So I haven't really seen it discussed in the last few pages, but has anyone noticed the cryptics level making a difference? Before when I used to get the reward in the mail, I used to get nothing but blues. Then I started getting one blue one purple. Then two purples and now at 13 I got two purples and a blue. Not only that, but my purple ingrams are actually turning out to be mostly purple gear drops.

So um.....for the queen mission, I got a Moon mission. Uhhhhhhhh. I'm guessing there's another one on mars?

I've repeatedly jumped in and out and I'm just getting random story missions. So far I've had missions on the Moon, Venus, and Mars.

By the way... Is there a point to this? I see no "Rewards" section listed, it's old story missions, and it's locked at level 24 (with Epic on). Do you actually get anything for playing these missions?

The engrams from leveling the cryptarch are random. I got more purples when he first started sending them out than I do now generally x.x I've also seen no improvement in quality of decrypted items. I think it's just a placebo effect, but who knows. They don't exactly tell us anything about anything lol.

So, why do exotic engrams cost 23 motes of light while I can only get 1 or 2 mote of lights from legendary engrams? I'm totally getting ripped off. But I don't know who by.

Yeah I just got the legendary chest piece for doing the story mission on Earth.

Been having a blast with the game, but man that Angry Joe review is an eye opener. It seems like so many things were cut out from the final game, huge disappointment after watching that review.

The Cryptarch keeps most of the legendaries he decrypts. He "accidentally" dismantles them, growing his monopoly on ascendant materials. He occasionally throws us a bone to keep us coming back.

Xur just likes shinies.

So instead of letting us go to the reef to see a new hub for these bounties and to buy gear, we do it all in the tower. And instead of bounties with new and interesting challenges, it's the same old kill x with headshots type of stuff.

Okay Bungie. Okay.

THATS IT?? Just more bounties!! They way they were hyping it up I was expecting at least a new NPC!

I thought surely my game was bugged when nothing new showed up in the tower... Then I realized why everyone was huddled around the bounty robot.

What do you guys think about Invective Vs The Comedian?

invective: the slow reload and one extra round aren't the best first impression. How does it feel when you level it? Using the War Machine Titan perk to take the string put of the reload time when I can.

You were able to sit through his review? Wow. That's shocking. I didn't make it through a minute before his loud and obnoxious crap got to me.

There's missions too from orbit they give legendary loot but they can be difficult (level 24 w/ lots of modifiers) im down to have people join a fire team and knock these out.

Guys, give me some tips on how to be better at PVP. Here is a small summary of what's bugging me:

- my KDR is all over the place. Sometimes it's close to 2.0, other times it's below 0.5. Yesterday was so frustrating. I played 3 matches and my best KDR was 0.87. Being in a team with a similar performance didn't help overall result (lost all 3 matches).

I'm going to assume that you're not suffering from lag.

Despite the fact that Destiny, in some ways, caters quite a lot to weaker players, there is still an enormous gap between the best and worst players. It's not that surprising that your results vary quite a bit, I find much the same. Sometimes you're against better opposition, sometimes you're supported by worse players. It makes a big difference.

Other than that, are you using the right weapons in the right ways? There are many weapons that are outright crap in PvP, and many weapons which are only good on certain maps.

- I noticed a strange thing when I rolled Warlock (I have lvl 20 Hunter, but wanted to try different class); there are some people that kill me with literally with 1-2 shots. They carry primary weapons, it's not a sniper shot or anything like that. When I leveled up some skills (specially the ones that increase armor), I noticed that I'm significantly harder to take down. I thought that any non-Iron Banner mode ignored level advantages as well as equipment levels?

No. Only two things are ignored - attack and defense ratings on weapons and armor respectively. Everything else matters. Survivability is affected by Armor and Recovery, which are seen in your subclass.

- continuing from the previous point, I noticed that I can barely take down shield on some players. I deal mix of yellow and white damage and their shield barely goes down 50%. They spot me and take me out in like 2 shots.

Are you using a weapon with low impact (this relates to the damage per round)?
Also, I don't think anyone is killing you in two shots. Sometimes shots that land in quick succession feel like a single shot.

- I tried using Fusion Rifle and the results are mixed - sometimes I have great performance, other times, I can't aim for shit and get killed while trying to aim at my target.

The fusion rifle is the big risk weapon. Some fusion rifles are far easier to use than others, so experiment, but you need to pick your moments. If someone is too close or too far away it becomes very hard to do them in, and if you miss with a fusion rifle you're often done. You have to be hitting with almost every part of the burst to get a kill. One trick is to aim low, because the burst tends to go upwards.

The main reason I went with Warlock is that I noticed that I often failed to activate Super on my Hunter. I spent entire matches waiting for a perfect moment to activate Golden Gun and in the end I completely forgot about it. Also, Nova Bomb can easily take out Titan's bubble (my most shining moment with Warlock was taking out 3 Guardians with a single Nova Bomb while they were capturing a control point - 2 of them were under Titan's bubble), and it doesn't really require any careful strategy when using (Golden Gun is easily wasted since you have no special protection when the skill is active). Then there is the melee attack - Hunter is the only class that doesn't have 1HK melee attack. Knife throw is mostly a miss since no one likes to stand in place and wait to get killed. Of course, this is just my personal view on Hunter, there are many people that play Hunter masterfully. I guess I just find Warlock easier to play with.

So basically, you feel the hunter is underpowered relative to the warlock?

I'd say a few things. First, while the Warlock's Nova Bomb is extremely strong, the hunter's supers are the only ones which will consistently and in a vast range of scenarios get you multi-kills. The Nova Bomb is so extremely situational (the same goes for the Fist of Havoc) because you want people to bunch up, whereas the golden gun and blade dancer will rip through groups of people who are potentially spread apart.

It sounds like you are overly cautious when it comes to using your super, which doesn't make sense with the hunter's super. Go into an area with multiple enemies, pop it, and be aggressive: you have a one hit kill, so you don't need to exercise caution with movement.

The hunter's other super is frankly even more effective, and is the only super which can realistically net four, or five kills with remote consistency. With the right perks selected in the subclass, it becomes unbelievably hard to kill a bladedancer, especially to kill them before they get a kill.

One last general tip. You have various things about your character, as well as your own skillset, which dictate what types of fight you are and aren't suited to. Don't go into the wrong type of fight. I never use shotguns, preferring the sniper, and play as a warlock. I'm not suited to close range engagements in confined areas. So I try to ensure I'm not in them. Be part of the fights you are suited to, and try not to get caught in the other ones. The radar is hugely helpful for this.

Okay Bungie. Okay.
A new hub would have been annoying unless it offered a lot of new things, something that probably is unfair to expect this soon after launch. The load times mean I'd rather they keep with 1 hub as long as possible.

They could definitely have come up with some more interesting bounties and maybe some new missions though and having another faction to grind rep for is tiresome. But knowing Bungie I'm not surprised. Halo Reach always had awful weekly/monthly/daily challenges with shit rewards and everything cool was behind a huge wall requiring insane amounts of grinding to overcome.

Can I vent my frustration about something that is not engram related?

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to return you to orbit automatically if you are inactive for about 10 minutes? I was playing solo ffs! I was not handicapping anyone by being afk...

I never complained about any always-online drm. I more or less never complained about the inability to pause in an online-centric game. But getting booted from my solo session because I have a family is borderline obnoxious. Plus, I can not really think of a single good reason why this is programmed like this...

So before, Activision could only redress the same thing annually, but thanks to Destiny, they can do it weeky! Revolutionary.

*continues playing*

I logged in, looked at the bounties, and logged off. I know it's not an MMO but the lack of...MMO social stuff really narrows down my reasons to log in every day.

Damn just saw the requirements for Queen's weapons.

Rank 2 and glimmer up the ass.

I did about 7 queen bounties and half a little over a quarter towards rank one...

Bungie pls!

I just woke up and logged into Destiny. I saw where you get the bounty and the queen faction items but how do I get access to the mission on the top spot at the bar on the left side of the screen...?

Turn in one bounty. Also, it sends you on random story missions with multiple modifiers and can apparently give okay loot. I'm still doing my first one so dunno lol

Can you have multiple Queens wrath missions running at once? I'll fo the missions so that I get the legendary gear and break them down for ascendant materials.

Well my PS4 just shut off by itself. In the middle of a raid. Please don't be dead.
You're not the first or second person to say this.

My advice is to get a laptop cooling pad or whatever to keep that PS4 cooled especially for long play sessions. I already have a portable AC that cools my room and is positioned next to the PS4.

dead weight on the servers. standard fare for MMOs IME.

10 minutes is too short though.

OMG, the Queens Wrath mission took me to the Restoration mission again, the bounty I just completed to even get this mission. LOL!
