Destiny |OT4| Get your ass to the Vault of Glass and help Timmins find better pants

The enemies grow ever-more numerous and powerful, until it almost seems like the game is broken, or bugging out. But eventually, the battle does end. The final enemy vanishes, the final superpower is spent, and silence settles across the field. Without a word, every player lines back up in formation, aims, and begins to shoot into the cave once more.

In the space of about five minutes, Destiny has summarized itself. The pull of the slot machines may be strong, but this casino has a hell of a dance floor.

This made me laugh. We will continue to dance for those exotics!

bleh, bad juju, thorn and invective bounties again. already trashed thorn the first time so it's between juju and invective, neither of which i use in PvP.

is juju at least decent in PvE?

I would be ecstatic if I got 2 exotic bounties even if they were the same...Still waiting for my first.

Why is the story so bad lol.

Destiny's story engram got downgraded by the Cryptarch. Blaming him is probably easier than doing the mental gymnastics trying to figure how they thought the story was adequate/releasable in its current state.

Inventive, even fully upgraded for stability, has like zero stability. Thing flails around more than a Parkinsons patient.

How do the Subclasses work? Do I only gain experience in the equipped Subclass or do they both improve at the same time?

So any recommendations to take on the Nightfall strike solo? I've seen some people post that they'd done it. I feel like as a Warlock I may have the easiest time. Does the strat basically boil down to: bring lots of ammo synthesis, take it slow, bring multiple dmg types and cheese the room with the 3 waves and the final boss?

Anyone else notice you can shoot grenades? I got mine shot as I threw it in the crucible and died. It's a pretty cool feature to have that makes the game seem polished. Strange they seem to have worked more on polishing the game than they have on actually writing a story.

Why is that strange? Seems the right priority for the type of game Destiny is.
This whole Destiny 'debacle' that NeoGaf seems to make of the game has turned me off from this forum. I feel physically ill when I see some of the replies in that Destiny review thread.

Excellent troll or...?

Not as good as your own!

I never thought I would play a Bungie Multiplayer worse than Reach but they've done the impossible here.

So much hyperbole and entitlement about this release. Surprised there isn't a petition yet.

So apparently the Exotic weapon bounty for the weekly heroic/dark strike is bugged. I did a normal matchmade strike on Wolf playlist. the one where you fight the Cabal with that one tank, and I got the next part of the bounty in it.

Story isn't near finished. Remember, this is a ten year plan.

In ten years we'll finally know what that black pudding at the end of the game is, or why the Cryptarch hates everyone.

Settle in, guardian.

Waiting for the rest of the team but we may have some open spots for the Raid. We are at the last boss and can regularly get him to quarter health remaining.

PS4 - 27 or above is best (replacing a 28)

I love that it doesn't matter if I put a sticky bomb on the hunters chest, he still keeps dancing. Same with the titan smash as I've double jumped away and I'm a good 30 feet in the air. Doesn't matter, instakill. It's happened to me and fireteammates multiple times.

In a game that provides some fantastic options for build variation, I find it (slightly) disappointing that one particular subclass with specific perks enabled is so blatantly optimal for PVP. I'm really enjoying my time with Destiny and will continue to play its PVP in spite of any and all nerfs/buffs because the core gameplay loop is so much damn fun, but I can't help but feel like I would be having an even better time if the vast majority wasn't playing the same subclass in the same way. Every time I have bounties for killing 25 Hunters along with one of the same for any other class the former completes much earlier than the latter. Case in point, the bounties for today. I killed my 25 hunters in two matches of Control. In that time, the bounty for Warlocks was at 4 kills. FOUR! I was also the only Titan on my team with every other player being -- you guessed it -- Hunters.

Gunslingers, however, get a nod of approval for me. It's also incredibly strong for PVP, possibly even second to Bladedancer, but it certainly takes a higher level of skill/strategy to succeed as a 'Slinger than it is as a 'Dancer.

Ah that makes sense. I was shooting at him and he must have blinked behind me then melee'd me.

Were you shooting at him from above? I still haven't quite got used to using Blink effectively as you can only use it while jumping meaning you'll continue to blink in that kind of rising arc fashion which I find difficult to control. Would've been great if blink was able to be use while sprinting i.e. moving in a straight line, but that would make it really OP for PVP.

This has become a very different game for me (again) after getting all 3 characters to level 20 and trying to juggle them. Loads more ascendant materials every day, though!

Read this story on r/destiny about the loot cave... made me laugh

Today, while indulging in the ritual of the Cave of Treasures, in that most ancient part of Old Russia known as Skywatch, with several fine compatriots of mine, there happened upon us a fresh young knave, barely level 8 was he.

He crept, rather cautiously, across the snowy rock and dried grass to the place where we stood all in a line, ominous and foreboding, like a firing squad readying our rifles for a well-rehearsed execution, and eventually came to sit himself upon the nearby rock.

Quite bewildered, he watched as we continued our methodical and surgical practice until such time when, finding no answers within his own inexperienced mind, he thought to pose a question to us.

"Why do you shoot at this cave?" he queried. "Has it payed you some great insult? Surely it is but a damp hole in the ground, unremarkable as any other. Pray then, what wrong has it done to deserve such a harsh and dutifully exacted vengeance?"

All at once we were taken quite aback, as puzzled at his question as he was with our work. Then, with a quick glance to one another, we laughed in unison; a knowing and admittedly patronizing laugh.

"Do not question it." I beseeched him. "Simply join us, if you are so curious."

He seemed troubled by this for a moment, like a frightened animal; uncertain of the intentions of the one who would offer it a meal so freely and without expectation of repayment. At last, he stood as cautiously as he had crept to this place and joined us in our line, the shortest and least impressive among us but, undoubtedly, the boldest.

As we opened fire once more, I was sure that each one among us was still smiling beneath his mask, that nostalgic and intoxicated grin, soaked with memories of the days when we were so naive as this young squire.

Together, we knew that one day, he too would stand where we stood, long after our bones had been scattered across the many worlds we'd sworn to protect, and at this time he might also think fondly of his earlier days.

He would joyfully reminisce about the days before he knew the pains of unjustly receiving a blue object from a legendary purple engram and before he was gifted his hate for the one they curse in the blackest and foulest tongues of the land, from the highest spires of the gilded Tower, to the lowest and darkest pits of the Last City below.

That foul trickster, that hooded demon...

"Cryptarch", they would hiss, and his very fibers shook with all the terrors of a thousand unrequited souls, longing for exotics. For now, he knew not what it meant. For now, it seemed, ignorance was truly bliss.

Takes a really long time to level Juju.
Invective bounty goes by much quicker.
(I have both.)

Yeah, that's exactly how I did it earlier today solo. Used sunsinger just in case I slipped up and got downed so that I could self revive. Just play slow and smart and use the long hallways and sightlines to your advantage. Just drag a few enemies out at a time while you're waiting for the door to open and you should be fine. That's honestly the hardest part, since you can just chip away at Phogoth from the spot you can't be hit at.

I get that...but what IS being told (or isnt?), is absolute yawnage. If Destiny were a TV show, WOULD NOT WATCH.

The grimoire is written so well, it's a shame they couldn't have given that level of attention to the main story. I honestly just skipped everything, 0 idea of what happened or who anyone is.

Some of the story entires are a bit fan fic quality.

The general descriptions are good though.

Why is the story so bad lol.
I asked the Speaker that question and he said that he could tell me why, but then he didn't.
I asked my Ghost that question and he said nobody knows.
I asked the Mysterious Stranger that question and she said she was too busy to tell me why she couldn't answer but that I had to get my ass to Mars, because reasons.

I was in camp Hawkmoon at first until I saw a vid for The Last Word.

That gun just looks all kind of amazing, ohhhhh my god.

I just laugh and shake my head following by "Forgive them RNGesus because they don't know what they're talking about" when people come saying nerf strikers but when I see this(of course mad skills from the dude just helps to make a point) or blade dancers traveling half a map shanking people... Might as well nerf all classes in the game
