For the Warlocks out there, are you guys gunning for Voidfang Vestments or Heart of the Praxic fire?

I think I'd rather have the Heart of Praxic Fire because I'm really enjoying being a Sunsinger. I've been trying to max it out since I unlocked it at level 15. I just unlocked Fireborn this weekend and have had a lot of fun with it in the Crucible. Once I max out Sunsinger, I'll probably switch back to Voidwalker to max that subclass out as well to make myself as versatile as possible.

As far as gear drops go, I'm currently grinding through the FWC to get some armor from them since I haven't had a level 20 Rare drop yet (let alone Exotic or Legendary). I'm not complaining (mostly due to the fear of upsetting the almighty RNGod).

Events like Iron Banner are temporary because they're planned to give out new weapons and gear that will be exclusive to each specific instance of the event.

So people who earn the rewards during that first Iron Banner will be the only ones to ever have those items (as opposed to things like the Exotic Bounties which ensure that tons of people have Thorn/Bad Juju/Invective/etc..).

And I'm ok with that. It makes sense in that they're spacing out certain parts of the game to keep us hooked. I will definitely hop onto Iron Banner (and promptly get spanked) in the hopes that I can get some of that gear I can get no place else. It's actually a smart way of keeping Destiny from becoming stale.

What does the Impact rating affect in your weapons? I always assumed that it increases the chance of staggering/

think about it as damage per bullet, i think staggering is a weapon stat on its own, at least it is for my machine gun

No. It doesn't. Gear stats like armor and attack are normalized, but your opponents will have gear perks and abilities according to their level.

Interesting. I've been saving up for either the Shadow Price or Doctor Nope, going back and forth for which gun to get. So does the Shadow Price have a more consistent damage output since it has higher impact?

It makes me laugh that my Warlock and Titan, both still lying dead in a rusty old car beyond the walls of Skywatch are better equiped than my Hunter.

As soon as the reset hits, I can hit the Vanguard marks hard and get myself a couple of Legendary armor pieces.

Come the weekend, I should be able to go to Xur and buy both armor and weapon exotics, as well as gamble on the engram.

I like it too as a way to actually have players look different as most games, regardless of the amount of items, end up with everyone having the same gear eventually. The thing is.. having one time only availability for gear is a risky venture because it angers a lot of people who don't have the time to participate for whatever reason.

It really doesn't take too long with this weeks strike. Just kill the easy things in the first room, sprint by to the chamber that you start the event in and kill the first group that is all easy stuff and die.

How does the Silvered Hushwind compare to the Shingen-E? Stats seem fairly similar, but is it in action?

I really do enjoy some of the story missions, but it's really lame that we don't get any loot at the reward screen. :|

I was just playing through as other builds and grabbing items at the rewards screen so it seems they drop loot while you're low level or the first time they're completed. Of course the loot is useless, but maybe they drop better stuff if ran at the highest difficulties? Never tried them yet but I should really give it a shot.

Yup you can get a bunch of ships randomly from bounties. I've gotten 2 or 3, including that one.

I haven't played as a Bladedancer, but holy shit, it can be frustrating. I get the whole "if you see one, get as far away as possible" mentality, but it looks like they just zap from player to player and insta-kill them. Is that right? Haven't played much PvP.

That's pretty much right. Bladedancers need only become button mashers as soon as they pop their super. More annoyingly, the blink jump (also available to warlocks but not nearly as abusable) encourages stereotypical shooter play. (i.e. if you're being shot or see an opposing player, start jumping like a knob) Also, for campers, there's the option for stealth camo when crouching.

Where did you hear this? The Dark Below DLC is supposed to be tied strictly to the Moon, and the House of Wolves-- it's speculated-- located within the Reef as that's the house the Queen had assumed leadership of.

The locked areas in Old Russia don't seem to be tied to either of those.

The datamined information seems to indicate otherwise - that most of those 2 expansions take place in the Cosmodrome.

Oh wow guys: So I went back to tower to get my ascended shard for beating a public event and the post master had a lost legendary engram that I must have missed somehow (it was a helmet). I was like okay w/e. Took it to the troll and it ended up being some kind of Exotic helmet for the hunter with a life form growing out of it.

It's called Achlyophage Symbiote.

I wanted the Splinter Cell one, but this is cool too!
