It is, attack was set differently in beta.

Attack isn't actually damage anyway, it only reduces the penalty you receive to damage when fighting something higher level than you. If you are the same level or higher than your target you will do the same damage regardless of your attack rating. Impact is the base damage function for each weapon (which converts differently per weapon type).

I cant help but feel like a lot of this stuff is designed to keep players grinding for gear/light levels as long as possible. 100 marks per week max, taking forever to level reputation, 200 cap (so you cant hoard marks and spend on a new char), etc. It took me about 150 vanguard marks worth of grinding to even reach rep 2 of my faction anyhow, the majority were bounties and strikes.

Such fucking horseshit, I was wondering why my 200 marks weren't moving, thought it was a glitch
Wow so now I have to handcuff myself to level up Vanguard really hard, before I can get new Marks, what kind of ass-backwards logic is this?

Seriously, what the hell is up with all the caps? Like, I get that they don't want people to get all their gear and wander off too quickly, but this is just ridiculous.

Wow so there is a weekly cap of a mere 100 and an overall cap of 200. This game is beginning to get on my nerves. It appears to adhere to all the worst shit I hate about MMOs (hence why I avoid them like the plague).

Try going to your character select screen, hit settings, log out, and then switch character. That should fix it. My achievements are bugged too.

Yeah, it's truly nonsense and I don't understand the design decisions that went with that. They said Destiny is not an MMO yet they took the worst tropes from them. I never played MMOs; in fact I highly dislike them.

I was able to solo Shrine of Oryx and Restoration. I didn't try any of the others solo, but respawn isn't disabled so you should be able to solo all of them.

Same here, I'm lvl 24 first time was a starter Earth quest which was easy. Second I did was the gatekeeper bloke, he was easy to kill but an absolute bugger to get to with hobgoblins one shotting me on the way.

Bugger is I got the same legendary chest reward for both. Is that it? Or are there legs, heads etc? About to hand in another bounty so may try again tomorrow.

Yeah, Destiny has a ton of contrived blockade's of progression. It's obvious this game was designed to not allow people to get much out of binge playing. They want you to slowly replay through content since there isn't a lot.
 
Best planet to farm public events? In not getting any luck on earth and the timer isn't helping much.

Also, if I accept a queens mission and abort it will it roll a different one. I got the black gardens on 24' fml
 
So I have a queens bounty to kill some guy at the cosmodrome but I have no idea how to find him, is it a mission or strike?

Also how many queens points do you need to buy something?

We found one by accident. When you reach the Nexus, don't jump down, kill all Minotaur from top and wait till main boss appears. You'll have one Minotaur spawn on top, damage it enough so that it goes into rage mode but don't kill it. Everyone run back as far as possible, let it kill one of the guys while other guys go back on top of final boss. The raged Minotaur will not follow you back and will also prevent spawning new one. From then on its easy pummeling with launchers and sniper rounds from top (take heavy/special ammo synthesis with you)

what? don't misunderstand what this means for your character. he's... exactly in the same place. spend your marks... if you have no need of armor buy the cheap pieces and dismantle for ascendant shards.

the cap sucks because 200 seems crazy low, but it will not stop you from progressing your level, which is the entirety of what I'm talking about in my guides.

I do legitimately feel bad for anyone who hit 200 marks before even getting to vanguard (or Crucible) rank 2. I didn't even realize that was possible honestly, but it sucks because they can't spend to get under the cap. I hope you guys are doing every bounty you can :)

Wait, you mean don't jump down that giant pit at all? I didn't realize the boss would even spawn without that.

Come now, not even you can defend something as silly as a 200 mark cap.

You can't even get gear for your alts(Except weapons). And use it for resources? It's a waste of marks for that. Easier to go find the daily events and grind that each day.
 
Got the AR that fires slower when zoomed in(ie ADS) but hits for more damage. It's called the Painted Suros CGB-47. Thing does awesome in the crucible. Kills fast like a Scout Rifle but still has a higher rate of fire and I don't have to wear down my R2 button, heh.

Anyone else use this or something like it and feel like it's better than normal quick firing ARs for the crucible?

I got the gatekeeper mission from the queen, and got a legendary helmet as a reward. I'm assuming there is a whole suit available at least.

Was it too much for me to assume that this whole "Queen's favor mission" they alluded to was going to be new content? Pretty disappointed that whole setup was just the same old missions with new difficulty attached.

EVERYTHING looks like crap in the app. I´ve seen plenty of cool looking Warlocks in game.
