's a vicious cycle to be sure. I'm positive that my playing impacted my sleep to the point that adding in regular trips to the gym and long days at work meant that I had "that feeling" in the back of my throat Friday night which meant a cold was inbound.

So I just stayed home all weekend drinking tons of tea (and a Hot Toddy here and there)... playing Destiny.

Now I'm right as rain and can begin the cycle again!

hey guise, aside from ruining my life this game will ruin my ps4. it froze so i turned off via the button and after a while tried to turn it on but it wouldnt let me and the orange strip just kept blinking so it was probably overheated

Sigh, spent hours farming the treasure cave this weekend but only wound up with 10 strange coins even after doing the weekly strike. I really wanted that titan helm too.

I'm at 24 now, and frankly, farming the cave isn't worth the time anymore. I've got the best blues I'm likely to get randomly, and the two legendary engrams turned out to be crap. My time is better spent in the crucible or the strike playlist to earn my purples the hard way.

Maybe I'm wrong in this but too much seems dependent on bounties. To me when they were described they were suppose to just be bonuses or extra things you can do. But they seem pretty mandatory from what I've gathered.

Am I crazy or do you not get XP for Raid enemies? It seemed clear there are no drops, but I feel like I would have leveled something up killing so many 25+s

I thought you get XP for everything you normally would have before you hit the cap anyway, it's jus that the XP is going toward your next Mote of Light.

The more I play, the more I love it, the more the hate confounds.

Seems to me the reaction we've seen says more about the state of the gaming community rather than the game itself.

posting for a new page;

Is it worth joining a faction of you never play crucible? From what I read you can get the reputation up to lvl3, then every level after that nets u a legendary? And why is all the gear that factions sell labeled Crucible?

If I raid in one group and I am not the fireteam leader is my progress saved?

I want to raid with two groups can that be done if I just tag along and am not the fireteam leader? I don't want to screw anyone up.

You should also make progress toward weapon/armor upgrades as well then, but in three hours of raiding we didn't, so I think Ben is right.

No it's not, you're leveling up your armor and weapons too. (And my subclass if I wasn't already maxed I ain't gonna run a raid with no halfway defender lol)

I'm not having that much fun with the endgame anymore. This is easily one of the grindiest games I've ever played. The amount of materials you need to farm in order to fully upgrade all your legendary/exotic equipment is fucking ridiculous. It takes days, maybe weeks, of farming to fully upgrade your shit. I feel like Bungie did this in order to add extra padding to their short-ass game.

Well, the main benefit to factions is that your rep goes entirely to your faction instead of splitting between van/cruc, but if you really never play crucible you're better off leveling vanguard because you need crucible marks to buy faction gear. Yes, you do get legendaries for leveling, but you're better off int the long run sticking to van and just buying the gear you need.

The gear factions sell require Crucible marks, so yeah, if you're never going to play Crucible you don't have to join one. You can level up Vanguard instead through PvE stuff. And you can still get Legendaries every rank past 3 with Vanguard (All factions do this).

thanks guys - I will burn my faction cloak immediately!

Holy hell...
So I decide to try out the skywatch cave, and in 20 minutes I get 4 blue engrams, a purple, and a ton of greens. End up getting Lord High Fixer (legendary hand cannon), the Last Word (exotic hand cannon), and a bunch of cash and the like. In 20 minutes.... I didn't get that much after an hour of level 24 strikes

Absolutely, 100%'ly positively Destiny will still have a large playerbase in 2 years. I honestly can't think of a single MMO in history that had a smooth launch. They're always rough around the edges at launch. I've been playing MMOs for over 10 years and never seen a game be perfect at launch. To be quite honest, Destiny is one of the best and most polished MMOs I've seen at launch and I think in 2 years it will be leaps and bounds above the competition. And if they keep releasing paid expansion packs every 3 months like it seems they're on track to do, then the amount of content is going to just explode.
