I really don't get why people want the grimoire in game. Did you actually read the books in Skyrim or the codices in Mass Effect? I don't want to sit on my couch and read tiny text on my TV. When I'm on my couch I want to play Destiny. I'll read the cards when I can't be playing the game.

The only real problem with the cap is if you focused on a faction, you haven't spent enough time doing just Vanguard rep to level it up to SPEND the Vanguard Marks you've been making while leveling up your Faction Rep.

It's a legit grievance, albeit the first one in the game that's actually affected me.

I like to hoard currency lol. Also, saving for some weapons when I hit rank 3. I'm ranking both Vanguard and Crucible at once so it's take sometime. Now, I'll have no choice but to just buy armor to shred.

That makes perfect sense and I hadn't really thought about it. I pushed Vanguard first and exclusively. And since I didn't do any other rep, I had the rank long before I had enough marks to buy it all. Also lol at the currency hoarding, I would do that in MMOs so I can sympathize.

Yes. I absolutely read the books in Skyrim and the Codex in Mass Effect. Love that sort of stuff.

SO NOW.
People shot for five hours into a cave
Played the same strike 9001 times

This isn't a fun amazing story. Add that to all the caps that are put in place.

Bungie is 100 times better than this.

What happened here?

Dax: because it's the truth at the moment and has a valid place in a forum about destiny I'm not advertising I'm making a point.
Then just make the point by typing it up in a post, otherwise you're just advertising your Twitter account.

I read/listened to all the Codex in Mass Effect, yup! Would love a similar option for Destiny since there is so much lore that I haven't read yet.

Why does Bungie hate matchmaking so much? Tried the queen's mission and it's pretty much one of the worst experiences I've had in Destiny when done solo, doable but the respawn system sucks all the fun out of it and due to a shoddy internet setup I can plug either PC or PS4, not both at the same time which makes looking for groups a pain in the ass.

Why not? It's all in good fun.

Why are you so defensive about this game?

I wouldn't call someone calling someone out for advertising their Twitter Feed (especially when it pales in comparison to @LegendaryEngram ;D ) as being "so defensive of the game".

One could look at your post about being on hold for a refund (lofl) as being "so defensive about hating this game".

its such bullshit lol

like i could even understand the glimmer cap. but marks? for fucks sake man why?

This is somewhat upsetting. Rep grinding isn't a quick process, I've been getting other factions outside of vanguard and now I'm only barely into rank 1 with the vanguard and any marks I collect until I get to rank 2 will be lost "to the darkness." 1 week cap of 100 total cap of 200...that is too low by far.

My guess $500 million and no release in sight led to the axe landing on a lot of content. The game screams 'hack job to ship to me', it hasn't effected the base game much but plot, mission design and audio seems to have been cut (I mean why not hire a VO actor to record the Grimoire dialog?)

I haven't had much experience with Halo/Bungie games in general (only played the first half of halo 1), why the hell aren't there volume controls for music, effects etc? Is this common in a Bungie game?

Just beat the black garden for the first time.

Was that it? I fight three re-skin duds that I have fought before. Wtf bungie. You put no thought into to this. And the why was I there any way, and who was that lady who gave me that gun. Why is there even a story if they aren't going to tell right.

So does Queen's Wrath include a mission which has unique voice dialogue / is only available for a limited time / is clearly content from the initial install of the game?

The floating black pudding is my favorite character in the game.

When am I supposed to get the good endgame gun? I beat the Black Garden last night and didn't get it.

Better it be in the game than not so that you could actually understand what is going on and why. I mean there is subtle story telling and then there is just exposition and lore. This game confuses the later for the former.

Gotta do something when others are doing the grind at the cave ;)

I think some issues regarding story would be resolved if I can read about a faction I have been killing for a while right in the game. Just beat a boss, at the mission select, let me go read about him right there.

I don't get how some people are so bad :/ we shouldn't lose when I go 24-6.

Anyone feel like stomping others with me?

People read everywhere you can get exotics or legendaries even if you suck, so they're trying their luck?

I suck at crucible, I've played maybe 3 matches, never got anything and won't drag a team just to have a chance to get good gear I can get by myself.

Only the bolded is true, because the bounties were likely already on the disk and it's for damn sure the missions that we're playing are the same ones we've always been playing.

The Codec in Mass Effect was great and it was in-game AND voiced too. Not relegated to a website. I'm not a big fan of Bioware but I'll give credit where credit is due.

Fucking hell Ive been on hold for 20 minutes straight at Sony Benelux helpdesk. Trying to return this shitty shitty game.

How many hours did you play this game? I actually agree with a lot of your posts, btw, but returning it if you've played it a ton seems....depressingly amusing.

Just sell it used.

Good design would have the strikes teach you specific things like coordination and positioning and then the raid is the 'test' of all the things you learn throughout the game, so to speak. The strikes don't do any of that and arbitrarily throwing the kitchen sink at you in the last dungeon is bad design.

Yeah, boggles my mind too. But, as has been said, those of us who have raided and seen Blizzard learn from their mistakes and improve their craft know this.

And despite the panic and shock of FPS players hitting their first raids, they'll still learn. We all did.

lol, talk about a pipe dream. There is no way a matchmade group of randoms could do shit like positioning and coordination, on top of added mechanics that don't involve just shooting.

Not immediately, no. Down the line, yes. I am hoping matchmaking is just delayed, not permanently axed, to let people learn. To Marcel's point, though, they CAN'T learn currently prior to the raids. That and it still doesn't adequately explain zero matchmaking for heroic missions or why we can't voluntarily pick how many players we want on strikes.

Maybe I want to try solo?

Options, Bungie, pls.

So is there any incentive ever to change difficulty? On the queens wrath mission repeat it gives you options from easy to very hard, but no loot descriptions or changes. Do random drops change on difficulty levels or is it all the same
It doesn't appear so? And if there isn't, it's the BIGGEST FUCKING MISTAKE I've ever seen in a loot game.

D3 actually made a similar mistake, which also boggles my mind.

Finallly level 28!!! Now that I actually meet the criteria, I can finally start playing the nightfall and the vault of glass
You could've gone when you were 26/27.

You on PSN? Whats your tag

HAH. First though I thought, to. Play with us.

Rugioh, last night with two bubbles and our competent European friends was awesome.

It's just frustrating and I hate losing at anything -_- lol

I see this sort of viewpoint over and over again. I want to make it clear that there is one problem with this line of reasoning, the majority of people don't have the time to reach this point in the game. Gaffers ware outliers on the scale of people who play games. Don't believe me? Take a look at your Destiny trophies on PS4. I did last night and many trophies and accomplishments are still rare and ultra rare at this point.

It strikes me as odd that people (not saying you, Xater) literally burn through, bend or break the game mechanics and then complain that there is nothing left to do. The game was designed for a wide range of people. If it was designed with hardcore mmo/gamers in mind then the majority of average people would never see the end game.

Edit; I do see your point about free content to keep people who hit the caps and upper levels involved and I agree. I just don't think it can be major additions without shutting many out.

If it ain't got enough content even casuals will lose interest fast too. You give casuals way more credit than they deserve. Even at slower pace this game simply lacks any content. Same thing happened with Star Wars: The Old Republic, great and beautiful game which was supposed to dethrone WoW. I know, a silly statement, but the game truly had the potential of doing that, just like Destiny has potential. It was a really good ride to the endgame but the endgame sucked balls and the game pretty much died 6 months after release. Bungie here is making the same mistake and people will leave. Lack of content and rehash of existing missions won't do the trick. I really like playing this game but reality is what it is.

Hey, guys, I turned in some bounties and now the bounty tracker is offering me some exotic bounties!

They are: "A Dubious Task," "Toland's Legacy," and "A Light in the Dark."

A couple of questions.

1. Can I choose all three?
2. If I can't, which one should I choose?
3. Does choosing one bounty lead to a specific exotic weapon, or do I get to choose between a set amount?

People saying the game isn't difficult or its arbitrarily difficult should be forced to run the Moon Strike on Epic. Having to actually use arc/solar damage, focus fire, work together, and be alert...Most strikes don't require that at all. 3 Hallowed Knights and 3 Hallowed Wizards will change you, especially when they resist damage not corresponding to their shield.

I solo'd it. Not even joking.

What point are you talking about? It maybe takes 10-15hrs to reach the level cap. This isn't like WoW or some of the other MMOs where people take 100+hrs to reach the "end game".

You can only choose one of the three bounties.
I'd go with A Dubious Task. I just completed it and it was fairly easy to do.
Each bounty leads to one specific exotic weapon. Task is a shotgun, Legacy is a weird pulse rifle, Light is a handcannon.

1. No.
2. A Dubious Task
3. Yeah, it's specific weapons. A Dubious Task gives you a pretty nice shotty, whereas the other two lead to Bad Juju and Thorn, which are... pretty underwhelming, apparently :P

2. Do not choose Toland's Legacy, it gives you Bad JuJu. Bad JuJu sucks.
3. Each bounty leads to one gun.

Correct. Each earns a different exotic. I'd do A Light in the Dark for the Thorn. But that's me.

My reaction after beating it: "Did I just finish the game?"

You're like the eighth highest poster in this thread and you haven't seen this question answered?

Was playing the Dust Palace today with two random players. We got to the final section without any problems at all, but all the Psion Flayers started giving us trouble plus the other enemies with shields nearly blew us up.
And just when we thought we were gonna die one of the Psion Flayers fell off the railing and off the map. I don't even know how that happened, cause they don't jump at all, and we hadn't even removed it's shield yet.
And it got even better with the last Psion Flayer, who entered a Ward of Dawn one of us had deployed. The guy who used it had the ability that made us get a shield everytime we entered the Ward of Dawn, so with the Psion Flayer inside it, we just went inside punched it, out again to get shield and then in to punch it. Looked so awesome with the three of us just repeately using it as a punching bag.
