Destiny |OT4| Get your ass to the Vault of Glass and help Timmins find better pants

Finally finished Nightfall, got an exotic chest piece. My friend only got a purple engram though, which of course turned into a blue rifle. So he basically got nothing. I feel so bad now, and just can't believe how unfair the loot system is in this game. Finishing Nightfall, especially at 27, should be guaranteed legendary item (not engram) at the least. Game basically just spat in his face. smh

Might as well make a warlock. They're the best class. :P

Not interested in making other characters really as this game doesn't deserve it. I am only interested in focusing on my one true character dat Titan and that's it. I'm keeping the stuff incase Bungie decided to add trading between other players or something.

EDIT: All these legendaries that I gained were from Vanguard playlists and the cruicible so, I wasn't farming which pisses me off even more. I'm just waiting to hit Vanguard/Cruicible Rank 2 and gain more marks so I can just buy this shit for my self and LEVEL UP FOR FUCKS SAKE.

Can someone please speak out about if they're enjoying the game? I need a census check. I feel as if I'm retarded for not being 'outraged' at the game, and actually enjoying most of its' ingredients. I even like what little cutscenes there are.. just wish there was more. (Referring to the first scene with the Queen here)
hitting the spot for me. one of my favorites in a long while.

and I sympathize with you by the way. there have been a few times where I get the sense that I should feel stupid for not having any major problems with the loot or progression systems. not much I can do about it, but every so often I have been receiving messages from people that my guides have been helpful in getting the most out of the game and it makes me feel so much better... because it really is a lot of fun. like a blast. NOT the kind of game one should get mad at, even if it might seem like one to the untrained eye.

anyone got any exact info on how (or even IF) instances like strikes and missions scale to party size?

To be honest, some of the majors in those story missions in particular can be a pain in the fucking ass.

In other news, I got up to Atheon in the Vault of Glass before the group disbanded. I kinda wanna kill him before the reset in 7 hours. I guess I'll go looking for a pick up group?

I'm tired of getting nailed with legendary shit in the crucible when all I got is my green Shingen-C...and an auto-shotgun! But still... :P

Spent the last two hours farming the cave. Walked away with a few legandary engrams one turned out to be the exotic rocket launcher called truth :D

OMG This literally just happened to me and it completely discouraged me from playing the game further. I don't even like PvP so when I actually go in do good, I expect to be rewarded...

Smh, I had most kills/assist and best kill/death ratio...

Got the googly eyes.

Does anyone get the feeling this game was intended to have 4 classes?

The Guardian crest is divided into 4 quadrants. The Vanguard table could easily fit another Vanguard. And there are banners in the Vanguard hall hanging from the ceiling, three in a group, one for each class with just enough space for one more. And the cancelled Tigerman playable Race would've had four races, one for each class as it is now.

Destiny 2, return of the Tigerman and uprising of the 4th class?

That doesn't change the fact that the subclass encourages spammy play and puts PVP on easy mode for the unskilled.

It lets bad players beat other bad players. Like every super. Just spamming the attack will get you shotguned by someone who isn't freaking out at the blue monster swinging to them. Unlike other basic supers that just straight up kill and have added durability. Pop the super in the middle of a crowd and you should be killed. Pop it before going into a room where you think people are and it just takes one person keeping their head and shooting you normally to end your plans. Pop it to kill one person and that person effectively wins the match up since you just blew your super and didn't make any orbs for your team

I bet one of the expansion pack will have a new class attached with it, sort of like WoW.

So what's faster to level up? Vanguard rep or one of the specific factions? Considering I don't really play any PVP at all?

I've gotten a good number of Vanguard marks so far but the rep is not really increasing.

Oh good, I dinged vanguard rank 2. And was able to buy a legendary chest piece.

Suddenly less mad. Should have flipdesk'd sooner.

I'm right there with you. The game is terribly flawed, and I'm curious what happened in development because it's obviously undercooked, but none of it really bothers me much. I think part of it was keeping my expectations in check after the beta, and part of it is that I just really, really like the FPS/RPG genre mix up. I had the same thoughts about Borderlands 1 and 2.

Just did a defend the warsat public event with two other sunsingers, and it was hilarious. We were all pretty much in a constant super state, at one point I generated 6 orbs at once. They were everywhere.

Started the game again as a Hunter to see what they're like and while being level 7 in the crucible sucks with almost no abilities or good weapons I got killed by a level 25 who teabagged me...... what year is it? lol

Right on board with you. I'm loving the components of this game. Sure it has it's flaws, but it's not enough to stop me putting almost 72 hours into this game and more to come for sure.

The most fun i've had in the horrid end game grind is while farming The Cave is when two factions went at it and we all camped the room the hive spawned in to the left. Blade dancin' all day!

No need to respond to things that are not true.

What's it like in the land of delusion?

reason wins out!

continue building your collection of legendaries and exotics in this manner and it'll feel downright satisfying

First off you dont have a faction class item equipped do you?

#1 for rep is bounties. bounties bounties bounties. if you've done them all for the day, the weekly heroic strike gets you a bit, and then you can also do patrol missions if you need to keep going. Target patrol missions (star icon) are worth 25 rep, the rest are worth 10. you can burn through them quite rapidly, and if you have a fireteam you can all split up on the surface of the planet and realllly accelerate this process.

I dont get the endgame here.

I am a level 24 Warlock. I understand the whole light attribute angle, but how am I supposed to get this better gear? I have played lots of strikes and stuff and I just dont get shit. I finally got my first legendary engram drop today at level 24 by killing a random Drek or whatever... it turned into a blue armor piece that was worthless.

What has been more effective than playing the high level strikes and missions on the hardest difficulty my character can handle? Just farming at that Earth cave. I not only got all of my armor from there but I got enough junk blues to level my Crypt asshole to level 6. And as a gift for leveling him from 5 to 6 I got an actual legendary, a sniper rifle.

So I need to level up to Vanguard 2? I am like 1400 short and the grind seems unreal with such little, repetitive content to plow through again and again and again. If I am Vanguard 1 and only about 400 towards 2, should I continue or just join a faction?

Also, about what level is the lowest you can contribute in VoG? I don't want to be the guy who keeps dying.
