Behold pocket infinity.... a full auto fusion rifle

Leveling up this baby right now. Was curious on how the full auto feature worked and it looks like it is glorious.

In terms of flashy damage and such, yeah, they're by far the worst.

But their crouch-to-stealth-to-resurrect is an absolute god-send.
blink-slide escapes in pve are phenomenal too. it's an excellent class.

The super is very tough to use effectively during boss fights or situations with lots of yellows. I was playing around a bit with the Razor's Edge ability during the Nightfall, as it's the only projectile ability the class really ever gets, and it's hard to use but does count as arc damage with a deceptively long range. it can take down arc shields from a distance.

during arc burn, though, hoo boy...
Does Nightfall strike give Vanguard rep points? And if so, does anyone want to do Nightfall strike? I know it's late, but I'm level 27 and really wish to do it before the reset.
A bunch, like 250 or something. if it were a little earlier I'd run it again with you, sorry :(

i mean, i'm obviously biased as a gunslinger, but i feel like whenever i encounter another class, their abilities are better than mine. i win because i play smarter, but in a super vs super, melee vs melee, grenade vs grenade battle, gunslinger usually comes in last IME.

What I've said comes from experience playing a gunslinger. My gunslinger has a much higher K/D than my Titan for a damn good reason(Though my Titan's K/D was kinda ruined by Bad JuJu, in fairness).

RNG was nice to me yesterday; got an Exotic bounty ( Invective ) I completed very quickly, fully upgraded my Sunbreakers, got my Vanguard rank to 3 and got rewarded the 'The Devil You Know' Legendary Hand Cannon for it.

If now I could only get a single Legendary Warlock Helmet, I'd start trying the Raid, but for some reason, in ~ 50 hours of gameplay, I have not encountered a single one... I always get Legendary Titan Helmets for some reason. I really don't want to buy that ugly one from the Crucible guy. :-(

Wish they would significantly up or completely remove the Mark cap for both Vanguard an Crucible. It sucks hitting an artificial progress barrier...

I got the exotic bounty yesterday and picked thorn since I didn't want a rocket launcher and the other option required xur to even start. I enjoy PVP but am always dead last with < 0.2 KD ratios, so it seemed like a daunting challenge to me as well.

I ended up getting it done after about 6 hours of PVP over 2 days, my tips are

- get a void shotgun or fusion rifle, and practice in PVE with them first (the moon story with "we've woken the hive!" at the start is a good place) so you are good at aiming, especially with fusion.

- with shotgun (what I used), stay crouched the WHOLE time and move slowly, constantly looking at the radar. play defensively, not aggressively. I spent a lot of time hiding by doors and shotgunning in the face people who ran past

- i played control 99% of the time, the few times i tried rumble results were mixed. some games I did good, some games I did horrible and killed 3 people and died like 15 times. its just too much of a clusterfuck unless you have memorized every map

- corridors and small halls are your friend, open spaces are your enemy (with shotgun, maybe opposite with fusion). if i saw more than one red enemy on my radar i ran like hell, its better to get one kill in than face 2 or 3 people and probably die. only exception was if i had my super up, then I'd charge in.

- map capture points are great places to sneak up and kill someone from behind, again with crouch you can stay off the radar if you move slow

I thought it was gonna be an impossible task too but it slowly grinded up, the first few games I actually made 0 progress (you wont go negative, as I found out) but as I learned the maps I got a lot better. The bounty actually made me a much better PVP player.

Of course the second I was done I switched back to my melee punch build and ran rumble with glee, dying like 10 times for every kill and not caring at all anymore.

Thanks for the info. Ima try my best but at the rate im going ill be lucky to do it in less than 10

if i played on my titan i feel like i'd be unstoppable. a super nobody can dodge? a OHK melee? i'll never lose a CQB encounter again. extra health wins in most 1v1s since i wont be relying on the first shot. my grenade alone will give me the upper hand when opponents can't even see me.

gunslinger's best at avoiding encounters or tackling them from afar, which is probably why you die less. but when those situations arise (as they often do on these maps), titan seems like a juggernaut.

It feels impossible to me as well. The problem is that not only do you really need a positive k/d to make progress but even with void on my secondary and heavy weapons my primary doesn't count. This means to make real progress I need avoid using my primary and die as little as possible. I think I'll probably never make it to tell the truth.

Too bad Bladedancer is probs the worst class in PvE :(

I had an excellent Bladedancer hunter in my raidparty last weekend. Bladedancer is great for clearing loads of mid-level mobs, such as hobgoblins and stuff. Shit was a lifesaver when it was just us two in the timeportals.

Circular argument is circular. I already explained how shotguns wreck the 0HK melee(Not to mention it has a 4 second window of use and 4 second charge up time) and just about everything else you're talking about. I'll simply agree to disagree at this point.

i wouldn't run headlong into someone in a shotgun just as i wouldn't stick my head out to get sniped or run towards the heavy ammo spawn after the other team picked it up. doesn't really matter what class you are at that point.

striker has OHK melee. gunslinger doesn't.

So I head up to the Skywatch to see if anyone's farming, and of course, people are. So I do the little quests around the area just for kicks. As I'm doing it I'm moving back and forth in front of the cave so I can gauge to see if the guys farming are taking issue with it. They are.

After I finish the side quests, proceed to dancing in front of the cave. I got a few angry messages too, but it was worth it. I'm so tired of seeing guys up at the Skywatch farming.
Lol, wtf. Why?

Why the fuck do you care if they are farming? Way to help justify the limited social options by fostering shitty progress blocking behavior.

Instead of gambling perhaps they should be upping their rep and then just buying the gear they want.

idk I just hope Bungie patches the cave. inb4 nofunallowed.jpg

You're doing it wrong. Just sit next to them, go AFK (even better if you can remoteplay on Vita), do more important stuff in the house, watch the engrams pile up, get legendaries, dance in their faces while they get nothing and did all the work.

I did that after we fought against the Hive and Fallen in their big ass war, then gave them a quick Salute and left.

Some of us already have all legendaries and exotics. Rather gamble on skywatch then spend hours raiding for nothing

Anyone else baffled at why he is so engrossed in this game? Like, I'm doing the same shit over and over again for like 40 hours and yet here I sit at work and can't wait to come back to continue....

Oh the joy yesterday when Raul finally gave me a Legendary Fusion rifle... I can't remember being this happy in a game for a long time.

I officially love this game and I don't even know why.

This I can agree on.

Yes, what a terrible person I am for standing in front of a cave for 10 minutes.

yea hunters especially get screwed over by most of the armor as far as aesthetics go. can't blame us for trying to find better pants, especially when the places we're "supposed" to get it from aren't giving it to us.

Anyone know what the new bounties, etc. pertaining to the Reef will be? Do we get them at the reef itself or still from the same robot at the tower?

They've told us barely anything and relayed this new content to us via vague story info with no context.

1. Everybody has a shotgun. Only time I get kills with that shoulder charge is when I catch someone by surprise, and any gun would suffice at that point.

2. Gunslinger has 0HK greande, Striker doesn't.

Let's just agree to disagree and be done with it.

Don't assume everyone who is farming is ONLY farming. Spending 15-30 minutes in skywatch as a fireteam you can both farm and knock off some patrol missions and bounties at the same time. It's a nice relaxing activity to throw in between more demanding things like strikes and PvP.

The invective bounty is pretty easy. Did it in 3 hours or so
How?? I have that one and I'm afraid to start working on it. The K/D of 25?? I rock PvP but my k/D is rarely over 2..

IIRC there will be a new character in the tower that will hand out the bounties.

I'm in the same boat.

It's not a K/D ratio of 25 in a match, it's a K/D spread over multiple matches. As long as you stay in the positive over a few matches, you're golden.

So, i hit 20 on saturday and, as of now, i still have to drop a level 20 item. I'm not even talking about legendary, exotic or whatever that shizzle is, a level 20 fuckin blue is all i want and i can't seem to find 'em, all the things i've dropped are between 16-18, not even 19!
Is this even normal?

I mean, it's not like all i'm doing is level 16 strikes, i've been doing a lot of pvp, daily heroic strikes, daily pvp whatever, the weekly yesterday (even though we didn't manage to finish it), am i doing something wrong?
Is there a secret way to get, not even awesome, but decent loot in this game?

you get level 20 blues from level 24 strike playlist or crucible

Really? Well that makes it a lot more manageable. I know what I'll be working towards today then.
